Yoongi takes a hold of your arms, lifting the upper half of your body up as he continues his fast, rhythmed pace. Sweat rolls down your neck, trailing between your breasts as you moan in ecstasy. The bed frame is rocking back and forth at a quick speed—matching the pace of Yoongi’s thrusts, but the frame doesn’t hit the wall. The two of you managed to bring it out far enough. The hotel room’s television is playing a movie you don’t recognize. It’s been playing for a while, but not once have you caught a glimpse of it to see what the movie is.

Yoongi pulls you further back until your back is against his, your head resting on his shoulder. He wraps one arm around your waist while the other goes around your chest, his heavy breathing against your ear. It sends a chill throughout your body.

“Yoongi,” you moan, feeling as if you’re going to erupt any second. “Please don’t stop,” you beg, your legs shaking from how tired they are. “I’m close.”

He growls into your ear, the hand that’s on your waist travels to your core. Finding your bud, he creates quick, circular motions sending you off the edge. You’re louder now, hands clutching onto his thighs as he whispers in your ear. He’s telling you how well you’re taking him, how he loves to hear your cries of pleasure—wants to feel your body quake as you orgasm on him. He wants to know that it was him that made you feel this way, and he is.

Ever since that night at the cabin, you’ve been desperate for him. You find it hard to keep your hands off him. You feel embarrassed with how much you always want him, but Yoongi always reassures you that he feels the same way. You feel like the two of you are worse than Ari and Hoseok, and you probably are.

You cry out as your body jerks from your orgasm. “Fuck, Y/N,” Yoongi moans, lowering your body back onto the bed, trying to keep his pace but he’s getting close, too. “Where do you want me—” He doesn’t finish his sentence. He’s close to his own ecstasy.

“My mouth,” you tell him, and you feel him pull out. You roll over onto your back, watching him as he straddles your chest, his member entering your open mouth.

Yoongi isn’t slow as he thrusts into your mouth, he’s rough and quick. He curses as you hollow out your cheeks, swirl your tongue, and do what you can to help him reach his high. Your eyes water as he hits the back of your throat, his hands grabbing onto the bed frame. After a few more thrusts, Yoongi stills, his warm seed invading your mouth. He pulls out as you swallow. He scoots back off your chest. Leaning down, he places a kiss on your lips.

You look towards the clock hanging on the wall to your right. “We should get our stuff packed. Check-out is in two hours,” you tell him, eyes glancing back at him.

With midterms coming up, you and Yoongi decided to finally go to the beach. You spent three amazing days at the hotel. Three days of feeling his lips on your body, hands roaming freely, and bodies intertwined. In three days you ran out of protection, but the two of you couldn’t help it today. Today you played a dangerous game. But now that dangerous, yet exciting game is over, and now you sadly have to go back. Back to the reality of the world; back to your last final ever. Once you finish your final, you wonder what you’re going to do next.

What you and Yoongi are going to do next.

Yoongi leans forward, pressing his lips against your neck. “Two hours is a long time,” he tells you, lips brushing against your skin as he speaks.

You fail to suppress the shiver that runs through your body as you reply, “Two hours is not a long time when we have to shower and pack.”

“I’ll pack while you shower, you pack while I shower,” he answers, his kisses trailing down your neck, between your breasts, down your stomach, and lower and lower.

“Yoongi, we should really start—” Your words catch in your throat, a gasp like moan leaving your lips as Yoongi explores your core.

“I’m not ready,” Ari says, falling back onto her bed. “I’m not ready for finals. I’m not ready for graduation. I am not ready for the real world.”

“But on the bright side of it all, you have a job lined up for you after you graduate,” you inform, hoping she won’t be as stressed as she is. ‘You’re gonna be a forensic linguist,” you add.

“You’re right,” she begins, “but I don’t want to move to a whole different city. I mean, I’m beyond grateful Hoseok managed to find a job where I’m at so I won’t be alone, but it’s away from everyone I know here.”

“I’ll come visit you once I figure out what I’m doing after graduation,” you tell her, hugging your pillow closer to you.

Ari sits up in her bed, a look of confusion etched onto her face. “Don’t you have that internship in New York?” You stare at her for a moment confused, but then your heart drops as realization hits you so hard you forget how to breathe. Ari’s expression changes to sympathetic. “You forgot, huh?”

You throw your pillow to the side, jumping off your bed and rushing to your desk. “I totally forgot about it. With everything that’s happened, it just escaped my mind,” you rush, opening your laptop. You hear Ari climb out of her bed, the sound of her slippers running along the floor as she stands next to you. You open your email, scrolling down and down until you find your first unopened email from Sun’s Crossing. You scroll through every email, reading updates on the company, what projects are coming up, and other things that don’t pertain to your internship. Reaching the final email, you open it.

It’s a schedule of your first day and plane ticket information.

“You’re leaving before our graduation?” Ari mumbles in disbelief. You’re quiet. Ari is telling you things, but you don’t hear it.

What are you going to do? When you applied, you were dating Hanbin. You had a plan. You had your future planned out. But now? Now you’re with Yoongi. Yoongi. Someone you love deeply. Someone you can’t leave—someone you don’t want to leave. You spent years loving him; years crying and trying to understand your relationship with him. Now you have him; you’re with him. Are you willing to lose it all?

“You better not be thinking of canceling this internship,” Ari warns, as if she senses your hesitance.

“I spent years—”

“And you’ve spent years aiming for this achievement,” Ari interrupts.

You close your laptop shut. “I don’t know what to do,” you confess, a lump forming in your throat.

Your best friend places a hand on your shoulder. “Tell him, Y/N. Talk with him and see what happens.” You honestly don’t want to, but you nod in response, still unsure of what you’re going to do.

A few days go by and you’ve said nothing to Yoongi yet. To be honest the two of you have been busy with getting homework done and preparing yourselves for finals in just two weeks. This entire semester has gone by so fast that it feels like you just blinked and it’s already the end. It feels like everything is rushing at you too quickly during what should be your greatest moments. Your final days at this university; your final days dorming with Ari. Everything is coming to an end, and you should be excited.

You should be happy to be finally done with this chapter, but the only thing that lingers in your thoughts is the internship. The looming thought of not going or going and not being with Yoongi anymore.

What do you do? Should you go through with this internship like you said you would months ago? Do you not go and follow Yoongi? What if the two of you fall apart? What if you blame him because you decided not to do the internship? What if you do go to New York and he blames himself because he follows and hates it? Why are there so many what ifs and no solution?

You feel fingers on either side of your cheeks, squishing them together, pursing your lips. Your gaze travels from the trees off in the distance to Yoongi who is standing next to you. He lets your cheeks go. “You’re spacing out,” he comments.

“Finals are stressing me out,” you lie, putting on a sheepish smile.

He isn’t buying it. You can see it in his eyes. “Are you sure that’s the only thing bothering you?” he pushes, eyeing you as if he’s looking for the real answer.

But you push the truth away, as far away from your eyes as possible. “Yeah. There’s a lot I need to prepare for, so it’s stressing me out a bit.” Thankfully he doesn’t push it any further, but you can tell he has so many questions, and thankfully he doesn’t get to ask them.

“Hey, Yoongs,” someone calls. The two of you turn towards a guy standing next to a set of stairs leading down to the lower half of the school. “We’re gonna be late.”

He gives a nod before looking back towards you. “I’ll see you later, okay?” You smile, nodding in response. You can’t really trust your voice right now. Yoongi leans in, pressing his lips against yours. “I love you,” he says as he separates from you.

“I love you, too,” you whisper, waving as you watch him follow his classmate. When he is no longer in sight, you start walking in a direction with no destination in mind. You just need a moment to collect yourself before you head back to your dorms for the day. You’re not ready to face Ari yet. She won’t like your lack of communication with Yoongi.

You wander for a while, feet just taking you wherever on campus. One minute you’re by the library and the next you’re walking by the humanities building where the pond is at. A pond you feel like is becoming your comfort pond when you’re feeling emotional. Or maybe it’s just your imagination. You’re unsure.

Taking a seat near the pond, you wipe away the tears that roll down your cheeks. You don’t like feeling this way. You don’t like the mixed feelings stirring in your stomach, lingering in your thoughts as you try and decide on what to do. You feel like the answer should be obvious, but which one is it? Do you stay? Do you go?

“Y/N?” a voice calls, and you look to your right where you see two familiar faces.

“Hey,” you say, quickly wiping away any tears that have been left behind. You stand on your feet, putting on your best smile for Lynn and Hanbin. “What are you guys doing here?”

They don’t say anything for a moment, the two of them sharing a look before Lynn looks back at you and she opens her arms. Inviting you like Hanbin did when you were conflicted when it came to Yoongi. You let out an exhausted chuckle and make your way towards her, welcoming her warm embrace. You really don’t stop the tears that fall as you hug her back.

“We up for a walk?” Hanbin asks. You separate from Lynn and give a small nod, ready to tell them everything.

Ever since that day you met Lynn, you’ve met with the two often. They’ve become close friends, and you’re so grateful that you three are able to have this friendship without it being weird or anything. Lynn is so kind and supporting you don’t know what you’d do without her or Hanbin. Even now she listens to you as you tell them your troubles without uttering a word.

“I just don’t know what to do,” you confess as the three of you reach the front of the university where its sign is displayed in all its glory. You start left, following the sidewalk that will lead you all around the school.

“You tell him the truth and you take that internship,” Lynn states, as if it’s obvious, and it should be, but is it?

You look to her who is standing to your right. “But…”

Hanbin chimes in, “You don’t halt your career for someone because you might not be with them in the long run. If he was truly supportive, he’d tell you to go. It’s what you’ve dreamed of, and you can’t let anyone or anything hold you back.”

“Hanbin is right,” she states.

“But what if we break up?” your question.

“Then that’s where your story ends with him. It will hurt—everyone’s first love hurts when it’s over, but it doesn’t mean you won’t find love again. It doesn’t mean you won’t find each other again,” Lynn tells you, looping her arm through yours. She brings you closer to her. “It’s life, but that’s what’s amazing about it; you never know the outcome.”

“Lynn and I will try long distance when we graduate. We’re hopeful that we’ll be okay. We found each other once, who’s to say we won’t again?” Hanbin says, taking a hold of her hand.

That’s right…

Hanbin has his own internship in California. Even if you were still dating Hanbin, the two of you were going to do long distance. You planned your future together once your internships were over. Why can’t you do the same with Yoongi?

image

You walk out of the classroom having just turned in your last final. You’re done. No more classes, no more homework or tests. No more coming back to this school.

Where does your future lead you? You’re still not sure. You haven’t told Yoongi yet about your internship. You just haven’t had the time yet, or the courage if you’re going to be honest. Since your conversation with Hanbin and Lynn, things have been hectic and you had no time to really have a clear conversation with Yoongi.

But now you only have a week and a half to talk with Yoongi before your plane departs to your possible future.

Maybe it’s best to talk with him now. Just get it done and over with.

Making your way towards the bus stop closest to the library, you check your phone for any notifications. Nothing important it seems. You place your phone in your back pocket as you pass the line of buildings your classes have always been in. The line of buildings you have grown accustomed to. As you round the corner of the third building, you spot the empty bus stop. There won’t be a lot of people on campus today because it’s the last day of finals. A majority of students probably had their finals already. They’re off enjoying their summer break.

Just as you reach the bus stop, a bus comes to a stop in front of you. Reading the number, you pull out your card and enter the bus. What luck. You press the card to the scanner, hearing the familiar sound of your card being accepted and make your way down the aisle. You take a seat by the window right across from the back doors of the bus. You busy yourself with putting your card back in your bag as another passenger enters the bus. You hear their footsteps make their way down the aisle, but rather than pass you or sit somewhere in front of you, the person takes a seat right next to you.

You look up and towards the person only to see Yoongi staring right at you. “Yoongi,” you say, your tone clearly surprised. Did he have a final today? You don’t remember.

“Ari told me about your internship,” he says, getting straight to the point. Your eyes widen, mouth open to respond, but what can you say? “Why didn’t you tell me?”

You’re silent for a moment, thoughts racing a mile a minute. Why is it harder than you thought? You want to cry. You want to break down and ask him to tell you what to do. You want him to tell you to stay with him. “I don’t know what to do,” you confess, voice just a whisper. The bus jerks forward.

“You take it,” he says matter-of-factly.

You look at him in shock. “What?”

Yoongi takes your hands in his. “Y/N, this is what you’ve dreamed of. Why wouldn’t you take it?”

“Because I don’t want to be separated from you,” you finally say, as if the answer has been waiting to burst free. As if this is the true answer to your problem.

He laughs, but it sounds defeated. “I didn’t wait a year for you, only to lose you because you’re moving to New York for a year or two. That won't’ change anything.” When you don’t say anything, he continues, “I don’t want you to halt your plans because of me. I’m not going to let you pick me over your career.”

You don't stop the tears that now fall. Yoongi releases your hands and cups your cheeks, his thumbs running across the tears to wipe them away. “I don’t like it,” you cry.

He smiles. “I hear long distance can be fun,” he tells you, but you know he’s lying. It’s hard; it sucks. Not everyone makes it out together.

image

The rest of your week and a half goes by in a blink of an eye. And now you’re standing in the airport before the gates where you separate from the three of them. Ari is hugging you tightly, tears streaming down her face. Your heart aches for her.

“Call me the second you land in New York, got it?” she demands, breaking her hug from you.

“Got it,” you answer, giving her your best smile. “Make sure you take pictures of your graduation.”

“Obviously. Who’s gonna pick out my outfit for me? Expect a call the day before.”

She takes a step back, letting Hoseok walk up to you. He smiles his usual bright smile, opening his arms for you to walk into. You wrap your arms around him as you hug him tightly, too. “Take care of her,” you whisper for only him to hear. “Both of them,” you add.

“Of course. You just make sure you take care of yourself out there,” he says, rubbing his hand on your back in a comforting manner. “I’ll miss you, best friend.”

You laugh. “I’ll miss you, too.” As the two of you break apart, Hoseok goes over to a sobbing Ari, wrapping his arm around her and leading her away from you and Yoongi. Your eyes meet him and you immediately break down. Your boyfriend walks up to you, wrapping his arms around you. You sob into his shoulder, hand clutching on to the back of his shirt. “I’m scared.”

“You’ll be okay.” He places a kiss on the side of your head. “You’ll get there and have an amazing time. By the time we see each other again, you’ll be famous.” You know he’s trying to comfort you, but you feel your heart break. You feel the ache in your chest you haven’t felt in so long. “Hey,” he begins, grabbing you by your shoulders and pushing you away to look him in his eyes, “we’ll talk whenever you want, for however long you want, okay?”

You nod, telling him, “I love you.”

His eyes are full of emotions. Emotions you can’t distinguish. It’s like all of the emotions you two have felt over this past year are stirring in his eyes. He cups your cheeks, leaning forward and pressing his lips against yours roughly. As if it’s your last kiss, and in a way it is.

“I love you, Y/N. More than life itself.”

First Love | Epilogue

“How much further?” you can’t help but ask for what seems like the thousandth time. You can’t help it, you haven’t been home in a year, and you feel all sorts of emotions every time you pass a street sign you think is the one you’re going down. You’re always proven wrong.

“Almost there, Miss,” the driver says, a smile displaying on his chapped lips. You watch him as he glances at you in the rearview mirror. “You seem nervous,” he laughs, making a right turn onto another street.

“It’s obvious?” You can’t help but feel embarrassed.

The man chuckles. “Very…” he trails off, waiting for you to give him your name, you assume.

“Oh, uh Y/N,” you tell him, giving a polite smile as he turns left on to another street. As you stare out the window, looking out at the cold December night, you notice how much the buildings look like they should be in a mushy romantic movie. Snow falling and the lights shining brightly.

“Well, Y/N,” he begins, letting go of the wheel with one hand to scratch the back of his head, “it’s understandable to be nervous, but there is always a bright side.”

“And what might that be?” you question, your hands smoothing over your jeans.

“You’re home,” is all he says. You laugh quietly as you feel your body relax a bit more.

He’s right, you are home. After graduating from your university, you spent your entire year in New York. You never had a chance to leave the city and visit your family, friends or Yoongi. You kept in touch almost every day when you first moved, but as time went on, you became busier and busier to the point where conversations were twice a week. Sometimes. You always felt bad every time you were on the phone.

“May I ask what it is that you do?” He stops at a stop sign, waiting for the elderly woman to cross the street.

“I’m a photographer,” you answer as the car begins to move again once she’s on the sidewalk.

“That’s different. It’s rare to see a photographer in my car. I always see someone who’s in business wearing a suit and tie always on the phone. It’s quite boring to drive around someone who never puts their phone down,” he laughs. “They give out too much information regarding their company, but anyways,” he says, pulling over and turning the car off, “we’re here.”

You look out the window to see a house. The house, with its two story charcoal colored tiles and picture windows is something you thought you’d never see your best friend live in. Hoseok, on the other hand, might be that type. Thanking the driver, you get out of the car, making your way back towards the trunk. It pops open and you grab your suitcase, placing it on the ground before closing the trunk. You give a small wave as the driver takes off.

You make your way down the walkway, glancing at the familiar red and dark blue vehicles in the driveway. A lot of your video calls were always in one of those cars, or they were in the background while Ari and Hoseok were attempting to garden in the front. Walking up to the red door, your finger ready to ring the doorbell, you hear faint voices.

“I already told you, Hoseok, the tree won’t go in that way,” you hear Ari say.

Taking several steps back, you peer around the house to see a wooden gate that leads to the backyard. Dragging your luggage, you unlatch the lock and make your way down the concrete pathway. Rounding the corner of the house, you can see Ari and Hoseok trying to push a tree unsuccessfully into the house. You stifle a laugh as you set down your luggage.

“Need any help?” you ask.

Ari glances at you saying, “No thanks. We almost got it in.” Doing a double take, Ari lets out a scream, startling both you and Hoseok. In one swift action, Ari runs towards you and brings you into one of her tight hugs. One you haven’t had since you were at the airport.

You smile happily as you welcome her crushing hug. You always knew you’d miss her hugs, but you never knew how much you’d miss them. As you two separate, you notice fresh tears streaming down your best friend’s cheeks. “Why are you crying?” you ask, laughing as you wipe away her tears.

“I thought you couldn’t come home,” Ari says, using the sleeve to her beige sweatshirt to wipe away the rest of her tears.

“I know, but I managed to finish early and got the first ticket out here. I couldn’t miss my best friend’s wedding,” you smile, bringing your white coat closer to your body for warmth.

Ari laughs, “This is the best gift I’ve ever gotten, and the wedding isn’t for another three days.”

From behind Ari, you see Hoseok move the tree out of the doorway and walk over towards the two of you. “Y/N,” he beams, bringing you into another tight hug. “I’m glad to see you’re back!”

“Me too.” You glance at the small backyard. The tiny space is full of flowers from roses to daisies. There’s a small, round table with two chairs off in the corner under an umbrella. It’s a beautiful garden that both Hoseok and Ari must have worked hard on.

You feel your best friend grab your hand, dragging you inside. You quickly grab your luggage before she pulls you inside the house, the tree long forgotten. Ari drags you down the white colored hallway you’ve seen numerous times on your calls, but she doesn’t give you a chance to take a look at all the photos hanging on the walls. You pass a few doors, some open while others are closed until she finally stops.

You finally take in your surroundings. Art paintings of flowers and trees hang on the milky white walls; picture windows in front of you have its white curtains drawn, blocking the view of the front yard. Three pale green sofas—one in the center and the other two facing each other at the sides, creating a sort of U, is in the center of the room. In the middle of the three sofas displays a clear glass coffee table. A lavish, white and green polka dotted rug lies under the table.

Ari leads you by your hand towards the closest sofa. Sitting next to her, you let yourself relax as Hoseok sits on the center sofa. As you sit back more, turning your body just a bit towards the two, you notice that on the wall behind Hoseok are photos of him and Ari. Others have you and Ari, all three of you, and even you and Yoongi. You really miss him.

“Like it?” you hear your best friend ask you, bringing your attention back towards her.

“Yeah. It feels like forever ago when it was only these past four years.”

“It does feel like it’s been a while,” Ari agrees, leaning an elbow on the armrest of the sofa. “Gave the four of us a whole wall while the rest of our friends and family share the wall with the fireplace.”

You look towards the wall at the opposite end where photos of unfamiliar people hang. You recognize her parents, some you guess may be her siblings with how similar they look. You’ve only met her parents—Ari’s siblings not living in town or the country, but they should be coming to town for her wedding. Others consist of Hoseok and his family. People you’ve never met.

“You’ll be staying here, right? Until you leave?” Hoseok asks. “You didn’t get a hotel or anything?”

“Oh, uh, I actually do have a booking–”

“Cancel it. You can stay here,” Hoseok interrupts, scooting forward in his seat to the point where he’s at the edge of the couch.

“Okay…” you reply in confusion, looking at Ari, but she’s just as confused as you.

“You’re more than welcome to stay,” Ari says, looking to you after a moment.

You nod, pulling out your phone from your coat pocket. “I’ll go ahead and call to cancel, and I guess I’ll change into pajamas since I’m not leaving anywhere.”

You stand up as Ari follows. “I’ll take your bag to our spare,” she states, letting you dig through your suitcase for your pajamas before taking the handle and pulling it down the hall. You follow her, opening a door she pointed to.

Entering the bathroom, you close the door behind you, pressing your phone to your ear as you wait for someone to answer. A woman answers the phone, and you begin your process in canceling your booked room. As you do so, you remove your pants, slipping on your sweats. Thankfully you were able to cancel your booking without any fees being made.

As you hang up, you place your phone on the counter. You look at yourself in the mirror. You look exhausted. You woke up at around two in the morning, and have been awake ever since. You know that the second you lay your head down on anything, you’ll fall asleep immediately. Hopefully you don’t start falling asleep while talking with Hoseok and Ari.

Removing your coat, you place it on the counter above your phone. You pull your shirt over your head, dropping it on top of your coat. You wipe your eyes, trying to rid of your tiredness. As you grab your pajama top, the bathroom door bursts open, causing you to jump, cover your chest as much as possible, and let out a gasp, a scream never making it past your lips.

You look to see Yoongi standing in the doorway, panting lightly as he looks at you. It feels as if time has stopped. Stopped so suddenly you’re unsure if he’s really here. If he’s really standing in front of you. You two haven’t talked in so long. Why is he here?

Why wouldn’t he be here? His best friend is getting married–of course he’d be here.

But why is he here?

How did he know you’d be here? In the bathroom?

It isn’t until later that night that you discover that Hoseok had texted Yoongi to let him know that you showed up at his house.

“Yoongi,” you whisper, still hesitant to believe that Yoongi would be here. Yoongi wastes no time in walking up to you, wrapping his arms around you and holding you so tight it feels welcoming. “Yoongi,” you say louder, wrapping your arms around him, holding him just as tight.

He’s here. He’s in your arms again. He came back to you.

Your hands are shaking as they clutch onto his sweater. You’re trying so hard not to cry, but your emotions are so hard to control. It’s like waves are crashing over one another, never showing any signs of stopping. He pulls back, cupping your cheeks, eyes searching yours. Searching for something you do not know of. Something he can only see. The gap between the two of you closes, and you feel his lips on your.

You feel whole again. As if time has finally continued on, but this time continues on with Yoongi.
