Now Ill Be The First To Say That Ive Never Fully Watched The Halo Tv Show But I Know A Lot Of How It

Now I’ll be the first to say that I’ve never fully watched the halo tv show but I know a lot of how it differs from the games and the thing that I think that was important about master chiefs character that the show doesn’t get is that chief is hardly a person. Now please don’t get me wrong, he is a person by all means, but it’s no secret that chief was never meant to be a deep or interesting character originally, he was originally written to be a near-silent blank slate protagonist just for the sole purpose of having someone for the player to project themselves onto, but there’s still a reason he’s so personality-less, he never had the chance to develop one. From age 6 he was raised by the UNSC to be a soldier and nothing else, he had an extremely sheltered and doctored upbringing, he never experienced any typical coming of age problems or experienced art and culture, he only ever knew his purpose was to protect those who could experience those things. the man is fucking EMPTY, he isn’t personable because he almost doesn’t believe he is a person, to himself he’s nothing but a soldier, something separate from a person, and it’s not until halo 4 that he’s introduced to the POSSIBILITY that this mindset is toxic. To me what’s so fascinating about him (and is what I think a good direction for 343 to take his character) is that you take this man who never had a problem in his life that couldn’t be solved by putting a bullet in it, and suddenly give him a problem that isn’t so simple, that challenges who he is and what he should do, and then see what he does, and slowly but surely you see this man recognize that he is in fact human, not just a soldier. You get to see how he deals with regret, grief, and his sense of identity, and hopefully we get to see more of that cause it’s so powerful and I can’t think of any other media to my knowledge that really attempts that kind of unique character arc. Literally halo infinite made me cry because I got to see chief more embrace that he is human, that no matter how unstoppable and perfect he is, he has to recognize the fact that he has problems, and he needs more than just himself to fix them.

and then you got tv master chief who’s an amnesiac who had a former life who goes on to have a SEX SCENE WITH AN ALIEN DIPLOMAT

Edit: also for clarification, chief has sex with a HUMAN woman who works for the covenant, not like he had sex with an elite or some shit lmao

here's a little news: they've cut off our internet connection like they did 3 years ago when the entire Bloody Aban situation was going on, and I'm one of the few lucky people with a tiny bit of access to come on here and literally BEG you to spread the word. people are on the streets getting killed. a 10 year old girl was shot, several teens are dead. women are being shamelessly fucking beaten (in Mahsa's case, to DEATH) by the same people who cry over historic islamic women being tortured or misbehaved a thousand years ago. do not stay silent.

Hello my friends. I have been absent from tumblr because I was dealing with my health issues. I'm relatively fine and safe.

I've seen that I have many notes and messages. Unfortunately I can't answer them right now. The Internet connection is really weak and any moment it can be shut down. I'm only back to ask you a favor. You might have heard what's going on in Iran right now. If you don't know watch this.

The internet speed is so low that I can't upload any photo or video. Follow #مهسا_امینی , #MahsaAmini on twitter or instagram for more info.

Iranians have been in the streets all over Iran since then. They are protesting, women burning their headscarves and wanting regime change. It's a revolution. And the regime is shooting at people and killing them. They blocked Instagram and WhatsApp last night. The only remaining available social media apps that you could use without a VPN. They're also shutting down Internet so the world doesn't know about their atrocities.

So please be our voice. We need global support more than ever. Don't let your politicians and governments normalize this inhuman, criminal and terrorist regime and the negotiations with them. Islamic Republic don't represent Iranians. They are fighting with us and murdering us. Please reblog this and be our voice.

An Alaska Native Group Decided To Make A Video Game. Its Like Nothing Youve Ever Played Before.

An Alaska Native group decided to make a video game. It’s like nothing you’ve ever played before.

One of the most groundbreaking, critically acclaimed, and delightful video games of 2014 began in a highly unlikely place — Anchorage, Alaska.

It’s called “Never Alone” (or “Kisima Ingitchuna”). And it wasn’t developed by Nintendo, Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, or any of the other big game studios.

It was the brainchild of the Cook Inlet Tribal Council (CITC) — a nonprofit community support organization for Alaska Natives and their families.

And while many Alaska Native communities are struggling to hold on to their identities in the 21st century, the council saw “Never Alone” as both a way of becoming more financially self-sufficient and a necessary new method of transferring cultural knowledge from one generation to the next.

The bloodbath has begun, a huge part of protesters are teenagers and people in their early 20s, the anti riot forces has official order to shoot protesters now, the rate of body counts are peaking, There has been a couple of victories for people these past hours but there also has been a lot of causalities, the internet connection is lost in most cities, we're afraid but it looks like no one's backing down. We don't need USA or UN to help us. I've never been more proud of my people.
