In December 2023 they laid off a huge percentage of their translation teams, replacing them with ai and having the remaining members review the ai translations to make sure the translations are “acceptable” (Note how they use the world acceptable and not accurate)

I have most of the ranks summarized. Now I just have to actually make them fit into camp and modify them a bit for camp structure. It’s… a lot more roles, but it’s my re-imagined and I can do what I want with the concept I’ve been building and it helps stage how I want camp to feel in the re-imagining (regimented, suffocating, and confusing compared to Camp Half-Blood. Something something more concepts that maybe I’ll use a different time-)

The actual reason I wanted to write this was just to say that if I hear another person say the word “preppy” around me to describe something or an action I perform I will actually sob. Was standing for the bus and had one of my friends call it preppy when I started talking and jumping about like Pompey the Great or something-

It actually irritates me, which arguably it is 100% a dumb thing to get irritated over. But it upsets me and I need somewhere to vent-

Anyway… I’m gonna make strawberry cupcakes today :3 and probably finishing off the note summaries because after that I can work on the ranking in my free time at school because then I don’t need (as much) historical accuracy.

Anyway I was scrolling and saw another on of the silly little photos of the lizard from the Pjo Tv show,

And it got me thinking, what type of lizard (gecko) is that? Does he give us any silly foreshadowing?

This is a crested gecko I believe, and though crested geckos don’t have any specific mythos geckos themselves symbolize adapting to situations, regrowth, protections (dubious but idk)

And crested Geckos change colors through their natural life! I think having one of them specifically is really fun for the show because in line with the symbolism that I found they map well with Percy (who has to grow and adapt to demigod life)

We’ll see idk I don’t usually pull from specific eras of Rome intentionally-) weapons post coming up, and more in depth map one :3
