My Parents Keep Trying To Get Me To Visit Algeria To See My Stepfather's Property There And Just To Take
My parents keep trying to get me to visit Algeria to see my stepfather's property there and just to take a vacation, but I smoke medical marijuana to help my seizure disorder and I'm transgender and on HRT and both of those things are illegal there.
I really would like to be able to travel the world at some point, I just don't know what countries are safe for me to travel to where I would be able to have my medication available.
Obviously, I would kind of be limited to countries with legalized or decriminalized cannabis, but I'm also really worried about the idea of what countries have anti-trans laws that would really negatively affect me if I visited.
If anyone has any suggestions for countries that are trans friendly and cannabis friendly I would love to know.

So fun fact about me is that I've been chronically homeless on and off since I was 16 years old.
I've never been in a salvation army homeless shelter because they refused to take trans people at the one near where I used to live, but I have been kicked out of an affiliated United Way shelter for coming out as non-binary and crying whenever the staff barged into my room while I was in the middle of changing clothes to comment about my genitalia and my gender at birth.
I know someone who was staying at a salvation army shelter and ended up getting kicked out because they bought their kids "too many Christmas gifts" using gift cards that they had earned through receipt scanning websites and gift cards they have been given by friends and family specifically to get their kids Christmas presents.
I know someone who worked as a bell ringer during the holiday season while staying at a salvation army shelter and not only were they never paid, but the salvation army attempted to charge them because they thought that there was less in the bucket than there should have been despite the fact that the buckets were literally locked shut and could not be accessed by volunteers.
I know transgender women who have gone to salvation army shelters after having their legal name and gender changed but the second that someone finds out that they're trans they get kicked out, often literally kicking and screaming, with a host of transphobic and homophobic slurs thrown after them.
I know probably seven or eight people who have accused either staff or other people staying at salvation army shelters of sexual assault and nothing has ever been done about it. Two of the people I'm thinking of were underage when it happened and we're staying at the shelter with their parents. The salvation army does not give a shit if you get raped while you're staying in one of its shelters because they think it's not their problem.
Generally just fuck the salvation army.

DO NOT SUPPORT SALVATION ARMY
Apparently I'm one of the few people who gets really negative side effects from PrEP.
Ever since I started taking it, I've been extremely nauseous pretty much every day, I've had a lot of really negative stomach symptoms, and I've had a pretty much constant migraine.
I figured that these were just temporary side effects but it's been like a week and it just keeps getting worse. The only new medication I've started during this time was the truvada, since my birth control was on back order and I've been on testosterone for a lot longer than I've been on truvada, so it's the most likely culprit.
I really don't want to stop taking it, because I am a trans man who mostly dates gay and bisexual men and I am polyamorous so I date outside of my relationship, but I don't know if I can live my normal life just constantly being sick like I have the flu.
I understand that prep is a really good medication for people to be on but, unfortunately, it seems like it can have side effects that just don't make it worth it, or at least don't make it worth it to me as someone who is already extremely careful about STD prevention.
It really sucks because I want to be on this medication for my own safety just to be sure, because you never know, dating sites are fucked up, but unfortunately I don't think I can keep taking it.
Bummer.

Potato is gift from God.
All hail the Almighty Potato.

Some of y'all are worse than Facebook moms throwing tantrums about being called cisgender

Why the fuck do some people just wanna be intersex so damn bad? Why does it piss these people off so bad to be reminded they're not intersex? What will it take to keep perisex people from talking over us?
If you believe shit like this, you;
Don't know what intersex means
Fetishize/idealize intersex bodies
Are too immature to accept when something isn't about you
Needless to say; No. An intersex body is NOT always similar to a person trans person's body. There isn't just one way a person can be intersex. We deserve non-pathologizing words to describe ourselves and advocate for our recognition as a natural variation in human anatomy. We deserve spaces to discuss our health and our issues, we're already drowned out by perisex people enough as it is. An intersex person, cis or trans, with Salt-wasting CAH or Sawyer syndrome or pre-cancerous ovotestes or Turner syndrome (+ others) has a far different body with far different needs than any perisex trans person. My variation is not life-threatening or disabling, but it DOES cause medical complications and is a huge headache for my doctors at times! I do not share these issues with perisex trans people! It is not fucking transphobic or ""eugenicist"" to say that!
Perisex does not imply any specific body type.
Perisex only implies a lack of naturally occurring intersex traits.
Perisex ≠ Cissexual
A perisex body can look like anything. Just as an intersex body can look like anything. Being trans puts you outside the 'sex binary', it makes you sex-variant, but it does not make you intersex.
If you believe it is possible to medically transition into Intersexuality, you must also believe medical abuse successfully 'fixes' us, and makes us perisex.
Referring to words coined & used by intersex people to differentiate our bodies from our oppressors as "eugenicist" is deeply intersexist and frankly fucking entitled.
Yes. I did say perisex people are an oppressor class. You can be a marginalized person and still be part of an oppressive majority (example, I am white). If this makes you angry, that's not my problem, it's yours. You need to recognize your privilege as a perisex person before you can be an ally to intersex people.
I broke two ribs and didn't know for a few weeks because I thought I was just sore or having a gallbladder attack. I developed costicondritis (spelling is off, chest wall swelling) that made me think I was having heart issues and the ER trip showed that I was in the process of healing two fractured ribs (3 cracks total!).
Heightened pain tolerance and being used to being sick is crazy.
An issue with a lot of whump and injury writing guides is that they also tend to assume that the characters are always able-bodied but like.
It's been proven over and over again that people with chronic pain have higher tolerances for everyday pain, including things that would leave other people crying or screaming. When you experience dizziness, body aches, chills, etc as just your baseline, those things aren't a good indicator that you're injured or bleeding. Even mild concussions are very hard to notice when you have chronic headaches/migraines (speaking from experience).
And those are just the experiences of general chronic pain, not even more severe and debilitating conditions that can completely warp someone's relationship to their body and their brain's way of processing pain.
