Looking back on that childhood “friend” episode im actually stunned at how unnatural and uncomfortable it all is. Especially compared to fizz, who was left behind at the circus all alone :(

The dialogue is bizarre, stolas has such an annoying accent and he talks like a fully grown adult, half the time he is fact checking and lecturing Blitzø about something. While Blitzø doesn’t want to be there and he finds stolas boring, weird, creepy, and annoying. He seems amused by how easy it was to trick him. He also smiles when he tosses the bag of stuff to his dad. Lol. Then the chandelier scene, what was that? Why did stolas get excited as if he’s never seen his own furniture before? Then they say “oh yes!” “Yeah woohoo” about…a chandelier? And they fall down. What was that dude.

The tree scene - ugh. Stolas lectures about the grimoire, with his finger pointed up in the air. Blitzø says it’s cool. Okay. But he doesn’t have any strong feelings about his own future or his life. Blitzø talks about his dreams, which is cute, but stolas laughs not with but at him, the entire time. The funniest part to stolas is the idea of an imp hiring him. Which irritates Blitzø as much as “is this an imp game” he just grumpily replies “yeah if I feel like it..” And when he says he’d be a good boss and a great business, he’s talking as if a parent is saying “that’s great sweetie, we’ll put your drawing of this cat-dog-thing..right on the fridge” and Blitzø says “you say that with sarcasm” was stolas just always a pompous jerk? I don’t think the ‘he was raised that way it’s not who is’ excuse is true at all. There is zero bond and zero chemistry here.

It's insane, isn't it? Blitzo is literally plucked from his moment with Fizz, the two of them happily playing their little balloon horse game with no hard feelings about Fizz having to swoop in to upstage him, and dropped in front of this little rich boy he hates being around and we're told that the latter is the childhood friend romance that's written in the stars.

Still, the funniest anime I've seen

I watched this many years ago, yet no anime comes close to it for me as far as humor is concerned.

I put it in my Netflix queue so I can watch it again sometimes.

I wished they had finished it though.

I would love to see Haruki and Tamaki as a couple with their kiss and marriage animated.

As well as everyone finding out about her.

Kiss, Kiss fall in love indeed. :)

A curiosity about Stolas's love for Blitz

It's obvious Stolas uses Blitz as escapism from his poorly written abusive marriage.

However, let's look at the facts about that escape.

He's still doing his negative coping mechanisms of excessive drinking, drinking to blackout, and over medicating on his antidepressants...

He still has no friends. He's still isolated. He's still a wallflower at parties.

He's still sad. He's still crying.

He also seems to ignore that Blitz and Stella's personalities are very similar. You know aggression and can be cruel. Wasn't he trying to get away from that? They even share the spelling thing that he was getting miffed about.

Even though Stolas uses Blitz as his "safe place" Blitz still drives him to do the damaging things above. Sooo just like his marriage before.

More negatives that this "escapism relationship" has brought:

Neglected his daughter till she had enough

Gets in trouble with demon law and loses everything

Hmm seems like Stolas is doing escapism all wrong, but anyway Stolitz 4 Evah.

I'm wondering what the game plan is for sympathy when the leaks become canon.

I mean Octavia point-blank says she's estrangling herself from Stolas because of his actions with Blitz.

So if Stolas stays with him after this it's going to make him look like a monster.

This act will make it look like he's saying why yes she actually didn't matter.

If Viv thought the dragging Stolas got from the Full Moon and Apology Tour was surprising just wait until she makes Stolas still put his obsession over his daughter, and this is when it has gotten so bad Octavia goes no contact with him over it.

I mean does she even want sympathy for him by this point?

Or is she truly just writing for fujoshi who don't care as long as they get their Domesticated Stolitz?

A domestication mind you that will always have the taint of his broken, estranged daughter hanging over it.

Humans vs Gravity

It's fascinating but also frightening that the sheer force of gravity is why we aren't careening into space right now.

My anxiety is letting me think about these things..... :(
