Every discord I’ve ever been in has had a pets channel. I like that about humans. Our companions will never understand this form of affection, yet we still love them so much that we make space for them even in a virtual communities. We care regardless of whether it can be understood or returned.

a sound can mean so much. a mourning dove’s call makes me remember king of the hill with my sibling and cozy afternoons. a song makes me think of my friends and how much i love them. a wave crashing on sand makes me remember the smell of salt and sweat, the dark gray-brown of the ocean against the yellow-brown of the beach. take time to notice the world around you today

Caves are weirder and more varied than you think

the thing that screws me up about this post is i originally saw it not that long before experiencing burnout myself

i remember feeling awful, but even more so, enraged that the world (my mother) got upset with me because i hit my limit

they didn't want me to stop being upset they just wanted their worker bee back their little soldier

since then, i have followed this post to the letter, except i for a while i felt guilty about it sometimes do not feel guilty everyone needs rest pushing yourself is far, far worse

in fact, in the afterword for 1984, the book on dystopia, it says that while the book is a reflection of the nature of communist, totalitarian regimes of the USSR and communist china, it is also a reflection of the bureaucratic, industrial hell that the US is

in short, rest is important, and the lack of it is a feature of a great many dystopias

Something I made while dealing with my own stuff and hoping drawing this would pick me up somehow. Maybe it worked.
