There is not and will not be a step-by-step drawing here, because you have to figure out for yourself how this or that part of the robot works just by looking at the drawing.

E.J Sue’s “Mechaforce” is one of the few “How to Draw” books I would point newbies looking to get into drawing robots to. It emphasises knowing the basics (Very difficult to draw a robot properly if you can’t use perspective) and fundamental shapes and even arm techniques, and gives a neat insight into how mechanical forms work in art. 

These are just a few of the examples from the anatomy section of the book. It’s currently on sale on Amazon and worth checking out, though I will note it is not a “be all end all” resource, thankfully you can fill in your knowledge gaps elsewhere.

Actually seeing Across The Spiderverse in its entirety has both enhanced and ruined my ability to appreciate Miguel because on one hand, yes he can be your ultra serious daddy dom who's scary as fuck and grabs you by the chin and says dramatic shit, all on his "you'll never leave me mi amor" shit people like

But ALSO when you watch the movie and see how bitterly sarcastic he is, it's like, if you're telling Miguel he's an evil piece of shit and you'll never love him and hes a despicable monster, he'll just stand there looking directly in your eyes as he sips from his 5th cup of coffee that day and just quips "well, looks like you're stuck with me so i guess that sucks for you" and calls the shock collar/tracking device/daypass that never lets you leave Spider Society HQ "the thingy"

You: --and you're such an evil fucking dickbag, faking remorse over these horrible situations you're forcing people into, you're despicable, I bet canon events aren't even real and you're just doing all of this to make yourself feel good--

Miguel: *humming and nodding and saying 'uh huh' like he's listening just to piss you off but your words dont phase him at all*

You: --and the tostadas you made for dinner last night were so fucking dry--

Miguel, immediately offended: Lyla, activate the thingy
