Colin Bridgerton isn’t the best and sweetest and kindest guy because he never does anything wrong, he’s the best and sweetest and kindest guy because of how he acts when he realizes he messed up. Green flags only.

Making mistakes, saying something stupid or careless, relationship conflict etc- it’s normal, it happens to everyone. But it’s how you react to those mistakes that speak to your character. Two seasons in and we’ve already seen that Colin is always accountable for when he feels like he hurt someone, even when it’s not his fault, and goes out of his way to try to make amends. He’s also not stubborn, he doesn’t drag his feet when it comes to apologizing, and he doesn’t double down just because he can’t stand to be wrong.

When he realizes how much he hurt Penelope no one is going to make Colin suffer as much as Colin is going to make himself suffer, because he won’t take it lightly or blow off Penelope’s concerns. Even the way he tries to fix Penelope’s problem shows his ability to take responsibility and try to partner with her to find a solution (even if the solution is just…marry her yourself Colin!!!).

Because Penelope knows better than anyone that saying one “cruel” thing doesn’t make you a cruel person. She knows that he IS kind and a good and decent man. He’s got to be forgiven relatively quickly because they’re friends to lovers, so holding a long grudge was never going to happen anyway.

And, most importantly, she is also thirsty AF.

I keep seeing things where people are like "it was so nice to see Colin's satisfied little smirk fall when he realized she wasn't going to fall over herself for him anymore" because they seem to think he really only sees Penelope as an ego boost, but like...my guy just found out he hurt one of his best friends feelings? And thats why shes been ignoring him for months? Hes not upset because his ego isn't getting stroked, he's upset because he hurt someone he cares about. Why is it so hard for y'all to grasp

I think some people made their whole personality hating on Colin/Luke Newton but it’s ok you can stop lying to yourself now we can all see he’s good looking, it’s just silly at this point.

Like this was him in season ONE. We can say he’s killing it now but he was never ugly, and frankly you can see that the “Colin/ Luke Newton is the ugly brother” hate train really started around season 2, when previously people joked that the ABC brothers were the Jonas brothers and hard to tell apart. But it’s time to be honest now. This man is handsome.

This isn’t even saying he has to be your taste- not all of the leads will be- and maybe you couldn’t see the vision because he kept his shirt on when the rest of the show was on a 3 man “free the nipple” campaign, so he slid under your radar. Or maybe you like men who look older and couldn’t rock with them using his babyface to portray him as young and cute. Fine. But spreading hate about his looks, dumping on him for being ugly, etc? Glasses can’t possibly be that expensive, let’s book the optometrist NOW.
