The temporal lobes have the following functions:

1. Generate memory and emotions 2. Process immediate events in recent and long-term memory 3. Storing and retrieving remote memories 4. Interpret sounds and images, which allows us to recognize other people and objects, and integrate hearing and speech In most people, part of the left temporal lobe controls language comprehension. If this part is damaged, verbal memory is often considerably impaired, as is the ability to understand language, called Wernicke's (receptive) aphasia (see Recognizing a person with aphasia table).

If certain areas of the right temporal lobe are damaged, memory for sounds and music is affected. Consequently, people may have trouble singing.

After the accident, Macaque went fully mute for almost twenty years. He realized his memory was affected, and many songs and poems he wrote went forgotten.

Panic consumed him during all those years, feeling like his legacy was going to be forgotten. For twenty years he wrote and wrote and wrote without rest; plays, poems, books, memories, songs...

But all was for nothing, he couldn't remember the notes for his songs, neither the lyrics nor the lines of the plays, books went unfinished, and poems were destroyed. Memories went forgotten little by little, he didn't notice, no when he wondered where was he, and no when he asked who the other two macaques behind him were.

And Wukong?

He wasn't there. He escaped like a coward.

In his Youth? He would curse in every sentence he spoke, drink like his life depended on it, and would dance "seductively" very often when drunk (leaving many people blue-balled, oops!) not only that, at the time his way of dressing was considered as a perversion.

Then he went from Japan to South Asia, where his alcohol consumption was getting stronger, which made him more and more shameless. He even went to the point of laying with strangers and not remembering their names the day after.

Bro was wild.

One day there was a party, a big royal one, there he met Wukong, though none of them knew who the other was, still, they danced and drank all night...and the monkey king lost his virginity but that's another story

He kept this lifestyle until he meet Princess Iron Fan, who at that moment wasn't a celestial yet, they bounded and became sworn brothers and sisters. This abruptly interrupts his necessity to drink, so he accompanies her to North China. Once there they split and went their own ways.

Let's have a time skip, once in the Brotherhood Macaque was still a sharp-tongued man with a sarcastic sense of humor. He wasn't shy, he just didn't know what to talk about with his brothers, they talked about war and partnership, but Macaque was more of strategy and literature. The only one he could talk to was Wukong, but he started to ignore him more and more each day.

So shameless? A little bit. But he wasn't the mf he was before, that's for sure.
