So, I really like doodling birds and, more specifically, bird wings. Something about the shape and structure catches my attention and refuses to let it go. A good understanding of the actual physical structure goes a long way in recreating things on paper. 

Anyway this is all from memory based on observations while eating chicken and from moments of studying a field guide of bird molting patterns on a whim. And I have no idea where I’m going with this but here’s a thing.

*meekly raises hand* most of my skill was built up with doodles in school notebooks. Often in place of any usable notes. ._.

this is a somewhat personal piece I made as a means to vent recently. Kinda a culmination of the events and anxieties that have, for better or worse, shaped me to who I am today. 

If anyone is reading this, mental health is an issue that deserves to be taken seriously- never deny yourself that if you share in these struggles. You are not alone, there are other people who understand.
