OH THIS IS REALLY GOOD. you get it… this concept is especially compelling because i think barty is not a crier whatsoever. it’s extremely rare and barty knows by now that his inept, awkward, deadpan rosie barely understands human emotion (and finds displays of them disgusting). barty probably tries to hide/downplay it but when he looks up evan is flushed in the cheeks and stammering. evan is hard in his trousers and clutching barty’s sleeve tightly and breathing a little funny, all while he’s still trying to comfort him.

i think barty guides evan into licking the tears from his face (not sweetly, evan is shameful and biting back moans) and it collapses the strange tension of the moment into something familiar & perverse & simple & dear & intimate for the both of them
