For clarification my parents told me and my sister and cousins who lived with us this. So every year once ot twice we would go out and catch fire flies and put them into a container with leaves. And then our parents would swap them with pennies

We were not bright children.

The lighting bugs would just sit there and did not try to escape.

After the Kraang showed up again for the first time in a long time, Renet was taken back to her "true" time and space. It takes awhile, but Renet was eventually able to find her way back to New York in an attempt to re-group with the turtles and full-fill her promise.

With little direction to go off, she's left to wander the wasteland until she meets her end goal or end of her time.
