His Words Trigger Her Sympathy For Him. She Cant Imagine Her Home Being Basically No More. And Yet, That
His words trigger her sympathy for him. She can’t imagine her home being basically no more. And yet, that is the danger she and her friends are facing. The Wyrm is coming to destroy life as they know it. If they can’t stop it, if they lose this war, her realm, her home will be gone, overtaken by darkness. Maybe it won’t be uninhabitable, but it will be the end as they know it.
“I’m sorry,” she tells him sincerely. “My home is in trouble, too. Me and my friends, we’re trying to stop it.” She pauses, looking back out at the sunset. She’s reminded of the beauty of the Shattered Sea, but also the ever changing behavior of time there and beyond, the way night and day felt like separate entities with no transition in the Immemorial City. What if they lose this? “That’s why sights like this are so important.”
The giant feels his heart flutter. There is that human concept again, love. He's heard much about it, and it seems to him an awfully positive and pleasant thing, to be in love with someone. He can't help but smile as he thinks of this knight being happy, truly happy, with another. With this Kit. He has an abundance of questions about her, about them and their love.
But he cannot ask them. Ingvar's heart sinks into the pit of his stomach with the subject change, and his smile is wiped clean from his face as though it were never there in the first place.
"Not safe... I am supposing. It... so far as I am knowing, it is no longer..."
He paused, trying to think of the right words.
"... habitable, I fear."

[ stormy ] sender arrives at receiver's doorstep soaking wet - @tanthalos
She's so tired. She feels tired all the time and has since she got the phone call over the weekend. She can smell the food Scorpia and Boorman are cooking, but she can't bring herself to get up. The entire house is filled with Ballantine. The kitchen. The hallways. The bedrooms. Even just her sitting in the living room, wrapped in one of the blankets they kept on the couch, reminds her of him. This was the house he'd raised her in since she was a small child and now?
The door someone is banging on belongs to her now. She sighs, forcing herself off the couch, and goes to the door. Normally, she'd just let Scorpia handle it, but Jade would feel guilty if she made Scorpia do more when she's already busy. She opens the door and is surprised to see Kit, as if she hasn't been by the house everyday since they returned. And she's absolutely soaked from the rain. Has it been raining? Jade can't remember noticing. "I thought you were doing label stuff today," she says, her voice small, as if she's afraid to use it or it's too weak to be anything more.

“Doesn’t matter how much peace there is. Threats always arise,” Jade answered after a few moments thought. She couldn’t go around telling people about the Wyrm and the dangers that were yet to come. Not yet, at least. They needed everyone to stay calm. His next question gave her more pause. Once upon a time, she would have immediately sang Queen Sorsha’s praises. But did she still feel the same now? She hadn’t really thought about it. “Queen Sorsha is faithful and dedicated to her people. She’s a good leader.” Jade was certain of at least that. There was no doubt in her mind that Sorsha would do everything in her power to protect the realm. And that’s what was important in that moment.
How much does he tell her in light of everything that was clouding up his mind? Surely, he should be able to let some slip. There weren't any big secrets but Rand also knew that he had information that would either scare others or make him seem an outright insane person. He swallowed down his drink thickly and then turned his gaze towards her. She looked contemplative. "What is the inevitable?" He questioned with a light furrow of his brow. Curious. Unsure. "I am. I have a few...warnings for your queen. What do you think of her?"
