Platonic Comfort Oneshot!

The Mayor knew how much his lovely intern enjoyed their job with him at the office. He tried to make things as fun as he could with what he was given, which honestly wasn’t a lot simply because…well, it was politics. His intern met every deadline, went to every meeting, really did more than asked of them and he could never truly show them how grateful he was for them. But as of late they were ignoring him. Always writing notes. Always rushing to and fro. He hardly had the speed to catch up with them and ask them what was going on. But that stopped today—he was going to call a meeting with them directly so he could figure out what was wrong.

He sat at his large desk and fiddled with some loose pencils while he waited for them to enter. If he was correct—he usually was—they would be here in three, two…

“Ah, sorry I’m late! I wasn’t watching the time, I got caught up in some emails—“

“Y/n, relax. You’re right on time.” He cut them off, gesturing to the seat across from him. He saw a little weight leave their shoulders, but he could also see how much remained. Yikes.

“Oh. That’s good, then!” They sat down stiffly. It was like they were a ticking time bomb, bound to explode any second. “What’s going on? What can I do?”

“Well, what you can do for starters is tell me why you’ve been ignoring me. I hope I haven’t done anything to upset you.”

“No, no, not at all! I’ve just been trying to get everything done and it’s all on my own.” They waved their hands to dismiss the thought. His smile remained consistent, however his brows furrowed. Now that they were across from him, he could see the deep dark circles under their eyes.

“Why are you doing it on your own? You’re not supposed to do my whole job for me!”

“I just don’t want to stress you out. You should be able to relax!” They insisted.

“Dear y/n, I appreciate that. But trust me. I’ve got the right balance of work and life. However you seem to have the opposite. According to the charts, you’ve been pulling a lot of overtime. And my suspicion is that you’ve been going even beyond that at home.”

He tried to meet their eyes. But they only stared at the ground as their frown deepened. He could see them trying not to cry.

“Y/n? Here, have some water, alright? Take your time and talk to me.” He reached into the mini fridge he had under his desk and handed them a small bottle of water that they took with tremorous hands. But once they had successfully opened it, the first tears fell. From there, the whole dam burst open, and he got up and went around his desk to console them with a box of tissues in hand.

“I’m sorry, sir. I really am. I don’t know what to do.” They sobbed. Their shoulders were hunched in as they gripped at their own arms.

“No need for apologies, alright? I promise. You’re not in trouble, no one is upset at you. In fact, everyone is quite impressed with you!” He patted them on the back. “You need to tone it down. I will help you to split work evenly between you and me, okay? We’re a team!”

“Yeah, we are!” They laughed in between tears. He stayed with them, and when his phone rang, he went and told them to call back later. This was far more important, in his opinion.

“Do me a favor. Go on your lunch break—do not take any kind of work with you—and then when you get back, come see me. We’ll sort you out. Does that sound good?”

Their sobs had reduced to sniffles by now and he was happy to see them able to breathe properly again. They nodded and dusted themselves off.

“Thank you, Mayor. I appreciate it.”

“Anytime, dear y/n.”

I read your lmk characters visiting your parents and can I just say that I love your writing very much! Especially the emotions and feelings being within them. Do you mind doing another few LMK characters visiting your parents as well just like previous one? The following characters I have in mind are Mayor, Syntax and MK?

Mayor, Syntax, and MK Meeting S/O's parents Headcanons! (Romantic!)

Mayor - this man does everything to blend in and impress people. It’s not everyday that someone chooses to date a zombie, so he wants to make sure no matter what he is dating his s/o and is accepted by their parents. He probably brings along something for dinner that he made himself, to show them that he’s skilled. He’s very chill, but s/o knows he’s worried. Their parents welcome him very warmly, and he is more than relieved. He loves that they’re so loving toward their child and are accepting him. They talk about everything, like what it’s like for him to be mayor, how long he’s been seeing s/o, etc! By the end of the night, he goes home with s/o feeling very happy.

Syntax - oh lord. He’s fully prepared for the worst. He’s not only a menacing half spider, he’s got little to no social skills. It was a miracle for him to end up dating someone so sweet, but it’ll take another miracle for him to make it through this meeting. But he is SHOCKED when the parents are just….chill? With him being there, dating their kid? Shaking through every conversation, still processing the fact this is happening, man’s is anxious. But they love him and how intelligent he is, and how well he clicks with his s/o. After he gets home, he cries about it, but it’s more because he’s happy he won’t have to worry about it anymore.

MK - sweet boy still being sweet. He’s the least worried out of everyone when it comes to this scenario. Pigsy helps him make some kind of baked goods to bring with him to the meeting. And when he actually meets the parents, it’s the easiest interaction of his life! They’re super nice to him, they treat him almost like he’s their own son, it’s SO wholesome. He answers any questions they have about his powers and what not very honestly. It’s no sweat for him to make a good impression! The parents would definitely be like “oh he’s such a nice young man, you should bring him around more often!” And they are RIGHT. 100/10

anyways heres a couple thoughts of things i’d like in LMK s4 or later on

Red Son and DBK go on a father-son bonding fishing trip. MK also goes, but he either goes with Wukong (funny cause I believe Wukong sucks ass at any and all water related activities including fishing), or Sandy and Pigsy (funny cause they’d both be chillin’ patiently but I’m very certain MK’s ADHD would get the better of him here).

volleyball. I will not elaborate. It could be any other sport really but i REALLY want it to be volleyball.

MUSICAL. EPISODE.

something with mirrors as a plot line please!!! I love magic mirrors,,

Tang, Sandy, and Pigsy actively addressing the fact they’re most likely reincarnations while Wukong is there. please I just really want some lore or interaction based on this it would be so *(chefs kiss)* delicious.

I want Macaque to have at least one running joke. I want him to do something really stupid in the first episode he shows up in and I want him to repeat it every time because I’m so certain it’d just get FUNNIER every time. To be specific in order for this to land he either has to NOT have planned it. He might lean into whatever the joke is but he definitely did NOT PLAN IT.

at least one birthday party to give one character a canon birthday we can celebrate

if the next villain is a slightly more comedic one I want an episode of every single one of their plans going horrifically wrong. its a very funny trope.

Macaque and Wukong’s “get along sweater” (could be them getting handcuffed together, could be fusion, could be them getting trapped. I just want them to work through their issues)

Pigsy takes a day off and everyone else struggles to run the Noodle Shop without him
