In Egypt The Hebrews Had Known The Worship Of The Goddess As Isis Or Hathor. For Four Generations They
“In Egypt the Hebrews had known the worship of the Goddess as Isis or Hathor. For four generations they had been living in a land where women held a very high status and the matrilineal descent system continued to function at most periods. Judging from the numbers of the Hebrews who emerged from Egypt, as compared with the family of the twelve sons who supposedly entered it four generations earlier, it seems likely that a great number of those Hebrew people known as Israelites may actually have been Egyptians, Canaanites, Semitic nomads and other Goddess-worshipping people who had joined together in Egypt. Just to the east of Canaan, in Babylon, stood the temples of Ishtar. And in the land of Canaan, the land that the Hebrews invaded and made their own after their departure from Egypt, archaeological records and artifacts reveal that the religion of the Goddess as Ashtoreth, Astarte, Anath, Elat or Baalat still flourished in many of the great cities.”

More Posts from Dianic-witch
Witches were and are persecuted (sometimes under different names) because they believed in and prioritized women, female human beings. Because they acknowledged and held sacred the female body with it’s cycles and gifts, female wisdom, and female spirituality, just as the witches of today do now. You can not understand withcraft if you do not acknowledge the specificity in being born female. You do not follow the witches of the old if you persecute women today who acknowledge ‘woman’ being a material reality based in our bodies and who see this reality as sacred. If you choose men over women, or deny the specific reality in being a woman, born female, your have gone against the very foundation of what being a witch is.
What it Means to Be A Witch
Ive been thinking a lot of what it means to be a witch, besides being a woman who practices magic. The real meat and potatoes of what it means. I think it takes a woman who knows this is what she’s meant to be, who feels the pull tworads it in her womb (keep in mind im talking about witchcraft not paganism. You can be a pagan and not a witch). I think it takes a woman who can see, the material and the inbetween, tell apart truth from lies. A woman who doesnt lie to herself. A woman who longs to speak the truth, and spread knowledge and understanding, even if its hard to swallow. It takes a woman whose grounded, who knows who she is and what she wants, who is willing to speak up for herself, who wont let people walk all over her. It takes a woman who loves nature, who pays attention to Gaia’s cycles, who connects with the stars and the moon, and the sun, who laughs with the flowers and sings with the birds. It takes a compassionate woman, who longs to heal, to sooth the wounds of the world, even if its just a little bit. It also takes dedication, hardwork, study, practice and a true longing for the craft. It takes work, its a lifestyle, not a hobby or a fun thing to do, you have to incorporate it into your life, big things and small, from having a cup of peppermint tea to help you wake up and promote energy throught the day to holding long, thorough rituals on holy days. Anyway thanks for listening to another one of my ramblings
