Imagine your F/O holding you and rocking you while you cry, and shake, thinking about the terrible things that you haven't stopped your F/O from doing, that you've even participated in.

Imagine them soothing and comforting you while you come to grips with just how far you are willing go for them, and how nothing matters to you as much as your love for them matters.

hey. hey. if you have an f/o who fights in their source media (even if they don’t) very important that you imagine them after a fight: hair messed up, maybe, clothes disheveled, perhaps with a few rips in them — maybe a cut on their cheek.

bonus fluff. imagine they come to you, tired, slumping forward to hug you — maybe they’re usually this open, or maybe it’s rare, but they’re vulnerable with you right now and they trust you.

hi sorry for everyone with really put together composed professional f/os it's VITAL you imagine them without that mask of perfection. if they're always dressed up you need to imagine them as day turns to night and ties are slanted or undone and jackets unbuttoned and dress shirt sleeves are pushed up in private. they normally would rather drop dead then be seen in this kind of state, but it's different when it's you seeing them. they don't worry as much about it, comfortable enough with your presence to let slip humanity through cracks and gaps (they've already stolen your heart by now, they jest, they wouldn't be foolish enough as to let go of it at this point.).

if its their demeanor, imagine how they let loose in that regard. maybe they get more playful, falling next to you on the couch just to throw their legs over yours in what is clearly a bid for attention, smirked words of how comfortable they are like this, surely you wouldn't push them off and leave them so depsaired and cold, right? maybe they're more sincere with their words, not having to keep them professional and strict, able to openly ask about you in manners so clearly caring and intimate. questions about how your day was, about anything interesting you've seen recently, about if you've got spare time for them to take up. maybe it's just sincere compliments and confessions of care whispered quietly but come off clear enough to break the sound barrier. or something like that.

Selfship care: Something I would like to recommend to all my fellows selfshippers. Make Pinterest boards of your selfships. It doesn't matter how many you have. Put on your headphones, listen to your favorite songs as you're pinning images that remind you of your ship, of your f/o, if you want to keep it a secret you can make the board private. But it's something I recommend, it feels good, it's a step to be closer to your f/o, I promise you will feel their warm embrace from afar.

And every time you miss them you can simply go to your board, pin more stuff, organize it, it's your little space next to your f/o after all.

F/O-related creative ideas

Print out a photo of your F/O and decorate it with stickers!

Fill a notebook with only things about your selfship

Make a bracelet with your names on it with letter beads

Make a collage or scrapbook page themed around your F/O

Use shrinky dink paper to make a keychain!

Pick a pattern on friendship-bracelets.net to make a bracelet themed around your F/O

Draw your F/O or print out a coloring page of them and use pieces of masking tape to "color" it

Print and frame pictures of your F/O to decorate your room

Create fake trading cards of your F/O

Customize a stuffed animal to look like them (it can be as simple as adding a bow around their neck with ribbon!)

Buy a locket to put a picture of your F/O inside

Put a picture of your F/O inside your phone case

Make custom pinback badges of them with a pin machine

imagine your villain f/o trying to cheer you up when someone's been hurtful to you. you're clearly upset, so they hold you and start talking about all the things they'd do to that person to avenge you, exactly how they'd hurt them and make them pay, but in a soft, playful voice, and it helps you feel better, because even if someone else wants to be mean to you, there'll always be someone viciously fighting for you on your side. <3

Imagine your villainous f/o being absolutely merciless with everyone else. They're unwavering, unflinching, never backing down to any opposition, and that's what everyone knows them for as the villain they are.

But with you? Oh, they'll make exceptions for you, of course. They love you, after all. What's the point of love if you won't make exceptions for your beloved? The way their gaze softens as they enter the room, the way their touch gently caresses your cheek... Something nobody else would ever see from someone like them.

So, it’s a very real possibility that my f/o could die…. Which like- due to slow updates, I’ve grappled with for a WHILE. So basically…. This is the fucked up future version of my s/i wherin they kill the dude who may or may not end up killing my f/o.

Unfortunately, since that dude is probably immortal, they had to do some deals with death and lost an eye (it’s now all spooky and magical) and got gray hair that sometimes turns black when activating those aforementioned spooky and magical powers that they gained from that interaction.

This is like… years later- no particular context other then they’re ready to DESTROY you <3

Also they met f/o in a normal warm desert but after loosing him live in a frozen desert THE PARALLELS!!!

Your f/o's voice in your ear. Their laugh, the warmth of their words. Whenever they speak, a bubbly feeling wells up from deep inside you - a contented, blissful feeling that never fails to make you smile. It certainly wouldn't be difficult to listen to them talk for the rest of time, especially if it means you get to hear them tell others and you just how much they adore you in all the possible ways and more.

Being captivated by their voice is only natural when you love someone this much. Rest assured, your f/o loves your voice just the same, and they will be sure to hang on your every word, as well.

This is a reminder that it is okay to gush, get excited, and feel happy about your comfort characters and f/os. You are allowed to feel and experience the joy they give you without guilt or shame.
