anyway as you can tell i enjoyed the bonus chapters. a lot.

aftg music headcanons but i'm right.

nicky listens to chappell roan, troye sivan, ariana grande, harry styles and charli xcx (he loved brat)

neil hates pop music. (this is canon)

aaron listens to taylor swift (courtesy of katelyn) his favourite albums are folklore and ttpd, he is also a phoebe bridgers enjoyer

katelyn loves taylor swift, olivia rodrigo, sabrina carpenter, madison beer, all the pop girlies

andrew listens to heavy metal and hard rock and occasionally a girlypop glitter gel pen song but no one (except maybe neil) will ever know (he'd probably like arctic monkeys, paramore and exclusively get him back! by olivia rodrigo)

kevin fucks heavily with tchaikovsky, shostakovich and vivaldi (he's just like me fr)

jean probably doesn't know a lot of modern music but is getting into some modern sad songs (courtesy of the trojans; some of his favourites are folklore/evermore/ttpd songs, gracie abrams, the grudge and logical by olivia, phoebe bridgers, billie eilish, mitski, lana del rey, laufey and conan gray)

kevin also probably likes mitski and lana if we're talking modern music

i feel like allison would listen to all kinds of music but her top artists are probably charli xcx, ariana grande, sabrina carpenter, maybe a bit of lana?

matt loves pop but also fucks w rnb for working out and stuff (his top artists are probably taylor swift and the weeknd)

neil is forced to listen to modern music with the foxes and the only artists he'll admit to kind of liking are the neighbourhood and some lana

dan would probably like rap and rnb but she wouldn't mind taylor swift kind of pop (she and the girls listen to bad blood canon)

renee would probably enjoy beabadoobee, laufey, clairo and bruno mars (and jazz/indie in general)

jeremy, cat and laila have pretty similar music tastes (fairly mainstream, mostly pop; taylor, ariana, olivia, sabrina, a bit of maisie peters, harry styles, CHAPPELL ROAN, and one direction sue me)

andrew's such a fake idgafer no way anyone ever thought this man was apathetic or soulless like...he cares so fucking much??? he beat up four grown men trying to hurt nicky (as a teenager, btw). he enrolled them all in psu so aaron could become a doctor. he threatened nicky at knifepoint not to hurt or touch neil (and this wasn't about neil specifically this was because he's been there, he's been a victim, and he wouldn't want anyone else, even this strange know-nothing kid who he finds suspicious, to experience it). he says "spoil the ending for me, did you kill him?" when renee told him about the man who raped her and she can tell he cares about her answer; he cared to know if she escaped the man who abused her even though he barely knew her at all at the time. he punched matt (a guy like twice his size) for hitting kevin. he nearly choked allison to death for slapping aaron. he freaked out so badly when neil was kidnapped; he literally strangled kevin, lapped the campus multiple times, went through his bag and phone, checked hospital records, felt fear for the first time in years...and everyone's still just like "oh yeah he doesn't have a soul." what??? he yells at someone for the first time when bee has a heart attack. he didn't tell bee about neil even though he told her about so much else because he didn't want to risk her disapproval. he had to sit in silence for a few minutes just processing how easily aaron and bee accepted his relationship with neil. he said "everyone knows now, bee" after they all found out about dr*ke's assault because he couldn't stomach the fact that he thought his loved ones wouldn't trust him to protect them now that they thought he couldn't protect himself. he bought neil armbands to match his so he wouldn't have to see the scars his father's people made on his arms. he ran to neil like all of hell was at his heels when riko threatened him. who the fuck ever thought he was apathetic or soulless.

aftg pjo au what is everyone's cabins. i feel like neil is ares, jeremy is apollo, kevin is nike, allison is aphrodite, renee is athena, aaron and andrew are nemesis, nicky is iris, jean is hecate, matt is demeter, dan is nike.

Katelyn being listed as Aaron’s queen has healed my soul in ways I cannot describe

The thing about Aaron being a recovering addict while also trying to become a doctor is that eventually he's going to have to confront his past. Eventually, he's going to have to face himself.

Imagine him as medical intern, tending to a record high of overdosed addicts flooding the ER during the second wave of the opioid epidemic in the 2010's. How would he feel, seeing where his life could have ended, over and over again, were it not for Andrew's twisted idea of an intervention?

Imagine him later, as a resident, working long shifts and barely sleeping, constantly surrounded by the temptation of the very same pills he would have shoved down his throat in seconds at fifteen years old. Imagine with each pain pill prescription he writes, he is back on that bathroom floor, sweating out sickness and hatred as he begs to be let out, the cold tile like ice against his cheek.

Imagine his past addiction being a greater stain on his record as an attending surgeon than the fact that he's killed someone. People still sometimes die in his OR - it's the nature of the beast, of trying to save lives - but Aaron can never swallow another pill.

having renee/aaron thoughts in the club tonight

i think they start hanging out some time in aaron's freshman year, renee comes over in the morning to grab andrew for sparring and aaron's awake as well. his mom made sure that if he didn't have anything else, he had manners. he asks her if she wants something to drink or eat and she agrees. they get to talking until andrew comes out (insert obligatory gay joke) and renee and andrew leave. afterwards, renee makes it a point to come early. if aaron's awake, he'll make them both tea and grab something to eat (he starts keeping snacks after she starts coming over more often)

they have a class together and so they start studying together which is funny because aaron is constantly trying to memorize or learn something and renee just kinda... doesn't study. she has a lot of interactive classes, but even when she has tests, she just looks over her notes 5 mins beforehand and still passes. she's the queen of bullshitting projects, while aaron is drinking energy drinks and praying to anyone who listens that he memorize 3 out of every 5 note cards. nonetheless, they like studying together because renee will stay quiet as she does whatever she wants to do, and aaron is quiet when renee is actually doing an assignment or something. they learn each other's favorite snacks while there and if those snacks happen to be available when one of them is hosting movie night, then that's their secret.

they actually have their own little place. neil and andrew have the roof, they have a tree a little ways away from fox tower. they climb the tree sometimes, and sometimes they sit under the tree. renee found it on a walk one day, and she goes there any time she needs to keep herself from killing annoying idiots. unsurprisingly, she and aaron commonly complain about andrew there.

andrew hated the two of them together (and he never really likes it, but he doesn't hate it as much as he hates kateaaron in canon) because he couldn't bully renee into leaving aaron. (also because he's always been the odd kid out in friend groups and he doesn't want that with renee who was his friend first)

nicky thinks they're cute together and after he gets over the shock of renee not liking andrew, he fawns over them all the time

stephanie is someone aaron wants to please so much. partly because of his mommy issues, and partly because she's renee's mom. he's always on his best behavior around her, and he will be for the rest of his life. she adores him and wants to protect him. she trusts renee to pick a partner who's good for her, and even when aaron fucks up, she can tell he's trying. she showers him with affection whenever possible, because he deserves it, and because she can't shower renee with too much affection or she'll get uncomfortable.

they gravitate towards each other a lot of the time. (people think andrew is the odd one out of his group, but it's actually aaron. they were both the weird kid out in their friend groups growing up, but andrew grew into his own in prison. aaron still doesn't really know who he is.) renee's the odd one out of her group. they both stand on the outskirts of their group, holding drinks they can use to get out of saying the wrong thing, or to get out of saying anything. they don't talk much until they need to, and they rarely need to. that's why they're always seen together at parties and events. it's not easy to talk with others, but it's so easy to be around other people who are on the outskirts of the crowd.

they both want the same thing from a family. they also both want normality. aaron wants the life that he had grown up idolizing, and renee wants a big family that's full of love and warmth. those are the same thing.

aaron would likely have been casually religious growing up, and while he wouldn't be big on practicing religion regularly, he would join renee for important things like holiday services, praying when a fellow fox member is sick or dying, and having traditional weddings and funerals.

i had another thing to add: aaron can't live his life without someone to tell him what to do. his mom controlled what he did, and andrew did the same. renee is someone who will tell him what to do when he's too overwhelmed with options, but she also helps him to slowly realize what he wants to do with his life. he still doesn't like doing things without someone's okay or approval, but she gets to the point where it's only uncomfortable as opposed to unbearable

anyways, i just think they're so cute together and i've been obsessed with them for a long long time
