destroy the idea that intermediate goals aren’t important. maybe you can’t play the entire piano piece yet, but you can play the right hand and that’s good. maybe you haven’t figured out your major yet, but your minor or your field and that’s progress. maybe you can’t hold a full conversation in your target language yet, but you can ask for directions and that’s fine. setting high goals is good, but don’t diminish the small goals you achieve on your way there. they are just as important.

I love people who know how to interact with children respectfully, such as playing games with them and not complaining or half-assing it, speaking to them normally and uncondescendingly, and just dealing with them with the utmost enthusiasm and patience !! someone who knows how to access their own inner child ✨

A piece of advice from my favorite podcast, My Favorite Murder. If you’re getting a bad vibe from someone or if the hair on the back of your neck is standing up, you don’t have to keep talking to them or do what they ask. You can turn around and get the fuck out of there.

Remember that we only have this one life. Only one. And yet, it is so short. We only have so much time. Look back, and it will seem like you were just born yesterday. See how fast time has flown by? It’s astounding. So take a moment. Right here, right now. Remember how valuable you are. Remember how short life really is. Are you living your dreams? Are you working on yourself? Your relationships? Your talents and goals? Are you genuinely happy? Do you feel contempt? We only have so many days. So many seconds. Please, make sure you don’t waste a single one of them, for they will continue to fly by faster than we can even notice.
