“The things I do for love.”

You grumbled and moaned about your situation as you reached into your coat pocket and pulled out the keycard to hold up to the card reader, unlocking the sliding door, allowing you into the building.

Normally, the Pledis building was closed this time of the night but with idols and producers working all hours of the night and day, entry was granted with a keycard which you happened to have.

You nodded at the security guard who looked over you, an amused smirk crossing their face as you passed but thankfully they said nothing as you stopped at the elevator, pushing the up button and waiting for the door to open.

Had you been smarter, you wouldn’t be standing there, dripping wet, waiting for the lift to take you up to the floor where your boyfriend’s studio was. Had you been smarter, you would have just ordered delivery and sent it to him rather than taking it yourself, but you didn’t pride yourself on your intelligence.

The ride up to the fourth floor was quick thankfully but you were still freezing, the combination of your wet clothes and the air conditioned building proving to be your undoing as you shivered, walking down the hall to Jihoon’s studio.

He was supposed to join you and the rest of Seventeen to celebrate a successful comeback but he never showed up to the restaurant and when you overheard one of the managers talk about Jihoon seeming a little on the sad side, you were up before anyone could stop you.

You stopped by one of your favorite pizza places and grabbed Jihoon’s favorite pie before stopping at a convenience store and grabbing some beer and making the walk to the Pledis building. Of course, you didn’t expect the sky to open up when you were a couple blocks away.

Now you looked like a drowned cat as you stopped outside the door to Jihoon’s studio. Woozi’s room.

You tried the handle, not at all surprised that it was locked. You knocked on the door and called out to your boyfriend.

You expected he might have his headphones on but you were determined. You knocked again, a little louder this time before pressing the button for the bell next to the door. A neat little feature Jihoon had installed. It was a buzzer but it was also attached to a light that flashed to let him know someone was there.

It worked like a charm, a smile spreading across your face when you heard him.

“Who is it?” Jihoon called through the closed door. “It’s me!” You called back.

A brief silence followed before Jihoon spoke again. “Babe, I’m not gonna be done here for a while, you should probably just go home.”

Your smile fell into a frown. “Uh, it’s raining outside,” you countered.

“Then call a cab?”

Your frown turned into a scowl. Oh no he didn’t.

“Look” you started hotly. “I didn’t get soaking wet walking to your studio for you to say no to pizza,” you explained, shouting through the door. When you heard no sound on the other side, you continued.

“I have beer, too. I know you’re sad, so let me in.”

The door opened moments later and Jihoon appeared, looking you over, an amused smile forming on his lips.

“Wow you weren’t kidding,” he said as he stood back to let you in. “Careful,” he added. “You’re dripping everywhere.”

You threw him an annoyed look before setting the pizza box and six pack on the coffee table in the small nook of his studio. You removed your coat and looked around for somewhere to hang it up.

“Here,” Jihoon said softly, holding out a towel and taking your soaked coat. You thanked him and started to dry yourself with the towel. Jihoon returned moments later and shook his head, moving to sit on the couch in the small nook.

You sat next to him, placing the towel under you as he grabbed one of the beers and opened it. “Who said I was sad?” He asked, looking up at you as you opened your own beer. “One of the managers,” you replied, reaching out to grab the pizza box and open it.

Jihoon shook his head. “I’m not sad,” he answered. “I just didn’t feel like going out with everyone,” he continued, raising the bottle to his lips and taking another sip.

“But this,” he added, nodding towards the pizza and beer. “I don’t mind this.”

“Well that,” you replied, pointing at his smile. “Makes getting soaked worth it.”

“Oh shit,” Jihoon said, setting his beer down and getting up quickly. He walked over to the closet and opened it, kneeling down for a moment before standing back up and shutting the door. He returned with some dry clothes for you.

“You want me to just change right here?” You asked, setting your bottle down and looking at him with a raised eyebrow. He smirked, trying and failing miserably to hide it.

“Not like I haven’t seen it all before, babe,” he muttered, picking up his beer and grabbing a slice of pizza. You rolled your eyes, lightly slapping his leg. “Pervert.”

He chuckled lightly as you quickly tore off your wet clothes and pulled on the dry ones, thanking him silently as you wrapped your wet clothes in the towel.

“Thank you,” he replied. “For the pizza and beer,” he added when you turned to glare at him. Your glare softened and you smiled, leaning in to kiss his cheek.

“And for the show,” he added with a mischievous grin, causing you to slap his leg again and whine.

“Yah, Lee Jihoon!”
