It all came running back. Everything that had happened.

All of it. All of those memories… along with what he had done. 

But yet, even after he had found a blade through his gut, he was now resting here. Lying down, with an arm that… that wasn’t one of those replicate 2Bs had ha…. 

Oh god. That was her, wasn’t it?! But…what if it was another fake!? That could have just been another one of the fakes he had fought in the Tower. Just another …just another for him to kill. 

“This…” For once, even Nines can’t find the words. For some reason, this feels different now. For certain, A2′s blade had pierced his body and had killed him. And yet now, here he was. Alive. Functioning as normal…. and she was lying there with him. 

“…2B…” No wait, that was wrong. This wasn’t 2B. He knew her actual designation, because he was useful… but not when he knew too much. “…2E…” Execution, this was his executor lying here. After all he had done, after all he had learned, maybe it would be nice. 

To just stop existing. To not have to think anymore. For his mind to just disappear and degrade until nothing existed of him anymore. 

Her killing him… maybe it wouldn’t hurt. 

“...? ....!”

That familiar tenor. She knows it far too well, she’s heard that voice call her name so many times. After the restoration had been successful, 2B had of course finally let herself rest. Considering how the Pods had informed her that her body had forced itself into an emergency shut down as a result of how hellbent she had been in retrieving the Scanner’s data from what remained of the tower--This was’t surprising.

The instant that 9S had reactivated for that short period of time had taken both an emotional and physical toll on her, but it appeared that he was now fully operational.

“9S...!”

Sitting up quickly, eyes glued to his form as a relieved smile appears upon her lips--It is the next name that leaves his mouth, that has that same gentle curve on her lips disappearing. 2E. Of course he’d found out eventually, that was inevitable no matter how many times they repeated that cycle, no matter how many times his blood stained her hands.

It felt like her chest was aching. 

Having been reaching out to touch him, the Battle unit froze like a statue, before her hand began to lower itself back to her side.
