While I do agree with the lack of representation of broken families in kids media, and how needed it is, we are talking about BroZone here.

They aren't writed to be a toxic family, they are writed to be flawed characters, just like Branch. And I think that, for a character like Branch, who's trauma comes from a place of missing his family, having back his brothers that love him (even if they are a bunch of FUCKING IDIOTS, DEAR GOD, JUST GO TO THERAPY-) and want to know him and want to be better and just- missed him so much...

I do think those stories are necesary, but this family? Just isn't as bad as you guys want to see it

Quick disclaimer, english is not my first language. Oh! And this is going to get a little psychological

Let's remember the context of the characters, 'key?

When we get to the story, seeing through little Ramón's eyes, we see four boys who seem to hate each other. We don't know why.

Some may think that the reason they left was because their hatred for each other was greater than their love.

But let's think for a moment! About the family situation these kids were living:

Their parents are gone. They work doing something they haven't enjoyed in a long time. Even if their grandmother is there as a loving caretaker, she is juggling. Raising five kids of different ages, with different needs. She has to deal with the two teenagers, there's also one that is entering adulthood and other who is leaving childhood AND ON TOP OF ALL! She has. A. Fucking. Baby.

So the family situation was shitty, right?

And in that last fight he just- left because if he didn't, he was going to kill those three idiots or was going to kill himselve.

These were four angry, hurt and desperate for freedom teenagers.

And they did what angry, hurt and desperate teens do best. Run away from home

They didn't thought that they were abandoning their little brother, they thought that they wanted to live their lives. And, sorry, but I think they had the right to do so. Just as they also had no responsibility to take care of their baby brother.

Because, plain and simple, Branch's brothers are. NOT. His. Dad.

I'm so hoping that the Trolls Christmas special this year is about the struggle of getting the family together to take a decent holiday picture.

The struggle of finding a date that works for everyone because everyone is off doing their own thing and trying to get everyone in one place is absolute hell.

Trying to coordinate outfits, and it still ends up a bust. Either someone doesn't listen and wears something that doesn't match with the group, or a pair ends up twinning by accident, and now it's throwing off the rest of the group.

Posing also being absolute hell because you can't have A and B stand next to each other, A's way taller than B, but you can't put B next to D because you already know they can't be trusted to stand next to each other. If you move C next to E, then they'll make each other laugh and ruin the pictures, but if you put E next to A, then the picture will probably be a bit more balanced. Actually, instead of standing, how about we have everybody sit on some steps?

Cue the groaning and numerous complaints because they've been trying to take pictures for the past 15 minutes, and they've only gotten one decent picture. Decent being generous because, of course, somebody just had to sneeze and lowkey ruin the one picture they've managed to take 🙄

Anyway, lowkey might write a fic about this because every time I've been forced to take a family picture, it's been a terrible but fun experience 😁

I don’t have much of the story yet but Im gonna post like by lil some parts of the story.

For now, Poppy play the role of Norman, she is capable to see and talk with death beings like humans and animals.

Branch is a ghost of a witch how got accidentally wake up by Poppy and ended up being stuck in her aura; he needs Poppy’s help for him to find his five brothers and be finally together
