More Posts from Dreameditor91
Reposting to boost. I also use #dbds
If you are a Dead Boy Detective Blog that use #DBD, read this.
Your fandom is new and you guys are spamming an established tag. #DBD has been Dead by Daylight's tag for literal years. You guys are flooding it with your show and I, and many other DBD players and content creators, are trying to get you guys onto your own tag, #DBDShow. We literally cannot get to our own fandom without having to block and report your posts because it's either that, or constantly see "This post contains filtered tags". We don't care what came first, game, show, or comic. We care about the fact that two months ago everything was fine, and suddenly our entire tag is overrun by a show 99% of us has never heard of. Some of you have been ignoring the subtle posts, and that's why I've got a lot of aggressive anti Dead Boy posts on my blog-- Because anger is the only way so far the majority of you all will stop and read a post. None of us want a tag war, and that's what is most likely going to happen. Your fandom is new and I do hope it thrives. Genuinely. But we literally cannot have two fandoms in one tag. It throws off the feed algorithm, it upsets fans on both sides, and gods forbid there be discourse from either side that spills over because no one knows what the hell anyone is talking about. Dead by Daylight has 30 *thousand* players on at any given time. More during chapter drops and events.
Please tag your posts as DBDShow. I even checked it myself, it's a fresh tag with few posts tied to it. DBD is taken, established, and known as Dead By Daylight's tumblr tag. It doesn't matter if they're the same acronym, it isn't how tumblr works. The more the tag gets used by DBDShow, the more confusion it is going to cause, and the more fights break out. Actual fights, not just "get the hell off our tag" squabbles. (Also, if both sides can reblog this so DBDShow fandom can head to their own tag that'd be a massive help)

DEAD BOY DETECTIVES S1 + TUMBLR REACTIONS

I will never not be devastated at the fact that Edwin, this (forever-)16-year-old who doesn't know how to fight like Charles, or use a weapon, or anything like that, can run so much faster than Charles, or anybody in the show for that matter. Because he's had to. He's had to for 70 years. And he's still waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Crystal (in her 'past life') learnt to insult people because (it seems like) that was the only way people would listen to her (aka her parents).
Charles learnt to immediately go on the offensive (to protect others, not himself) because he can't let anyone else be hurt the way he was hurt by the person who was supposed to care for him.
Niko learnt to forgive people and take the kindest route because that was how her dad taught her to be, how he'd want her to be.
Jenny learnt to close herself off from people because she's been too open in the past, and she can't afford to be vulnerable again.
And Edwin learnt to run, because there was no point in fighting back, because the only way he wasn't going to have to watch his own corpse be horrifically murdered again and again was if he ran.
The final scene of the show is the first time he's stopped in one hundred and eight years.
Edwin definitely thinks about the fact that Charles wears suspenders.
God I’m so fucking chill and normal about that goddamn lantern.
Like imagine you somehow defy the odds and break out of literal hell with that light, and the first thing you do upon returning to earth is use it to give warmth to a dying boy. You can’t save him, but you can comfort him.
Then you run away from Death together, and you take that lantern with you. He teaches you about the modern world, and you teach him about being a ghost. You build an existence around one another.
The lantern falls to the wayside. Perhaps you notice, perhaps you don’t, but after some time you know where you are and where you want to be—you don’t need it to guide you anymore.
And then you’re back in hell, and you do need it again. If you had a moment to spare between the pain and the fear, you’d scold yourself for letting your guard down. For losing it. For being so stupid.
But then, by some miracle, it’s in front of you and he’s in front of you and you’re escaping by the light of that lantern all over again, only now you’re holding his hand as you run.
At first you can’t believe he held onto it for so long when even you forgot about it. But then, of course he did, didn’t he?
So you tell him you love him on the steps of hell by the light of that lantern, and he loves you back, and you don’t quite know how that love will look, but you’re not worried.
Because you start to think that maybe it isn’t so foolish to trust someone else to carry your lantern for a while.
