Just wanted to write an angsty Giyuu x Reader drabble, also if you want you can pick the illness you are suffering from. Also, sorry it’s short😅

Genre: angst

Warnings: GN!reader, death

Summary: Giyuu was on his way to a mission when his crow tells him his s/o is dying at home from their illness

Giyuu has never run so fast. How could he be so stupid?! He knew you were in a terrible state when he was assigned this mission, and he knew it would take a while to get there and back. But it's not like he just left you there by yourself, he could never do that, he would never forgive himself if he did. He left you with Shinobu to make sure this didn't happen...so why are you now dying?!

Did Shinobu not take good care of you? Or are you just so far into your illness that it's to late to change anything.

As Giyuu ran, his mind races with all these thoughts, but there was one thing he knows for sure; he doesn't want you to leave him so quickly.

You're the only person who doesn't see him as weird or cold – sure, maybe at first he seemed a bit out of it – but in all truth, you make him happy, you make him smile fore crying out loud! And trust me, that is no easy accomplishment. It's as if it's second nature to you.

He can't lose you! And he won't! No matter what he will try his hardest to help you live and be strong, like he always does.

Ever since he found out about your illness he always checked up on you on a regular basis until you eventually moved in with him where he could always check up on you – unless he's on missions like now.

If he doesn't make it to you in time or you don't survive, he will never forgive himself.

Finally, he can see headquarters insight. You have no idea how relieved he is to see it, but he can't stop here. He needs to keep going till he’s by your side.

He runs into Butterfly mansion and asks Aoi which room you are in, and Aoi points down the hall

“Once you finish the hallway, go left and then take another left. Their in-room number 62, be quick! We don't know how much longer they have”

That is all Giyuu needs. He nods to Aoi as a thank you and dashes of down the hall.

He reaches the end of the hallway and takes a left and then another left.

He scours around the hallway, looking for room number 62.

There!

He rushes over to the door. But just as he's about to turn the handle and open the door Shinobu opens it from the other side.

Shinobu slowly looks up to Giyuu with a sad, solemn look in her eyes. The words Giyuu heard next made him feel like the world stopped spinning for a moment.

“They didn't make it”

Who would have thought that those four words could feel like being stabbed in the chest over fifty times?

He took a deep breath

“Can I at least...see them, one last time. Even if they are de..de...d...”

He couldn't bring himself to say it

“Of course”

Shinobu moved out the way for Giyuu to go inside then closed the door and walked away to leave Giyuu to grieve in peace.

Once Giyuu’s eyes landed on you he felt his eyes start to water. He quickly was by your side, as if it would do anything to wake you up from your now deep eternal sleep.

Giyuu can't hold back his tears anymore when he grabs a hold of your hand. It's still warm. He embraces you and sobs into your chest. How could he let this happen? Why was he so foolish! If only he had heard sooner or never went on the mission in the first place, this would never have happened, or at least had been there when you died. But no. Instead he was just a moment late, a minute– no– a second too late. He only had two words on his mind right now, and he said them out loud as if you were still there, listening.

“I'm sorry”

Imma be honest, when he first met you he thought you were annoying

But as he got to know you better he realised you're not all that bad, you're actually very kind and gentle and care about others around you

Before you started dating he often questioned with himself why you were nice to him because he is often mean and blunt

He enjoys and appreciates it when you're kind and gentle to him

Although he would never admit it

If someone made you upset/cry then you best believe they’re gonna get a death stare and a blunt remark

And if they made you upset/cry on purpose, ho ho boy

To be honest I don't know what was going through that person's head when they decided to make the Byakuya Togami’s s/o upset/cry

Like, he could probably destroy their life at any moment like what-

If you need comforting and you're in a public place, he will pull you into a private place and then comfort you

He has too much of a big ego to comfort you in front of people, unless there is nowhere private and you really need comforting will he comfort you in front of other people

Mondo Owada

At first, much like Byakuya, he found you annoying

But as he got to know you, he actually got slightly envious of how kind and gentle you are to everyone, even to people who make you upset

But once he gets through his envious faze he's very chill

Even though sometimes he can be a bit intimidating (you never tell him that though because you know if you did it would crush him to bits and you don't want him to go through anymore pain)

You have no idea how much this man loves you

This man would beat down anyone who makes you upset/cry

And if anyone made you upset/cry on purpose...

To be honest, no one would

Because who in their right mind would make Mondo Owada’s s/o upset/cry on purpose

No one

That is unless they want a death wish

Much like Byakuya, Mondo’s ego would keep him from comforting you in public, unless there is nowhere to go and you need comforting really bad

Kiyotaka Ishimaru

When he first met you he felt bad for you because you would get upset a lot

But as he got to know you better he actually admired how kind and gentle you are with everyone and still does

Loves when you're kind and gentle to him and will try and return it as much as you do

If someone makes you upset/cry they will get the harshest glare known to man and a short 2 min lecture about how they shouldn't have done that and to apologise to you

Whereas if someone makes you upset/cry on purpose there would still be a harsh glare and a lecture but the lecture would be so long that you would have to intervene and tell him it's fine and that they've probably got the message now

Taka wouldn't be afraid to comfort you in public regardless of who's there, if you are upset in any way shape or form he will be there for you no matter what
