Hello, I'm Ola, a graduate student from the faculty of science - Al-Azhar University in Gaza Palestine. I truly appreciate you taking a moment to read my story. As you reading my message, myself and my family, “my mother, father, three sisters, and my little brother,” are fighting death in northern Gaza and trying to survive under all kinds of suffering including but not limited to destruction, fear, and instability, starvation, thirst, and poverty.

For nine months until now, we have been struggling to get proper food after prices increased by 15 to 20 times, struggling to have clean water for use and drinking. We lacked security and stability as we were forced to evacuate our house and left everything behind. Then we had to move at least three times since every new area we seek refuge to gets bombed.

Help Alaa's and Bilal's family survive

in may of this year i started talking with Alaa @alaajshaat for the first time after she had written me on tumblr. we started texting on whatsapp and despite neither of us being fluent in the others language, we got by with emojis and google translate. she told me about her husband Bilal and their family. i witnessed displacement after displacement after displacement. at the time of writing this, they have been displaced more than 10 times. their beautiful house that they had lovingly decorated lays in rubble.

as the months went by, we started writing almost daily. sometimes i would go days without hearing from them though and while i tried to chuck it up to internet outages, my anxiety during this time was sky high.

lately, their campaign has been stagnating a lot, sometimes they go a few days without any donations at all, which worries me a lot. after the latest Khan Yunis massacre, Alaa wrote me that they had to be displaced again but this time they had lost their tent. not only that, they had witnessed family and friends be martyred right in front of their eyes. THEY STILL DO NOT HAVE ANY SAFE SHELTER AND ARE FORCED TO STAY IN A VERY UNSAFE LOCATION a single tent can cost as much as 1000 dollars. this is the reality of a lot of people in Gaza. not only are the prices for food and other necessities exorbitant, a simple nylon tent costs this much.

Alaa always mentions how i should not give to them if it means that i myself won't have enough to live and while i always appreciate her concern, i cannot look away while they face mortal danger.

I want to make sure this information gets through to everyone: the racist genocidal German state could deport Bilal @bilal-salah0 within the next week, after he lost his job and home, heaping cruelty after cruelty onto this young man who has been working nonstop to provide for his family facing genocide in Gaza.

he's supporting 18 people there, including 8 kids under age 16. now Bilal needs to finish fundraising for his family before August 15th when he could be deported. that's one week from today.

Bilal needs to raise €25000 in the next 7 days to make sure his family has enough to survive if he can no longer fundraise. Bilal shared this dire news with us on Tuesday, but in spite of thousands of notes on @malcriada, @appsa, and others' posts about the situation, the campaign received only €3650 in the last two days.
