digital collage inspired by the 2014 novel "annihilation" by jeff vandermeer, comprised of a single image against a solid black background and a single line of white text right below the image. the image is a detailed white brick tower that has been flipped upside down so that its open door lies at the top of the collage. in the middle of the tower is a faded pale green spirograph resembling a star with many points that has been sliced in half at an angle. the text below the tower reads "that which was not supposed to be there", referencing the first line of the novel.
digital collage inspired by the 2014 novel "annihilation" by jeff vandermeer, comprised of a cutout of a gray stone staircase placed against a solid black background and lines of pale green text stacked atop each of the steps of the staircase. the steps, as if part of a spiral staircase in a tower, gradually curl inwards and each line of text follows the curve of its respective step. the full text, faded at the top as if hidden by shadows but growing brighter and more legible on the steps closest to the viewer, reads "where lies the strangling fruit that came from the hand of the sinner i shall bring forth the seeds of the dead to share with the worms that gather in the darkness and surround the world", referencing dialogue from the novel.

thinking abt area x again... inspired by jeff vandermeer's annihilation (2014)
