series masterlist

“Say it’s all right (it’s all right). Say it’s all right (it’s all right). It’s all right, have a good time. ‘Cause it’s all right, whoa, it’s all right. We’re gonna move it slow. When lights are low. When you move it slow, it sounds like more. And it’s all right, whoa, it’s all right. Now listen to the beat. Kinda pat your feet. You got soul, and everybody knows. That it’s all right, whoa, it’s all right. When you wake up early in the morning. Feelin’ sad like so many of us do. Hum a little soul. Make life your goal. And surely something’s got to come to you” - Solomon Burke
It was a beautiful sunrise. It was the kind of sunrise that you’d felt in your bones even before you’d fully woken up. It washed over your shoulders and cheekbones and down all the way to your toes as you stood at the end of the small patio deck overlooking the ocean.
“You and I still share a love for early mornings, I see.”
You turned and smiled as Étienne wrapped his arm around your waist and the two of you continued to look out over the water together. The south of France was a warm splash of sunshine wrapped in a cool breeze that smelled like strawberries, citrus, and heaven. You couldn’t believe you’d waited this long to come after too many attempts at Étienne to get you here.
It finally felt right.

Cried literal tears reading the epilogue! It was such a perfect ending to the journey. I usually hate endings and goodbye but this was a comforting departure❤️ love this with everything in me 😭 I loved how it even showed how this far into the relationship the Parker’s still has their troubled moments 🫧 Thank you so much for all the happiness these stories have brought me! Although I do have a question, I don’t know if you have already addressed what the code to peters arm meant? 5474? I might have missed it. But anyway love you Marlie, thank you ❤️✨
ahhh yes, the question everyone has been asking for what feels like centuries.
what does the meaning 5474 on peter's lab and on his arm mean ? well, in short, it's y/n's name.
y/n's name in JOOR is -- kiri.
personally, i always saw y/n (or kiri) as a combination of her japanese mother and her asgardian (norwegian) father. small, slight, and yet tough as can be, the name kiri has origins in many cultures but the one that stood out to me the most when researching names initially was the concept of a sturdy tree, or rough tree bark. i know this sounds a little insane and makes me seem unhinged, but kiri is the most stable of all the characters during the entire series (especially during JOOR) when she's the constant, planted tree there for everyone to rely upon.
kiri has maori origins actually, and then became wildly popular in japan in the 1950s. its cambodian origin signifies the name as the 'mountain summit' which i really liked thinking that kiri was always working towards reaching her peak and understanding who she is both for herself and for others.
in other news just as important as the others, kiri is a popular middle eastern cream cheese brand. very important information.
the reason that peter makes kiri's name his lab code and the code on his arm is because he was willing 100% to give up everything that day in the hospital. he was going to disappear. he was going to give up. he wasn't even going to put that arm on. he was ready to be done in more ways than one until kiri popped her little head into his room and reminded him of something good that could be in his future. he puts the arm on. he enters his lab again. all because of her. to signify this, he honors her by using her name.
it's not the most obvious thing, but when you take into consideration kiri's name and the four digit passcode, it can be noticeable - hence why aggie and peter had that moment over christmas where aggie clearly realized that peter was using her name on his arm.
kiri is loosely based off a good friend of mine who i have always admired her gracious spirit and humility. we once had a conversation about how our roots and where we came from and the influence of our parents' backgrounds impacted how we see the world and her japanese upbringing regarding thoughts on charity and praise for others is something she has always been grateful for because it is a reminder to herself that everyone has their core love inside them and it is our jobs as human beings to use that love to promote and protect others. hence, one of the basis of kiri's background.
so it doesn't really have a super big meaning ? but it was always a kind of fun little code that i got to use for myself and a little inside moment that, if you ever decide to read the story again, you'll now have this information and that will make the reading experience all the more enjoyable.
hopefully this long awaited mystery doesn't disappoint ! i can't thank you all enough for sticking with this story. i know peter and kiri were super fun and enjoyable to write, and i can only hope they were just as fun and enjoyable to read.
I love this so much, it makes me so happy every time I see a new addition to gentle giant Jason!verse
Gentle Giant Jason meeting more of the fam please? Or second date angst?
"Where's Y/N?" Bruce asked, when Jason and Step loped up the steps without you.
"She's looking after her brother's kids today- she's gonna meet us later," Steph answered stretching.
"Why-"
"Because their mom didn't want to be a mom anymore and the boys are absolute terrors for everyone BUT Y/N."
"They don't have grandparents?" Clark asked, more curious than anything.
Steph shrugged again, "I guess they died a while ago? Y/N said it was just a car crash- and from what I understand even if they were alive; they were pretty uninterested in kids."
"Even though they had 4," Jason added.
"There are worse things than benign neglect," Tim snorted, kicking a chair out for Steph.
"She's the youngest," Jason felt compelled to point out, "And the only girl-"
"Yeah," Steph said rolling her eyes, "But that doesn't mean they cared anymore. Honestly, according to Charlie, by the time they got to her they were tired. And they never really wanted girls."
"So basically," Tim mused, "Her brothers are over protective and she's a little weirdo-"
"Yeah," Steph snorted. "But, she had a lot of time to hone the weirdness. AND her brothers just gently bullied her into having actual social skills." Steph dropped into the chair Tim kicked out and yawned.
"She sounds lovely," Clark chuckled.
"She is," Stephanie said earnestly. "She brought me cookies on my birthday the year we had a class together. And if I called her tomorrow and said I needed help, she'd be there."
"What kind of cookies?" Tim asked.
"Chocolate chip," she said cheerfully. "She said she didn't know what I liked so she took a shot-"
"That's cute," Tim admitted.
"Weird kids make the best friends," she said shrugging, grinning.
"Yeah they do," Clark agreed, bending to kiss the top of Bruce's head.
I have three modes of reading
Dont read
Read a 500 page book in a day
Read only fanfiction until my eyeballs drop out of my skull from exhaustion
“Who’s the best Robin?”
My favorite character that has been Robin is Jason Todd.
I think Tim Drake was the best at being Robin.
Dick Grayson is the most successful and the best hero, but it was after he was Robin.
Damian
Stephanie changed what it meant to be Robin, and empowers me the most as a woman.
