OK so correct me if I’m wrong buuuut didn’t Spider Queen specifically have a past empire? Like she called herself the Empress of Terror…so Spider Empress real or am I reading too much into that? Whatever the case, it just occurred to me that it’s very likely (unless Wukong did his Wukong thing like he did in Journey to the West) there are survivors of the original Spider Empire somewhere. The writers didn’t expand on Spider Queen’s past, but judging by how empires are huge and people come & go I highly doubt the whole population was conveniently there for Wukong to smash to bits. So, food for thought, is it possible the Spider Queen could have spider demons living in secluded areas awaiting her return? We do have the seven Spider Demonesses from the original Journey to the West (I headcanon those were her sisters since it would make a round 8, a number often associated with spiders) so there could be spiders who didn’t live near the empire’s capital city. Judging by how Season Four looks (bleugh) we won’t be getting the answers I would need to confirm or nix this theory… …but that doesn’t stop me from writing up OCs/headcanons/story ideas for it. If anyone would like me to elaborate or has questions feel free to ask I will gladly talk at length about this, I’ve got stashes of stuff I’ve written for the Spider Queendom.

I don’t usually post about losing our trans siblings but Eden Knight, a popular Twitter user, is being ignored by media. Her story seriously deserves more coverage. Eden was a young Saudi trans woman living in the U.S. until yesterday. Her family hired a popular Heritage Foundation-backed “fixer,” Michael Pocalyko, who arranged for her to undergo forced detransitioning. His associates trapped her in D.C. through financial coercion and threatened her with her undocumented status. She couldn’t take it anymore after a month of this treatment. She left a heartbreaking note that has been shared on Twitter thousands of times. The popular phrase “death before detransition” isn’t an exaggeration.

Not only was Eden influential in her own right but her story shows how the broader landscape of anti-trans fundamentalist organizing reaches across borders, religions, and ideologies. If you’re in media, please consider writing about her story. Her family has now confirmed all of it. Her family just confirmed everything. Unlike many posthumous trans narratives, she left us with information about exactly who/what killed her and how it happened. I’ve been in touch with her partner, who is as shocked about this information as we are. This dehumanizing treatment needs to end immediately. IN EPISODE ONE WHEN THE SCROLL DOES ITS SPOOKY INK THING AND GOES THROUGH THE DIFFERENT PEOPLE WUKONG WRONGED IN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER, IN THE ENGLISH DUB WE HEAR MACAQUE'S VOICE SAY "YOU'RE NOTHING". EXCEPT HERE'S THE THING: HE NEVER SAID THAT TO WUKONG THAT WE KNOW OF. THE ONLY TIME HE SAID IT, IN THAT TONE IN PARTICULAR, IS TO MK!

HERE'S MY THEORY. WHAT IF WHEN THE SCROLL OPENED UP, BECAUSE IT WAS BEING HELD BY MK BUT WUKONG HAPPENED TO BE THERE AS WELL, IT SHOWED THEM BOTH THE THINGS THEY REGRET?!?!? BOTH THEIR PAINFUL MEMORIES?

THINK ABOUT IT. THAT SPECIFIC LINE WITH MACAQUE WOULDN'T MAKE SENSE OTHERWISE. I ALSO FIND IT INTERESTING THAT THE SPIDER QUEEN SHOWED UP IN THE INK AS WELL, AND THEN INK MK TAKES ON SOME SPIDER FEATURES WHEN HE IS FIGHTING REAL MK.

Obviously there's some sort of history between the Queen and Wukong as well, however that wasn't explored in the episodes she was in/the New Year's special. The last time MK saw the Queen was when she told him to run.

MK feels such immense guilt for not saving her that she manifested as a painful part of the scroll's curse.
