This And Thorin, Please? :)
This and Thorin, please? :)
You're standing before the entire population of Erebor, to be wed to the man who has your heart and your soul.
Thorin is looking at you, his eyes beginning to fill with tears. Your heart is pounding in both terror and excitement.
You lift you hands palm to palm, and then slips your fingers between each others. The binding ceremony is about to begin, and then you will finally be one with Thorin.
(Thank you for sending this in, love. I hope this was right and that I did the game correctly.)

What tattoo do they have, where and what’s the significance if there is any? - The Hobbit Edition
These are head canons. I let my imagination run wild with this one. Hope you have fun reading it. At least as much as I had writing it ;). Warnings: Mentions of tattoos, weapons, death, swearing too and the usual: this franchise doesn't belong to me.
UNBETA'D: And I'll probably die on that hill.
TAGS: @heilith @sotwk @asgardianhobbit98 @middleearthpixie @glassgulls @evenstaredits @fizzyxcustard
Note: Headcanon of mine: They have a common tattoo for the whole Company. It would probably be the symbol left on Bilbo's door the first time they all meet. Or an inside joke, at Bilbo's depend I'd wager.
Bilbo: No. None whatsoever. It never interested him in the first place. (That's what he tells Frodo, but he has the one with the Company, although he did complain the whole time about it. Once finished and satisfied with what it looked like, did not seem to bother him so much. He has it somewhere private, where he would not be showing it on accident to anyone, but somewhere he can also see like his calf or above his heart.)
Bifur (cousin to Bombur and Bofur): No one besides his kin knows, considering the axe in his head. I would feel a lot relating to battle and the history of his people. For the placement, arms, legs, some part of his torso, back, everywhere really. You have a needle some ink and a good design and he's in.
Ori (brother to Nori and Dori): The youngest. One. In common with the company. Wants to have more but his brothers are holding him back. He's brave but a little bit daft so they prefer to be sure they all survive before doing any crazy things. (He tried to get one tattooed of a grape of raisin as a bet with Fili and Kili. They stopped him before he could even ask)
Dori (brother to Ori and Nori): The oldest. He would never admit to it because he has some decorum, but he probably had a few made when he was drunk with his friends a long time ago. On unmentionable places (his left buttcheek for example) of unmentionable designs (wine bottles and/or naked ladies).
Bombur (cousin of Bifur): Loads of them. Very intricate details, portraits of dwarf-women, drawings he made himself of trees and prairies, very bucolic.
Gloin (Gimli's father): Not much. His wife's name when he was younger. She gave him grief for it but he never regretted it. A legendary axe along one of his thighs, the details are uncanny.
Nori (brother of Dori and Ori) : A dragon. He would get a dragon before the fall of Erebor and keep it as a reminder afterwards. He adds tons of coins and jewellery. It’s a whole piece on his back. Impressive work.
Oin: He is the tattoo artist, I feel. Old enough, some medical knowledge. Chances are he misinterpreted a few ones. He was taught in Erebor so he is not as steady as he used to, but he always manages to get someone's help everytime. He never lets anyone touch his tattoo stuff unless he is present. Himself has a harp and several instruments.
Fili: He’d have one with his brother, mother and uncle for the Durin line. Maybe behind his ear. I can see a beautiful blade, down the length of his torso from his upper ribcage to his hips.
Kili: Same for Fili. But he's a romantic so I'd say, on his inner arm or his wrist. He'd go for pieces of poetry, flowers and landscapes of mountains.
Dwalin : Everywhere. A lot of geometric figures are arranged in patterns he only knows the reason for. Fili and Kili have a theory about an escape he lead with those tattoos. Dwalin never denies nor confirms it, he finds it immensly hilarious to see them try to figure it out.
Bofur: Names of his lost ones. Pun jokes in drawings, different moustaches. If the chance comes, a portrait of his One on his lower back. Because he is a cheesy, cheesy dwarf.
Balin: One in common with Thorin, that’s for sure. Something they've been through together. One for the company.
Thorin: Words of poetry or song he’d adored as a younger dwarf, some symbolic ones like the one for the Durin line, and the one for the company. One of an animal, (I'm influenced by some drawings I saw though), something symbolic with a greater meaning. No decorative ones.
Bard: I don't think it ever crossed his mind. He'd consider it as a branding of sorts and between his kids, hiding his lineage and the loss of his wife, he has enough issues as it is.
Thranduil: Has enough scars for a lifetime. But if his lover has some he’d be fascinated. Honestly, repulsed at first because why would you scar your beautiful skin like this, but if they are his love, they have taste so the tattoo design would be one he quite enjoys too.

BRAVO!! A marvelous fix-it!!
Escape.
Summary: What if Fili had thought something seemed off, and heard Azog and his troop before walking into that death trap in the tower hallway on Ravenhill? A BOTFA fix-it / The Durins live fic.
Fandom: The Hobbit.
Rating: Teen
Warning: battle violence, character death ( none of the Durins).
"Stay here. Search the lower levels. I've got this."
As Kili reluctantly walked away to do his brother's bidding, a feeling of guilt came over Fili. Usually they'd do this sort of thing together ( well, he preferred not to think of the Troll incident. Getting eaten together with Kili and the others wasn't exactly his idea of doing things together, nor was rotting in Thranduil's dungeons), and this time was a strange exception. No Son of Durin ever did things separately, not at all. Even now, the two brothers were away from their uncle, too far away, in the event they or he was attacked.
He brushed it aside. They needed to find Azog and his warriors as quickly as possible, go back and tell Thorin and Dwalin, then take the whole band of Orkish filth out swiftly. Searching the watchtower separately would guarantee a better chance of finding them. Once the Orc filth was dead, it should break the Orkish army's morale, and so turn the odds in the others' favor.
Filth. Fili's lips twitched in a faint grin. He was beginning to sound like his uncle. Thorin certainly didn't use pretty names where Azog or any Orc was concerned. Gripping his sword, he made his way quietly ( for a Dwarf) through the watchtower.
Thanks to years of disuse, the halls were in ruin; Fili had to step carefully through some broken stones in one place. Having a troop of Orcs down on him because of a sound would mean swift death. As it was, it was very quiet in this hall he was now entering. It was a large one that split and ran in two different directions ahead of him.
Fili halted for a moment at the doorway, trying to decide which hallway to search. Mahal, it was so quiet here, he thought. Maybe the Orcs had escaped. Still, Thorin had said to search the place, then come back. He stepped out into the hall.
Suddenly Fili felt strangely unsettled. Something was wrong, uncannily wrong. The silence lay too heavy here, as if someone lay in hiding, waiting, ready to strike. Namely, a great white Orc named Azog the Defiler.
With all the stealth of a Halfling, Fili stepped back into the welcoming doorway he'd come through and strained his ears, listening. At first, nothing, just the faint sounds of battle below Ravenhill, the chilly breeze hissing on the stones above ( he must be near the tower's roof, he thought), and the vicious squeaking of some oversized bats or something outside; the sound seemed to be growing closer.
The faintest sound reached his ears then; the harsh whisper of armor scrapping against stone, as if someone had tried and failed at being stealthy. It came from far down the hall on his left.
Kili was downstairs; the other two were still outside; it left only one other person, or persons.
Fili turned and ran away down the hall, from what would've been a death trap had he stayed. He had to find Kili, and quickly. Azog was still here, and would no doubt carry out his oath to end the Line of Durin, right now, if he knew the two younger Dwarves were here too.
Downstairs, Kili halted, not far from the doorway whence the cold light poured in; he hadn't encountered any Orcs in the lower halls. After the excitement of the short skirmish earlier that still had his nerves humming, this was a bit dull.
Still, he didn't make any move to go up; Fili'd said he was searching the upper levels. Nor was he leaving, not until Fili came back; he was already getting worried for his brother as it was. The unsettling quiet, save for the roar of battle at the hill's foot, was getting on his nerves; what was Fili doing?
"Fili!" Kili was startled when his brother appeared wildly behind him in the lower levels. "Did you find-"
"We've got no time, Kee!" Fili pushed his brother into the wintery light outside. "Azog's here with his troop. We've got to get back and tell Thorin."
"Azog is here?!" Kili turned back, his fighting blood roused, but Fili stopped him. "No! We must do as Uncle said. Go!"
They ran out across the snow covered stones of the vast courtyard, and not a moment too soon...
Thorin was anxious, beyond measure, and not because of the battle; Bilbo's news of another Orc army arriving from the north, plus the realization that Azog had a trap set had added to it. And the lads were still there in the watchtower, which sent a chill through him.
"We'll live to fight another day," Thorin'd said, but he remained where he was. Somewhere, Azog was hiding, and despite the dangers of a trap, Thorin felt the heated desire to stay and finish this blood feud here and now.
"Thorin, we need to leave!" Bilbo was insistent.
"Not yet- wait!"
Thorin stiffened, then a savage growl of hatred and anger escaped him as he stared across the distance to the watchtower. Beside him, Dwalin growled too.
Fili and Kili were racing madly across the icy courtyard with several Orcs in hot pursuit; at the front was the vile Azog himself, swinging the cruel looking blade that replaced his arm. One swing came too close to Fili; the golden haired Dwarf barely managed to keep ahead.
With a fierce shout that echoed from the very stones of Ravenhill, Thorin raced towards his nephews and their pursuers, followed by his guardsman and a grim faced Bilbo. Azog had killed Thror, possibly Thrain as well, but by Mahal, Thorin swore, he was not going to let him kill his sister's sons too!
It was a savage battle, there on the icy field before it moved out onto the river, and despite the five warriors' fierceness, they were slowly getting outnumbered as Bolg's forces appeared. Thank goodness that Elf had showed up with his arrows, Fili thought as he and Dwalin took down a particularly large Orc; there was getting to be too many. Bolg was dead now; taken down by the Elf just as he'd cornered Kili at the waterfall's edge. For a moment, Thorin'd paused, thrown an almost grateful glance up at the ruined tower, then he'd resumed fighting.
"Think Thorin'll change his mind about Elves?" Kili panted as he caught up with Fili.
"Well, since that one just saved your life, I should say so," Fili replied, "but he may not make exceptions for Thranduil though, or yet," dodging a blow from yet another Orc.
Well, they did need to survive the battle first, Kili thought as he charged in again. He'd been too close to meeting his forefathers, a short while ago because of Bolg; the memory of the Orc's gleeful, hideous face still sent a shiver through him.
How Azog managed to survive the fierce battle, Fili didn't know, but here he, Kili, and Thorin all were, slowly surrounding the Defiler on the ice. Azog grinned malevolently, raising his great mace as he watched all three approach; a deadly calm Thorin, a cautious Fili, and a grim faced Kili.
Dwalin had gone after some Orcs who'd panicked at the Sons of Durin's battle fury and run, and the Burglar was nowhere in sight; it was just Azog and the three heirs of Durin now, here on this ice covered river. And judging from the Defiler's grin and manner, he was determined to take out all three.
He struck first; with a roar, Azog swung his mace in a wide circle around him. The trio ducked the deadly object quickly, then Thorin slashed the Orc's back with his sword. As a furious Azog turned after him, Fili let loose with a throwing knife that sunk into the Orc's arm. Azog roared with pain, and tearing out the blade, threw it at the brothers, then followed it up with the mace. They ducked, or rather Fili did; Kili raced under, taking advantage of Azog's undefended position to slash his knee, then he raced away.
Not quickly enough; Azog grabbed at the younger Dwarf's armor before he could run. He raised the deadly weapon for the killing blow.
"KILI!" Fili's horrified shout echoed off the icy stones. He dashed forward, hatred and fear vividly clear in his blue eyes.
"Kili! Fili!" Thorin was after him too, fear for his nephews and hatred rushing through his veins. Azog turned about swiftly, intent on killing them too; his grip relaxed on the younger Durin's armor. Kili wrenched loose, then skidded away across the ice to safety. Mahal, that was too close, he thought as he stood up rapidly, heart racing from his near brush with death. He now raced back to his brother and uncle's defense.
The mace thudded into the ice, halting Thorin and Fili in their heated run on the Orc, but the blond Durin was relieved to see that Kili had escaped. His thoughts were interrupted when Thorin pulled him back; Azog had just ripped the mace from the ice.
Now it was a standoff; Azog stood where he was, glaring viciously at the three Dwarves who'd eluded death with a surprising skill worthy of a Woodland Elf. For a moment, neither moved, despite the tension and the icy blast of the breeze. They knew how it would end, Fili thought; either Azog would manage to kill all three, or Thorin would succeed in ending the Defiler.
Then- with a roar, Azog raised and brought down the mace again; a brutal blow intended to end this battle.
"Move!" Thorin couldn't shove his nephews away swiftly enough. The mace crashed into the ice where Fili and Kili had been standing, sending a shower of ice splinters upwards. Azog tugged on the mace, frustrated that his almost victims had escaped again, but in vain. The mace had embedded deeply into the ice, enough to crack it in a wide radius around the four fighters.
Having gotten a safe distance away with the lads ( if such a thing was possible in Middle-earth with Azog still alive), Thorin glared back at the Orc as he made his decision, probably the most terrible one he'd ever had to make. But his people, his kinsfolk, would never be at peace while the Defiler lived, unless he carried it out. "Fili, Kili, I must take him down myself; don't follow me."
"You're not fighting him alone!" Kili was horrified.
"Uncle, you're not doing that alone!" Fili was adamant. "He'll kill you; he almost did back at the Misty Mountains. We're going with you to take him down."
"That's what he wants; all three of us together for him to kill at once and end the Line of Durin. It's better if I face him than having you boys face him with me. Stay there." With that, Thorin stepped cautiously across the shifting ice block to meet his old enemy.
There was no turning back now, Thorin thought grimly; either he would finally kill Azog, or die trying. Then- he dodged as the whistle of the cruel blade split the air, coming back up to lunge at Azog's unarmored side. The Orc bellowed with pain and stepped back, dark blood streaming down from the stab. As he did, the ice block lurched, causing the Defiler to stumble forward. Even so, his blade slashed Thorin's sword arm, causing the Dwarf to curse viciously in Khuzdul. It wasn't deep, but it hurt enough to slow Thorin down.
That was enough for the boys; with a shout, Kili raced forward, followed by Fili. He wasn't about to stand and watch his uncle, the only father figure he'd known since his childhood, be slain. Neither was Fili; he stabbed the Orc's hand as the latter reached to clutch Thorin. The sound of his bellow was music to the blond Durin's ears.
Then, before the Defiler could rise to meet the reassembled trio with his blade, they brought their swords down for the kill, aiming for his unarmored side and neck...
Another silence, a good one, fell after Azog's harsh breaths ceased. Even then, Thorin drove his blade deeply again into the Defiler, one last time, for insurance. For Thror.
Fili felt Kili leaning against him; he put his arm around his brother's shoulders. This had been a tough battle to win, he thought. But it was over now, and a heavy weariness now settled upon him.
"Fee, I am so tired," Kili sighed.
"Me too. I feel as if we'd fought Azog all day." Fili started when the ice block teetered. "Move!"
The boys and Thorin leaped to solid ice, just as the block tipped sideways. With a harsh clatter that grated their ears, Azog's body slid off the block into the icy waters beneath, sinking from their sight, never to rise again.
So passed Azog the Defiler, slayer of Thror.
For a moment, Thorin stood watching the empty, bloodied ice block, then he turned around to face his nephews. Fili started; he'd never seen his uncle look so angry since he'd nearly killed the Burglar that morning; his blue eyes flashed fire.
"Why did YOU run in to fight? You boys could've died!!" Thorin thundered. "What would your mother have said?"
"She'd be very upset- if YOU'D died, Thorin! If we hadn't jumped in, Azog would've killed you!" Kili shouted.
"I ordered you two to stay back! I refuse to lose you both too!" Thorin came closer.
"Thorin, you're our King, and our uncle; we couldn't afford to lose you!" Fili chimed in. "And I wasn't going to let Kili go alone! We've never run from a fight before, none of us, and we weren't going to stand around and watch you die."
"I-" For once, Thorin was speechless. He stood there, glaring at his gloriously stubborn nephews. Where had that exceptional stubbornness come from, he wondered.
From you, his mind supplied helpfully.
"Well..." Thorin was at a loss of words. He met his nephews' stares again. This time, Fili could've sworn he saw a suspicious shimmer in his uncle's eyes; Kili was positive it was a shimmer.
Then the two young Durins were locked in Thorin's strong embrace; never before had it felt so warm and comforting. Maybe it was because they'd almost lost Thorin again, Kili thought. Maybe it was because they were alive and together, and home at last, Fili thought.
As for Thorin, he was relieved that his nephews were alive and safe, free from Azog’s threat. He drew them closer, breathing thanks to Mahal that they’d all survived.
The boys hugged their uncle with equal strength, and gratitude, gratitude that they were still here and alive on this icy hill, alive to welcome their people home at last to Erebor.
Epilogue:
Bilbo was not only forgiven for taking the Arkenstone; he forgave Thorin for his words and deeds on the ramparts, and departed for home with a modest amount of treasure, along with a promise to return and visit ( after telling the Company they were welcome to come and visit).
Dis and the rest of the Dwarves soon came from the Blue Mountains to their new home. Naturally, after letting her family know what she thought of them risking their lives against Azog, she embraced them, grateful they’d lived.
After paying Bard his rightful claim on the treasure, Thorin, after much thought, returned the White Gems of Lasgalen to Thranduil, thus making amends for Thror’s action long ago, and healing the breach in the relations between the two kingdoms.
The rest of the Company stayed on at Erebor, and so they all lived happily ever after, to the end of their days.
