2012 Tmnt Au - Tumblr Posts

Been think about starting a tmnt au based off the 2012 Mutant Apocalypse, and have the story told kinda like the last ronin where there's flashback sequences and whatnot

It would follow venus through the wasteland that was new York city as she and a few companions try to survive. I just think it would be a neat concept (thinking of calling it "My Name is Venus de Milo", may change it who knows)

This is the only thing I've done for it now but figured I'd wanna share anyways incase I ever actually decide I should do it

So I made some more art for my AU, My name is Venus

I changed a couple of minor details, like the shell and giving her boots, but I think I like the way she looks as she is now! She is also based off a wood turtle, I thought they looked neat!

So I've thought a bit more about what I want to do with it, and I'm thinking more kraang invasion instead of just mutagen bomb that went off. I'm going to redesign some of the 2012 mutant apocalypse characters because of this. But I wanna make my own characters for it first before I bring in the old ones.

Just wanna say, 2012 tmnt did renet’s hair dirty, so I attempted to not do that. I’m not good at drawing braids tho so that’s the best I could do

I have finished some character sheets for My Name is Venus! They will be posted throughout this week one at a time for suspense (more so just cause I want to have them separated).

First up, Hamato Raphael.

Raphael's temper has cooled down significantly since he was a kid, however he is still prone to losing it! After spending time with Mona, he picked up a thing or 2 on how to weild a gun, and that's become his primary form of defense following the mutagen explosions.

He is head of the kraang resistance, but refuses to accept he's thier leader. Raphael also fills the role of mechanic in the resistance camps, helping to keep Don-Bot and the operation running smoothly!

A colored form of this will come out down the line, after I finish the sketches for the past and present character sheets. That being said, who would you guys like to see next? If I don't have them done now, they will be soon!

Chompy Picasso

Chompy was mutated at the beginning of the apocalypse, and has been traveling with Venus since they found eachother. He's been learning to weild an axe and is quick learner too!

Despite the dire and bleak circumstances, Chompy's much more of an optimist than Venus. The 2 usually have differing viewpoints on how to go about their live in the new world, but it has yet to cause any big rift.

Renet Tilly

After the Kraang showed up again for the first time in a long time, Renet was taken back to her "true" time and space. It takes awhile, but Renet was eventually able to find her way back to New York in an attempt to re-group with the turtles and full-fill her promise.

With little direction to go off, she's left to wander the wasteland until she meets her end goal or end of her time.

Can't believe it took this long to get to venus, you'd think with her being the main character I'd get it done first huh?

Venus de Milo Hamato:

Having found Chompy and Metal-Head at the beginning of the apocalypse, Venus has since become the unofficial leader of her group of mis-fits. She's far more.. realistic in her approach on life than her companions, but it doesn't stop her from listening to their opinions and trying their ideas.

Venus has taken it upon herself to find a new retro-mutagen, hoping to prevent her life (and the world) from falling further into chaos.

So I'm working on a design for a mutated casey, first try he legit looks like a girl to me and I cannot place why?? I think it's mostly the eyes but no clue lmao

Like I don't expect it to become a big thing or something that will piss off hundreds of people, but I feel like one or 2 people who see it will be disappointed/upset

If some of the characters look off its because i havent drawn half of them before starting this and im winging it. An updated version will probably be made later on correcting mistakes!

Leonardo: having ran out of use by the kraang, Leo was transfered to the battle nexus, a new gladiator arena quickly growing in popularity. Being seen as nothing more than a huge monster, he was given the title "Maximus Kong". Leo quickly cements himself as champion in the arena, becoming a desired fight for many.

Jennika: an orphan girl given to the Nexus when her parents no longer cared for her, she was made roommate to Leonardo who's training the girl to fight for when she's old enough. She's not typically allowed to watch her sensei's battles, however it doesn't stop Jennika from sneaking around to get a glimpse.

The 2 of them have grown close over the years, neither being able to imagine a life outside the Nexus nor without each other. But, what happens when one is put on the line as a prize for a new group of fighters?

How long do you typically spend on each TMayNT drawing? Of the ones you've done so far, which one took the longest? Which one was the quickest?

That's a good question!

I have 2 different styles that I go with and both take different amounts of time! (Lined and lineless)

I would say lineless is the one that takes me the longest, as I am both learning to do it and it requires me to build up colors like a painting. As for how long it takes, could be an hour or I could spend well over a day on the piece!

My longest drawing so far is the unfinished comic cover for "My Name is Venus", mostly due to the various characters and need for backgrounds.

As for the quickest, it's this short comic I made because someone in a discord server im in said Leo's rebellious phase would be putting ice in his tea. I spent MAYBE 10 minutes on it haha

Edit: I misread the thing lol, answers are pretty much the same regardless! For TMayNT the longest was bebop and rock stead and the shortest was the turtle tot! Sorry about that lol
