So, please correct me if I'm wrong, but Thanos was an Eternal, right? Even with some Deviant genes in him or something he is still a creation of Arushem or another Celestial. Which means the Celestial that made him has some sort of power over him, like Arushem had over the Eternals.

So, my question is: why did the Celestials allow him to wipe out half of the universe if they need all that population to create new Celestials? (This is no criticism or whatsoever and I really love the movie, it's just something I wondered.)
