Also numbers would be higher if women who were raped got better medical help ( found out they were pregnant earlier ) , most women who chose not to abort because the found out late in the pregnancy . Pro life rhetoric requires viewing pregnancy as a passive process. It assumes pregnancy is a state where either the baby is allowed to grow up and be born, or else it is selfishly killed. There is no acknowledgement that women do not let babies be born, they build them and every stage of the process real labour and "actual action" is going on.

Pregnancy is work, it is a strenuous process where you BUILD and create a whole fucking human being and that foetus' developmental process is inseparable to its mother's continued active labour, to which the mother is entitled to stop at any time because again women aren't containers for babies and to reduce the mountain of blood sweat and tears women have to go through to a matter of "a natural, passive process" and an "inconvenience" is to suggest the baby is doing this all by itself and just needs a place to sit and the woman is selfishly saying that the baby cannot sit there. That at any moment, a woman must be willing to build this baby or else she is depriving it of deserved resources. Where are her rights to keep those resources for herself? Pro lifers are just classical misogynists who believe women are vessels who cease their right to autonomy and their own bodies' resources (and health, safety, comfort) as soon as there's a foetus in her uterus.
