hey friends, this week is karen page appreciation week (if you didn’t know) and today one of the prompts is a discussion of things karen could have gotten away with if she were a man. 

and boy do i have a lot to say. 

let’s start off with this: i have never received negative messages about frank, matt, foggy, or any other character i write for. but i received a rude anon about karen page claiming she’s annoying. they didn’t say why she’s annoying just that she is. so i guess one thing karen gets shit for is existing? 

your thinly veiled misogyny is showing. karen page is smart, shows up for her friends, and does a lot of the same things matt and frank do. but somehow because she’s not labeled a vigilante it’s annoying or bitchy or irresponsible for her to do the things that she does. most of the takes i see discussing karen aren’t anything more than internalized misogyny.
