There should be a, where do you think you'll be at the release of avatar 5? 😭😭😭
Sam Worthington Says ‘We Go Back to Work’ on ‘Avatar’ Sequels ‘In a Month and It’s Big. It’s Bigger Than You Can Imagine’
Sam Worthington told People magazine at the premiere of his Netflix heist thriller “Lift” that the cast of James Cameron‘s “Avatar” films are gearing up to return to production in February. The director is currently deep into post-production on “Avatar 3,” which Disney has given a 2025 release date. Cameron has also shot all of the live-action scenes for “Avatar 4” that take place before a time jump in the story. The remainder of the fourth film still needs to be filmed.
“We go back to work on it in a month and it’s big,” Worthington said of the next “Avatar” films. “It’s bigger than you can imagine.”
Cameron recently told People magazine that “Avatar 3″ is “right on track” for its December 2025 release date. The film has been worked on since before the second movie, “Avatar: The Way of Water,” opened in theaters in December 2022 and became the third-highest-grossing film in history with $2.3 billion worldwide. Cameron shot “Avatar 3” and chunks of “Avatar 4” concurrently with “The Way of Water” to ensure age continuity among his characters.
---
Considering Cameron said filming the remainder of “Avatar 4” won’t occur until “Avatar 3” opens, it appears Worthington and the cast might be returning to Cameron’s studio next month for “Avatar 3” post-production needs such as ADR dialogue replacement. Worthington wouldn’t disclose the specifics of his return.
Cameron has the rest of “Avatar 4” and the entirety of “Avatar 5” left to shoot. The third movie was originally going to arrive in 2024, but Disney delayed the franchise and scheduled “Avatar 3” for a Dec. 19, 2025, opening. “Avatar 4” is on track for Dec. 21, 2029, followed by “Avatar 5” on Dec. 19, 2031. Based on this timeline, the final “Avatar” movie will premiere 22 years after the original 2009 blockbuster.

“golden girl, golden smile, please don’t go, please stay a while”
![Golden Girl](https://64.media.tumblr.com/550448a33fa2fc17302ff0671f434792/20bb6bb18322c914-59/s500x750/f11c8127fb5a3cf9541b8921643db48b281d23b5.png)
neteyam had grown used to the marui, though he’ll never admit it aloud, especially not when he had spent the first few nights twisting back and forth and grumbling quietly to himself. he couldn’t avoid his father’s stern lecture the following morning, but if he could disturb jake’s sleep to spite him, then so be it. but ever since the tidepools, something in him changed. it started with simple things like the marui.
now, the woven floor felt nice under his feet. if neteyam looked closely—which he would have never done before—he could see each braid of dried leaves from a nearby palm, realizing that only someone who excelled in their craft could create such intricate patterns. briefly, he wondered if you were also well-versed in weaving. surely you were. how could a wonderful woman not be?
perhaps his growing fondness for the family marui—and inevitably you—is why he decided to opt out of today’s lessons. sure, he felt a pinch of shame. neteyam was never such a coward back home, but the sea made him vulnerable, dragging him in and swallowing him whole.
he paid the price for letting his mind wander. in the midst of thinking about you and what you could have been doing on this beautiful day, he felt a sharp pain run through his finger. “shit.” neteyam hissed, dropping the arrowhead he was carving. he brushed off the dust that collected and inspected the small cut. it wasn’t all that bad, certainly not something he should stop working over.
he resumed his work and ignored the ache as if nothing had happened. it was clear that he hadn’t learned his lesson, either, letting his mind wander back to you. if you saw the wound on his finger, would you fix it for him? would you rub a salve over it and tell him what it’s made of? would you bring him the next time you forage for plants to make some more?
“you look happier these days.”
neteyam blinked and looked up from his seat on the floor. his mother stood at the foot of the entrance with a basket full of fruit hanging from her hip. she said it so matter-a-factly that he knew not to question her implication. neteyam dropped the unfinished arrowhead and rose to his feet, bringing the basket inside and stealing a peak at its contents. “what makes you say that, sa’nok?”
she huffed. “do not play dumb with me.” though, the glare in her eyes softened at her eldest son. the move had been hard for all of them, she knew it well. the grief, the heartache of being ripped from your home. so when she noticed that her son was finally growing accustomed to their refuge, a weight had been lifted off of neytiri’s chest. “why don’t you join the others outside?”
“it’s because he found a girlfriend.” lo’ak teased, suddenly appearing from behind her, and neytiri gave him a look. he walked past their mother and into their home, ignoring the wet footsteps he left in his wake. so they went swimming again, neteyam thought as he watched lo’ak rummaging through his things for a dry rug. “you better watch it. and dry yourself before you touch anything next time.”
lo’ak stuck out his tongue and reached over to tug his older brother’s ear, his face smug knowing he had the upper hand. neteyam hissed and swatted him away, though it didn’t go unnoticed to anyone that he didn’t deny it. “mind your own business skxawng.” the word teetered towards a growl. but lo’ak simply shrugged and left once dry.
an awkward silence stretched between them, before his mother broke it.
“why didn’t you tell me, ma evi?” it was an honest question said with such softness that was nearly unfitting of neytiri’s usual nature.
neteyam cleared his throat, painfully unconvincing. “we aren’t together, ma. she’s just a friend.” he emptied the basket she brought and ignored her pointed stare.
neytiri wasn’t stupid. sure, she sometimes lost track of her children’s antics in between adjusting to their refuge and learning from the tsahik. her children were many, all of whom were different. some required more attention, especially tuk, but that didn’t mean she cared less about her eldest. she didn’t even need a name to know who he was referring to. but she let it rest. for now.
neytiri made quick work of the fruits she picked, peeling and chopping with skill. neteyam continued to shape the arrowhead meanwhile.
“why do you make a new arrowhead?” neytiri asked without looking at him, her face twisted with concentration as she carefully peeled the skin between the grooves. neteyam watched her for a moment, knowing that she did that for jake, who found the fruit’s skin bitter. “i figured i’d put the scrap to good use.” he said. “it was the right size and length. i might need it one day.”
neytiri hummed. “you plan to fight with just your bow?”
at that, neteyam’s actions came to a full stop, and he looked at his mother with wide eyes. “you don’t?”
“of course i do.” she huffed. “i have an honor to live up to.” neytiri moved the cut fruit to a clean bowl and wiped her hands. then, she reached for the next. “but you and i are different. if you find yourself in battle without a bow, or your ikran, what will you resort to? you could have used the forest to your advantage, even without a weapon, but the same can’t be said here.”
neytiri watched a small realization wash over her eldest son. pleased, she continued in silence and left him to soak in his thoughts.
she was chopping up the last fruit when you unexpectedly came over, flashing a kind smile and apologizing for the intrusion. neytiri reassured you that it was anything but that, before ushering you inside. you greeted neteyam and explained to them that the day’s lessons were coming to an end, and the others would be coming home shortly.
there was a little accident with lo’ak, you told them. he lost control of himself under a wave and found his foot wedged between the coral. you nearly chuckled at their exasperated expressions, so similar in every way, that leaned more towards annoyance than concern. when you turned to leave, believing that you overstayed your welcome, neytiri pulled you back in. she insisted that you stayed.
you found yourself enjoying your conversations with her. she was one of the fiercest women you knew, something she surely takes pride in. she spoke with certainty and confidence, and she chided you like a mother when you politely refused the fruit she offered.
something shiny glinted in the corner of your eye, and you briefly pulled your attention away from neytiri. “what are you holding, neteyam?” you tilted your head at the boy who hardly said a thing since you arrived.
he looked down for a moment, before looking back at you. “it’s just a spearhead i’ve been working on.”

Every evening
PART 2 OF EVERY MORNING

Pairings: Neteyam x Y/n, Fluff
Every evening you would collect the shells that had found their way to the beach during the day. There were shells of all kinds of colours, shapes and sizes. It amazed you how beautiful and alluring such simple things could be. During the following days, you would give the collected shells away to people to use.
Every evening when the sun would begin setting down behing the horizon, Neteyam knew to look for you around the beachline. He would ride with his ilu all around the beach, his eyes searching your small frame along the beach. Once he would spot you, he would hang a little back and admire you. How every time you spotted a shell in the sand a smile would take over your face and your strut would take a more bouncy step. Gosh, he loved watching you when you thought no one was looking.
Little did he know, you knew he would search for you every evening. One time you caught him watching you from a distance. At first it rattled you. Why did he do that? Did he think bad of you and wanted to cause trouble? You would ask the villagers about the Sullys, specifically Neteyam and the answers were something so earnest. They would tell how hard working he was with honing his skills, how kind he was to everyone, how respectful and helpful he was. Then you understood, he felt too shy to be with you like he was with everyone else because he felt something different towards you. It was adorable.
The next morning instead of walking past the Sullys little home, you walked to it’s entrance. You smiled and greeted the family in it getting ready for the day. Neteyam was standing at the side of their home close to the wall as he was putting on his warriors belt around his torso. Your eyes followed his movements as his muscles loosened and tightened as he used them. Quickly you put nack on your mask and smiled at him.
Neteyam’s head snapped in your direction, his braids flying around his head as your voice carried through the air. You looked so divine as you stood at the entrance of the home and stared at him with the shining rays of the rising sun behind you.
"Neteyam, would you like to come and collect some shells with me in the evening? I’d like to get to know you a little bit better.“ You smiled at the soon to be man in front of you. His face slowly broke intoa small side smile as he glanced down at his mattress that he moved aside. Neteyam got up and finally answered.
"I would like that.”
"Great! See you then.“ Neteyam watched you as you turned around to leave, hands behind your back and a gentle smile on your face. He watched after you as you bounced away from the entrance of their home and continued on with your day.
Lo'ak watched this interaction happen very closely. He had seen how Neteyam gazed at you as they came to the village to seek uturu but he never thought Neteyam would actually have a chance with you. You were nothing like the other girls around here and that made you unreachable, scary and yet so tempting.
As your enticing frame disappeared away from the entrance, Lo'ak smirked at his older brother who continued acting nonchalant. Lo'ak hopped to his brother, grabbed his shoulders and leaned to smirk in his ear. "Well bro, you might actually have a chance with this Metkayina.”
Neteyam brushed his brother off of him as he leaned back against the wall of their home with a new found confidence, crossed his arms with a huge smile on his face.
"Watch me.“
bestie??? Im not sure if it was adrenaline or the desperation for a premise like this thats WRITTEN WELL, but i didnt see a thing!! don't blame me

pairing neteyam x metkayina! fem reader summary you were always rational, calm, and gentle. like eywa blessed you with all her tranquility. you always knew you had a purpose in life and that was to be a healer, the next tsahik. the great mother gave you the gift to do so and you never went against death because you knew it was meant to be. but what happens when the person you deared most has his door knocking by death? tags & warning reader has healing powers, reader is tonowari & ronal's eldest daughter, only younger than neteyam by 3 months, lots of descriptions than dialogue (bare with me pls), blood, hints of death index paysyul [water lily], tsaheylu [bond/neural connection] word count 1.6k
teyamsilly speaking ✩ there will be two more parts to this: part two & an alternate ending! there's more descriptions in the beginning describing reader, then reader and neteyam's relationship. dialogue will come later on! hope you'll like it <3
PART ONE | PART TWO | ALTERNATE ENDING
![Hey Bby! Im Just Gonna Come On Here To Request Because I Love The Way You Write Neteyam It Has Me Kicking](https://64.media.tumblr.com/aaca8df5b2ff1bb5c67d8673b3edf8da/408e209efa386d23-16/s500x750/ea2b4521710a1dbc9a9d63771e4c291347616636.png)
How Ronal found out she was pregnant with you was magical to her. She didn't have any problems with giving birth and it wasn't painful at all. She felt as if she was having trouble breathing and questioned whether there were troubles since you weren't weeping and crying the moment you were born. But to her surprise, your eyes glowed a brighter shade of blue momentarily as you gave her a wide gummy smile.
She knew you were gifted ever since your injuries would heal themselves. She took it as a sign from Eywa that you were next in line for Tsahik, that you would interpret her will.
The tasks given to you came naturally for you. You've executed the duties of a Tsakarem excellently, not only that, you were loved by the clan. You were always rational, calm, and gentle like the great mother blessed you with all her tranquility.
Ronal had never thought that your gift could be extended to another living thing. One time, a few ilu's came back injured from escaping an akula. They filled the water arround them with blood, screeching for help. Immediately, you went to them and cried like you could feel their pain.
As you created tsaheylu with one, your hands gently carressed the chopped fin with tears slipping from your eyes. You surprised everyone when you took your knife and made a deep cut on your palm, then placed it on the ilu's open wound. The skin covered itself.
However, your gift came with a price. Using your blood meant losing your blood, it resulted you to lose consciousness from the loss of blood. Tonowari and Ronal decided that your ability to heal others should never be used again, so you didn't.
Your mothers next words would ring in your head everytime you see an injured na'vi or animal: "She protects the balance of life. She does not take sides. What happens is meant to happen, ma'ite."
Neteyam Sully knew you were one of a kind when he saw you pass through crowd effortlessly with curious eyes as you observed each of his family when they arrived at Awa'tlu. Your eyes were nothing like he had ever seen before. Jewelled blue eyes that seemed to shimmer with every tilt of your head. He couldn't stop his tail from jouncing gently when your eyes met. He was sure that your eyes glowed before it's shine died.
When he heard the story from Tsireya of your birth and your miracle powers, he was at awe. It was obvious that you were in sync with Eywa and her creatures. And the way you walked, hips swayed, looked so graceful. It didn't surprise him that Kiri was quick to be cosy with you as she loves nature just as much.
Neteyam never had the opportunity to have a proper conversation with you since you are never present in their lessons because of your duties. The only time the two of you had a proper interaction was when Tsireya introduced them to you. When his name rolled of your tongue, he felt like he was in a trance with how soft your voice was.
Your smile was something he would never get tired of, ever. Since then, whenever you two made eye contact, you just smiled at each other. He would sometimes stare at you with the intention of being caught. When you noticed him looking at you, he flashed you a boyish grin and tilted his head. Blood would rush to your cheeks making you look away. You swore you could hear his chuckle.
Neteyam would look for you after lessons, but you were always snatched away with another duty whenever he would try to make his move. But you couldn't be that busy, would you? Unless you were actively avoiding him. Tsireya would reassure him that you were being kept busy with your mother and how your attention was always needed in the healers' marui.
Lo'ak would suggest jokingly (not really) that he should get injured on purpose just to feel the carress of your hands touching his skin whilst adding smooching sound effects to tease him. Kiri would smack the back of his head afterwards for his stupid idea. Neteyam felt even more stupid for considering his brother's words.
Until the opportunity rose itself. Ao'nung held a small gathering– a party as Lo'ak called it– that night for na'vi his age. It was kept hidden from the adults because he knew that his parents would never approve of this, especially when he brought alcohol that he shouldn't be drinking because he is not of age yet.
You, the golden child of Ronal and Tonowari, never told on him. You loved how you get to worry about your tasks for a while and being surrounded with your peers.
Neteyam couldn't take his eyes off you. You were glowing, you always were, but it felt different for him today. You were smiling with your group of friends until one of them nudged your arm and pointed his direction. He quickly looked away and acted as if he was staring at the fire that served as the gathering's source of light. He scolded himself internally for acting like a coward. All the courage he collected to speak to you just left him.
"Neteyam?"
The forest boy spun around too quickly for his liking with his eyes wide. Your name stuttered from his lips.
You chuckle, "Hi. Are you enjoying yourself?"
He nodded, "I did not think Ao'nung had such drinks." He shook the wooden cup on his hands before looking at you. It seems to be his most favourite thing to do, just having you in his line of vision.
"Hmm… my brother does not have the knowledge for this. To make a drink like this, you have to take paysyul that lives outside the reef. Take the petals off and then squeeze the ovary."
Neteyam's eyebrows furrowed, then it relaxed when he realised. He scoffed as a smirk presented on his lips. "This is your doing? That is impossible."
You laughed, "How come?"
"Because you…" He stared at you with adoration, his smile never leaving his lips. And since then, Neteyam knew you were full of surprises. He was driven to get to know you even more.
Everyone started to notice how close the two of you have gotten. Imagine the surprise Kiri and Lo'ak had when the eldest Sully child didn't come for their lesson and found him with you instead. He stayed with you in the healers' marui just to spend time with you.
They would notice how Neteyam's hand would rest on your lower back as you two would walk around Awa'tlu. How your gaze would linger on him longer. How one of your accessories consist materials from the forest. How Neteyam would intertwine your hands together to pull you away from something. How Neteyam's tail would swish excitedly at the sight of you.
Everyone noticed it.
Your time with Neteyam made you think that his arrival here was not a coincidence but destined by the Great Mother herself. You cant imagine living your life without Neteyam anymore. He somehow made a permanent mark in your life and you cant move on from something strong like that.
Maybe this excuses your reckless behaviour. Maybe this is why Neteyam met you, because you could save him. Maybe it's why you didn't hesitate to sit beside his panting figure, reaching for his kuru immediately when you spotted the wound on his chest that didn't stop bleeding.
"Save him, please!" Lo'ak begged. Your eyes remained on his kuru, tears flowing out of your eyes endlessly. "I know this is a big move, a-and I know there could be consequences. But please save my brother, please," he croaked out.
His cry for help was unnecessary because you knew you would do it either way. The boy you love is dying in front of you. The sight of him scared and panicked, panting for breath made you sob.
Jake watched with curious eyes as you created tsaheylu with his son. He's heard stories of your 'powers' but never seen them first hand. He remembered from Tonowari that healing any living creauture with your ability was dangerous, therefore was never used again. Yet he couldn't bring himself to stop you not when you could save his first child.
This was not how the bond should feel like, it was not how you wished for it to happen. You could only feel the pain on his chest and how his body is struggling to breathe for air. Neteyam could feel himself losing it, and you felt it too. You quickly took his dagger, tearing the skin of your palm apart making the wound deep.
Blood gushed out immediately as you pressed your hand against his wound immediately. You groaned feeling your energy being taken away from you. Neteyam stopped struggling for air, his eyes starting to feel heavy,
Lo'ak panicked at this. "What? What's wrong?"
"It's okay, he will live," Tsireya reassured. She watched how the eldest Sully fall into slumber, his chest now heaving up and down peacefully. The girl noticed how your body started to lean forward, eyes unfocused. She gasped when your eyes rolled back as you fell unconscious. "Sister!"
Jake caught your body before it could fall over on Neteyam. He and Tsireya gently laid your body beside your now muntxatan. Tsireya separated both of your kuru slowly.
Her eyebrows furrowed when the freckles on your cheeks started flickering on and off. The cut you made on your skin isn't healing. The wind arround them passed strongly. Your body turned pale, but heart still beating.
Eywa gave you a gift, but it came with a price.
