Dani bounced down the stairs from her advisor’s office, a new spring in her step. She had been at Elias for nearly a year now, busting butt on liberal arts with no clue of what she wanted to do with her life… and truthfully, she still had no earthly idea. It really seemed like she had some ‘right now’ stuff to handle first before she took the time to think long and hard about her future.

She had, though, finally picked a major. The idea that folklore was a legit thing she could go to college for still blew her mind, as it had been since her Comp teacher mentioned it in class the day before. Was it some poetry type major with no real world use? Probably! Did she care? Nope!

“I know what I’m gonna do, I have a plan for the future….” She sang to herself as she hopped down beside a person on the next step. “I know what I’m going through…” Coming to a pause, she raised a curious eye to her neighbor of the stairs. “You don’t happen to know a rhyme for future, do you?”

         THOUGH THE OCCASIONS IN WHICH  aurora found herself spending time with dani were few ,  it didn’t mean the princess didn’t care greatly for the younger woman .  she liked to think of the other as the sister she never had ,  or at least that’s what she imagined a relationship between siblings would be like .  dani was determined ,  full of life ,  and aurora always enjoyed hearing what the girl had to say  ---  even if she didn’t quite understand it sometimes .

         ❝  oh ,  hi dani !  a rhyme for future ,  hmm ...  ❞   bright eyes wandered around for a moment ,  a finger gently tapping her chin in thoughtful manner .  now ,  aurora was no poet ,  but she wasn’t too bad at rhyming !  if anything ,  there was a part of her that thought it was quite fun .  ❝  how about ‘ creature ’ ,  or perhaps  ‘ picture ’ ?  also ,  you seem to be in a very good mood !  i’m glad ,  ❞  the blonde pointed out with a smile .  ❝  did something special happen ?  ❞

Their similar predicaments gave Philip a sense of peace. For so long it felt as though he and his brothers were the only ones who knew this trouble he bared. It’s not as though he could talk to them about what was troubling him either since Philip often played it off that he was fine. He would much rather see that his brothers own grief was handled before his own given that Kit held so much more responsibility being the eldest and Florian…well, florian just need some sort comfort and had for a long time. Philip shoved everything to the back and paraded around Elias that everything was fine. Now before her he was able to admit that maybe he wasn’t doing as well as he projected. “I am as well.” and he meant that sentiment with all his heart. 

He listened intently to her story. hanging onto every syllable and vowel that left those beautiful rosy lips. Part of him had wished his curiosity hadn’t gotten the better of him. it was easy to tell recounting the events that lead her to Elias were hard. The blonde’s usual sunny disposition was clouded now by sadness. it’s a sight philip didn’t want to see. if she had allowed him to, he would have wrapped her up in his arms in a heartbeat. The more she spoke the more things began to grow clear. After their meeting in the woods philip had gone back to the forest to search for the blonde. instead of seeing her he was greeted by three woman. He had asked them if they knew the blonde girl who traveled these forests. although they were reluctant at first they eventually said her name was Aurora. He hadn’t connected the dots back then. From a young age he had been betrothed to princess Aurora. A princess who had been lost to her kingdom. For years he had accepted his fate for his father’s sake until he met her. Philip would have thrown everything away for the woman before him. His title, his life, everything just to be with her. The potential connect hadn’t dawned on him then but as she spoke it started to make sense. The latter part of her statement made his heart completely jump out of his chest. Could it be? No, this was all too good to be true. Surely it had to be some sort of fantasy - a dream. One if it had truth to it Philip would want to live in forever. 

“My name is Philip. Prince Philip of the kingdom Ulstead.”

        THERE WAS A PART OF AURORA  that felt guilty for sharing her burden with him ,  even if just a little of it .  he already had more than enough to deal with on his own and now ,  he would probably worry about her ,  too ,  just like she would him .  it was sweet and filled her heart with warmth ,  yet it also made her feel bad in a way .  was it selfish of her to have told him so many things that probably made even less sense to the man than they did to her ?  maybe ,  possibly ,  but perhaps the princess was being too hard on herself .  talking about things was meant to be a good thing ,  sharing them with someone you trust ,  someone who cares about you as you do them  ---  someone like him .

         strangely enough ,  it almost looked like there was something on his mind ,  as if he was trying to put puzzles pieces together .  maybe it was for her sake ,  he was just trying to help her figure something out ,  but there was a feeling in her stomach that told otherwise .  it was intriguing to say the least ,  even though aurora couldn’t help but feel bad that her story had him overthinking .  it was only when he properly introduced himself after all this time that something clicked inside her head ,  eyes becoming wide with surprise .  it couldn’t be ... oh ,  but what if it was ?  ❝  you- ... you are prince philip ?  but-  ❞  surprise covered her face ,  free hand covering her mouth as if to keep herself from looking like a fool .  he certainly fit the part ,  being as lovely and wonderful as she imagined one to be ,  but never in her wildest dreams would aurora have thought the man she met in the woods to be a prince .  then again ,  she was a princess herself ,  so what’s stopping him from being royalty ,  too ?  in addition to that ,  aurora knew he would never lie to her .  maybe others would find it silly of her to put such trust into someone ,  but the blonde knew in her heart that he’d never lie .  ❝  but if that’s you ,  then all my worries about being betrothed to a man i don’t love or- ... it was you all along ?!  ❞  the sadness in her eyes is replaced with pure joy ,  her expression becoming that of happiness as the blonde lowers her hand away from her lips as they curl into a bright ,  honest smile .  ❝  but you never told me you were a prince !  i thought-  i was certain you were just someone from the kingdom !  well ,  my kingdom ,  i suppose ,  ❞  a giggle escapes her lips ,  and she takes a small step in his direction .  ❝  philip ... i should have known it was you .  i can’t imagine it being anyone else !  ❞  the princess laughs ,  hand reaching for his own .  ❝  i want to know everything you know about ,  well ,  everything .  will you tell me ?  ❞  it is then that her rosy cheeks turn a deeper shade of pink ,  ❝  are we really getting married ?  i didn’t imagine that ,  did i ?  ❞

“Safe?” He questioned, wondering what would be so unsafe about it. “I’m pretty sure it would be, as long as you don’t fall in the trash grinder or something… that would be… tragic…” He trailed off, deciding he didn’t want imagine that much longer. It was a terrible thought. But it would lead him to being a little more careful if they did go. “Well, I have this idea… I’m gonna have to have my friends help me out with it, though.” While creative, Fred lacked the skills and smarts to actually engineer anything. “I have to keep my lips sealed for now, ‘cause it’s not copyright, and you never know who might be listening.”

                   ❝  THE ... TRASH GRINDER ?  ❞  suddenly ,  the junkyard seemed a lot more dangerous  &  scary than aurora had anticipated .  still ,  this guy seemed like he could be trusted ,  even if he was a little peculiar  ---  not in a bad way ,  of course .  the princess wasn’t one to judge .  ❝  well ,  i’m sure we’ll both manage to stay safe from this  ‘ trash grinder ’  you mentioned !  ❞  if anything ,  it sounded like an adventure of sorts and while aurora wasn’t the most adventurous of people ,  she had learned to appreciate new things ,  especially after coming to elias .  when he mentioned something about  ‘ copyright ’, the woman found herself confused for a moment ,  but quickly regained composure .  ❝  ah ,  yes !  of course ,  copyright really is important .  i completely understand .  ❞  she didn’t ,  but he didn’t have to know that .   ❝  very well ,  shall we go ,  then ?  oh ,  but first ,  may i have your name ?  ❞

“Do you think if I find some little kid to hunt eggs for me they will?” Freddy said aloud watching as families searched for eggs in the park. Part of him wanted to take part - if only to fill the small void he had inside from a lack of hunting eggs as a child. He also really wanted to score free things but felt silly doing so. Freddy also remembered in that moment that he wasn’t a fan of kids. He sighed, stuffing his hands in his pockets as he continued to speak. “Forget it.” he mumbled. “Do you want to…go on this stupid egg hunt with me?”

          THE INQUIRY MADE HER  press her lips in a straight line ,  giving the man a look as if to ask him if he really thought it would be a good idea to have a kid hunt for eggs on his behalf .  when he took that back ,  aurora nodded lightly  &   allowed herself to give him a small smile ,  as if approving of his realization .  still ,  she wasn’t expecting to be asked to help  ---  if anything ,  she didn’t think she’d be good at it .   ❝  i ,  um ...  ❞   then again ,  it would be a good story to tell philip later on ,  about how she managed to find so many eggs .  maybe he’d be impressed ,  especially if the two of them went egg hunting later on .  the thought of her fiancé being impressed with her brought a rosy tint to her cheeks ,  and the princess nodded her head .  ❝  yes ,  i’d like that .  i can’t promise i’ll be of much help though ;  i’m not very experienced with these things .  where shall we begin ?  ❞
