𝐇𝐄  𝐆𝐀𝐕𝐄  𝐀  𝐒𝐘𝐌𝐏𝐀𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐓𝐈𝐂  smile  to  his  twin.  While  he  didn’t  fully  understand  what  she  went  through  he  could  sense  it.  call  it  twins  intuition.  the  two  were  very  adamant  about  it.  Seth  knew  rose  was  upset  and  vice  versa  before  the  other  said  anything.  “  You  don’t.  never  have  and  i  don’t  think  you  ever  will.  A  little  night  flower.  ”  he  chucked  ,  ruffling  his  sister’s  golden  locks.  “  i  knew  you  slept  wrong  last  night.  i  woke  up  with  a  pain  in  my  neck.  i  think  sleeping  pods  would  be  a  great  investment.  i  know  i  could  use  a  nice  nap  to  recharge.  i’m  sure  others  feel  the  same  way.  we  could  always  head  to  the  woods  and  sleep  under  a  tree.  i’m  sure  mother  packed  some  extra  blankets  in  her  bag  just  in  case.  ”  their  mother  was  always  considerate  like  that.  a  true  saint.  “  I’m  sure  he  is.  He’s  probably  lurking  in  the  shadows  to  make  sure  we’re  not  getting  ourselves  into  too  much  trouble.  Liam  having  fun  ?  that  is  very  unlikely  ,  rosebud.  he’s  a  giant  stick  in  the  mud.  ”

        ❝  OUR PARENTS SHOULD HAVE THOUGHT TO  name  me  moonflower  before  anything  else .  much  more  appropriate ,  don’t  you  think ?  ❞  the  shorter  twin  joked ,  giggling  when  he  ruffled  her  locks .  of  course  rosalie  knew  just  why  their  parents  had  picked  that  name  for  her ,  what  it  meant  to  represent ,  but  no  roses  bloom  at  night .  perhaps  it  made  her  all  the  more  unique ,  a  rose  unlike  the  others .  when  seth  mentioned  his  neck  pain ,  her  expression  shifted  into  an  apologetic  one ,  ❝  you  did ?  i’m  very  sorry ,  seth .  is  it  all  better  now ?  and  while  a  comfortable  nap  in  the  woods  sounds  very  tempting ,  it  would  be  a  shame  for  us  to  miss  the  festival !  i’m  sure  there’s  a  great  number  of  people  who  would  miss  your  dazzling  presence ,  ❞  the  princess  tells  him  with  a  nudge ,  then  proceeded  to  take  a  bite  off  her  candy  apple  as  she  pondered  for  a  moment .  ❝  mother  most  definitely  must  have ,  though  we  probably  shouldn’t  interrupt  her  &  father  during  their  time  alone !  maybe  if  we  run  into  them ,  but  actively  seek  them  out ,  lest  we  end  up  traumatizing  ourselves .  ❞  rose  shuddered  at  the  thought ,  eyes  blinking  away  any  thoughts  of  their  parents  behaving  as  anything  other  than ,  well ,  parents .  ❝  lurking  in  the  shadows  when  he  should  be  basking  in  the  light  with  us !  he  may  be  a  stick  in  the  mud ,  but  he’s  our  stick .  does  he  not  understand  that  he  is  entitled  to  fun ,  too ?!  ❞  brows  furrow  together  as  she’s  reminded  of  someone  other  than  their  brother ,  ❝  future  kings  can  be  so  fickle .  ❞

AYLIN WATCHES HER CAREFULLY whilst biting the inside of his cheek to prevent him from laughing. However her smile only caused an overspill of giggles to escape from his lips. “Party pooper you are not ! And I will hear no more of this blasphemy.” They returned the princess hand softly to stand up straight once more. “It’s what I do.” He replied matter-o-factly with a wink. “You’re going to try win for me? Damn, I’m honored. Awh rosebud, I bet you’ll do just fine. If not I have no problem snatching one of the plushes off the rack when the worker isn’t looking. Not like he’ll miss it.” He laced their hands together as they walked side by side. “See, now that Liam is party pooper! But I’ll try to respect his wishes as best as I can anyway.”

               ❝  IT’S NOT BLASPHEMY IF IT’S TRUE ,  AYLIN .  ❞   the  princess  giggles ,  figuring  she  probably  sounded  like  her  father  and  in  that  case ,  it  must  mean  she’s  not  wrong .  smiling  as  they  let  go  of  her  hands ,  rosalie  led  the  way  towards  the  game  booths ,  a  dramatic  gasp  falling  from  her  lips  when  aylin  suggests  stealing  one  of  the  plushes .  ❝  hey ,  that’s  not  right !  i  appreciate  the  gesture  but  doesn’t  that  defeat  the  whole  purpose ?  if  i’m  giving  you  a  plush ,  it  has  to  be  one  i  won  myself .  intention  &  all  that  good  stuff .  ❞  she  affirmed  with  a  confident  nod ,  though  her  cheeks  did  turn  a  light  shade  of  pink  when  they  took  her  hand .  it  wasn’t  anything  new  to  rosalie ,  but  it  still  made  her  blush .  ❝  i’m  sure  you  will ...  but  i  won’t .  if  i  decide  i  want  to  stay  out  here  until  three  in  the  morning ,  then  i  will !  ❞  no ,  she  wouldn’t ,  but  rose  could  dream .  ❝  liam  can’t  do  anything  about  that !  ❞  but  maybe  seth  could ,  as  she’d  never  say  no  to  her  twin .

“Oh, it’s okay. I was just rambling out loud.” Yara took a bite of her cotton candy, forever amazed by the way it turned from a substance she was sure felt like a cloud to sugary liquid on her tongue within seconds. “I was just saying that I really like this,” she continued, pulling another piece of the blue candy off, keeping it between her fingers. “I never went to fairs or anything when I was little. It’s fun running a booth and it’s even more fun wandering around and playing the games, you know? I’m just so grateful to be here today.”

            ❝  OH ,  COTTON CANDY !  i  used  to  hate  it  as  a  child ,  my  fingers  would  get  all  sticky ,  ❞  a  slightly  embarrassing  fact  that  the  princess  shares  with  a  laugh ,  thinking  of  it  as  no  more  than  a  memory  from  her  childhood .  though  she’d  always  enjoyed  the  family  visits  to  elias ,  her  younger  self  was  never  a  big  fan  of  cotton  candy  or  anything  that  made  her  feel  dirty .  ew .  ❝  you  didn’t ?  but  that  only  means  you  get  to  experience  more  &  more  of  all  a  fair  has  to  offer  now  that  you’re  a  grown  up !  i  find  that  some  things  are  better  enjoyed  as  you  get  older ,  ❞  even  at  events  like  this .  ❝  say ,  what’s  your  favorite  game  or  attraction  so  far ?  ❞

FLYNN  HAD  ONLY  just  gotten  to  elias  when  he  was  invited  to  the  harvest  festival .  well ,  he  kind  of  invited  himself ,  dubbing  it  an  easy  way  to  catch  up  with  julie  and  meet  birdman  -  which  is  what  he  immediately  called  phoenix  upon  learning  his  name .  pleasantries  were  exchanged ,  lunch  was  had ,  and  he  ventured  off  on  his  own  to  explore  -  clad  in  a  lab  coat  and  large  goggles  atop  his  head .  it  was  only  right  to  remain  on  theme .   right , marty ? 

while  he  knew  rosalie  was  here ,  in  california ,  seeing  her  in  the  flesh  still  threw  him .  it  shouldn’t  have  -  he  knew  that  -  but  he  stopped  in  his  tracks  as  he  caught  a  glimpse  of  her  from  the  side ,  over  in  front  of  one  of  those  balloon  games .  be  cool ,  flynn .  there’s  no  reason  not  to  be  cool .  he  took  a  deep  breath ,  let  the  trademark  fitzherbert  smoulder  wash  over  his  face ,  and  walked  over  throwing  a  five  on  the  counter .

             THROUGHOUT MOST OF THE FESTIVAL ,  rosalie  found  herself  in  the  company  of  either  family  or  friends .  whether  it’d  been  seth ,  aylin  or  ada ,  most  of  her  time  thus  far  had  been  in  the  company  of   someone  special   to  her ,  which  only  made  the  event  all  the  more  exciting !   but  she  couldn’t  expect  people  to  spend  all  of  their  evening  on  rose ,  and  it  seemed  her  ‘ alone  time ’  had  finally  come .   not  that  it  would  actually  stop  her  from  having  fun ,  duh !

             standing  before  the  balloon  pop  booth ,  she  contemplated  the  idea  for  a  moment .  her  aim  wasn’t  the  greatest  ( liam  would  know )  but  who  knows ,  this  might  prove  a  fun  time ,  and  she  really  liked  the  plush  prizes .  just  as  she  was  about  place  her  own  five  dollar  bill  on  the  counter ,  someone  beat  her  to  it ,  almost  startling  the  princess .  &  then  came  the  familiar  voice .

             eyes  blink  the  surprise  away ,  and  she’s  not  sure  whether  to  look  at  him  or  stay  focused  on  the  balloons .  so ,  despite  all  of  her  so  called  bravery ,  rosalie  chooses  the  latter .  ❝  yes ,  ready .  ❞  she  replies  just  before  straightening  her  posture ,  collecting  herself .  how  dare  he  sneak  up  on  her  like  that ,  so  mindlessly ?!   ❝  and  the  bunny .  ❞   the  princess  demands  with  dulcet  tone ,  ❝  for  good  measure .  ❞
