Maybe the meaning of grief and loss is in a pair of welly boots; maybe healing is in a pair of shaking hands reaching for a thimble and thread. You gotta sit and cry in the shower sometimes, or have a meet cute at a party while wearing secondhand shoes, or make dumb “that’s what she said” jokes, and all of it is worthy of song. Your wrinkles and aching bones are works of art, and growing old is a matter of poetry. The ordinary is poignant and precious and your ordinary life is a thing of beauty.

Just…the epic and the everyday, the mythical and the mundane…how sometimes you need to stop making yourself small and take up space, take up power, howl your heart out until they write stories about you. But also here is a simple slice of life, an utterly prosaic moment—do you see that there are tales to be told here, too?

i think it is very depressing that like every aesthetic people try to emulate are of people doing things but they themselves are incapable of being somebody that does things… the mall goth 2005 aesthetic revived in 2022 but nobody goes to the mall to be annoying and weird and nobody lets themselves be cringe… the cottagecore aesthetic but nobody knows how to raise gardens or live self sufficiently … the dark academia aesthetic but nobody actually reads books….
