People are obviously distracted from the actual statement, because duh, but I thought it was really good and worth dissecting.

I think it was established their were new fears/desires/whatever, and this seems the most clear cut as either. The theme of lack is important, hunger and want for company and want for the past, mixed in with the fear of that want. He knows the colors would be beautiful, but he leaves anyway. And those wants are expounded in the dinner, hungry and fake company.

So if there is a knew system I'm guessing this is defining one of the new entities. Fear/the drive of what isn't there, of emptiness, of hunger, of lack.

So far this reaction works for almost every episode. Outside of plant man's diary its all being communicated to a third party (I guess second party, since oiar is snooping on them (making us fourth party?)), we even get this vocalized in 2.
