Woe, baby turtles be upon ye!!

I may or may not have created a baby toitle doodle that I turned into a base, and I’ve been drawing teetles on it nonstop

Of course I had to test it with everyone’s favourite brothers, but I’ve also been collecting references of people’s turtlesonas in a TMNT discord server, and I’ve drawn as many as I can and they’re all ADORABLE!! I’ve mentioned as many people as I can find, but if I’m missing anyone let me know!

The main story behind the this AU actually started from a simple concept of me re-watching Arcane and thinking how interesting Donnie would be as Jinx, and wanting to sketch a few ideas. This led to me wondering about the other boys and everything spiraled into splitting them up as follows: Donnie grew up with Draxum from the beginning as his personal test subject, driving him mad like Jinx. Leo and Mikey get separated from Splinter and Raph about five years after Splinter escapes with them. Leo gets kidnapped by the Foot clan where Shredder is alive and trains him as his pupil as revenge against Splinter. Mikey finds his way into to Big Mama’s loving arms until she gets bored of him and throws him into her Battle Nexus. Raph is the only one to stay and be raised by Splinter, who is more diligent in his teachings. He befriends April and they grow up together, training to become ninja. Eventually the boys find each other again.

Mikey’s rescue arc is the starting point of the story!

As far as anyone looking to make something based of the Separated AU, I am totally okay with most anything as long as credit is given but I will not be chill with tcest of any kind. I also ask you include no romance (And I’m actually only saying this cause maybe possibly, eventually, there’s a chance we’ll see a few characters down the line. I have some plans 😇).

You can absolutely make anything that covers the things I’ve already mentioned in my replies, or if it’s just fam shenanigans, hanging out and dealing with recovery. I would love to see it and share it! You don’t have to bother with asking for the O.K. in that case. But I do ask that you maybe hold off on anything anyone might consider plot related or that’s not been addressed in the asks, and would be mostly speculation, cause I’ll be covering a whole host of before, and after reunion events, either in quick sketch comps or comics. If you’re still unsure you can always ask me. I would consider myself pretty easy going, so I’ll probably only say no if I think it’s something I have plans for, or if it really just doesn’t fit with the feel of the AU. I’m more likely to say yes if you have an idea of what you wanna do. Please, be specific in your ask, if you can. I don’t like telling people flat out no, so the more info I have the better!

Welcome to the Bloodbath.

Despite it’s name, the AU itself isn’t all about

blood guts and murder.

However, it does have its fair share of blood/gore cws, so proceed with caution.

The bloodbath AU revolves around the idea of Splinter having the reputation of the most deadly assassin. When he mutates, Lou Jitsu is only able to save one of the turtles, the rest somehow find their ways to different parental figures. It happens to be a strike of misfortune when these figures happen to be the very people who ruined Lou Jitsu’s life in the first place.

However, surprisingly, these ‘villains’ from Lou Jitsu’s life turn over a new leaf after unexpectedly finding themselves attached to their respective turtles. All ends up well and happy for these newfound families, having been brought joy in the form of these turtles. For Lou Jitsu/ Hamato Yoshi, it’s different.

He’s unable to let go of the past, and of his grudging hatred for those who wronged him.

However, he tries to remain sane for the sake of his adopted son, Leonardo. The life of a mercenary is no life for a child, and despite the coldness in his heart brewing from his trauma he wishes to keep Leo away from the harmful lifestyle.

This proves to be futile. After all, Leonardo was made in Lou Jitsu’s image.

They all were.

Bloodbath follows the story of all four turtles reuniting, bonding and eventually becoming one as a family. They’ll learn that family does whatever it takes to protect each other, even if that means covering up murder for your brother.

I totally get wanting to make your book annotations ~aesthetically appealing~ I also like mine to look pretty, but I have such a hard time understanding the people who annotate every single thing in the book. When I see a book with underlines, highlights, circles, sticky notes, scribbled notes in the margins, and tabs all over every single page— it makes me wonder if the person actually cares about critically analyzing the book, or if they’re just doing it for the aesthetic.

Here’s a few examples of what I mean, I don’t want to take anyone’s photos so I’m just gonna share the pinterest links for them. But here are some examples of what I would consider “over annotating”: X X X X X X X

It sort of reminds me of my younger self, back in school, when I’d basically highlight the entire text book because… well everything seemed like it was super important and I needed to remember all of it lol. It wasn’t until I left school that I realized doing this made it really hard for me to remember anything about what I read. I wasn’t actually consciously thinking, evaluating, absorbing the information; simply highlighting it all because everything is important.

As I’ve gotten older, better read, and more confident in my own abilities to discern what is and isn’t important to retain and analyze; I’ve noticed my own annotations become more selective. Of course I still have a million thoughts, but not important enough to permanently put into the books themselves. Instead I use a few sheets of paper, write my thoughts on those, and paper clip it into the front cover of the book.

I also noticed that a lot of the overdoing is done most by people who prefer genre fiction over literature fiction. Which is why I’m assuming it’s mostly for the aesthetic of appearing to be more critically engaged with the content then you actually are. Idk. Or maybe they really are that deeply affected by the story and really think every single sentence, word, scene, conversation etc. is important enough to think critically about and make note of.

Maybe I'm the only one, but does anyone else think Jennika from the IDW comics and Cassandra from ROTTMNT look scarily similar? Like, I know they're two completely different characters, there's no doubt about that, but their designs just look so similar to me, which is just amplified by the fact that Jennika also has short hair.

Just some food for thought.

Edit: Forgot to mention that Jennika was also part of the foot clan👀

How I Think Donnie And Casey Would Think Of April After Realizing Their Messed Up Relationship

I feel like Donnie would distance himself more from April, out of apology for sort of stalking her but also because she led him on for so long. Because lets be real he probably would’ve stopped being kinda creepy if April shut him down. He hangs more with Casey and has a lot more fun with him than he ever did with April. Casey started realizing April was kind of an asshole constantly leading both of them on. So he also started spending more time with Donnie. Eventually they stopped really caring for April, April started getting a bit upset they weren’t paying attention to her as much as before but they don’t care.
