Helloooo It's Me Again With The Ask Game This One Sounds Fun

helloooo it's me again with the ask game šŸ’„ this one sounds fun

🧠, šŸ‘„, šŸ«‚ !!!

@mellowwhumps

thank you mello! u are truly a real one.. and these asks were SO fun to do bc ive never really written my boys like. Addressing the audience.

also tea! @whump-upon-a-starry-night thank u for asking as well! this encompasses your ask so im gonna delete that one from my inbox (äŗŗĀ“āˆ€`)

🧠- What's your best memory with them? Worst?

simon:

ā€œMy best memory with Archie? Hm. If I had to pick one, I’d probably have to say meeting him in the first place. It’s what won me over, after all. He was like a sad, wet dog, begging me to let him in. It was endearing, unfortunately. As for my worst, it’s really anytime he manages to almost get himself killed. Mostly when he gets head injuries and doesn’t call me. I don't know how many times I need to tell him to check in when he has a concussion.

archie:

ā€œI have to pick just one? Ughhh! I have a lot of good memories with Simon, but a more recent one is when I caught him humming The Imperial March in the kitchen. He denied it but.. I know what I heard. And a worst memory? Um.. I don’t really have any bad memories with him that weren’t caused by me in some way. Him getting held hostage was... not fun.ā€

šŸ‘„- What are they to you?

simon:

Simon doesn’t respond for a long moment, considering the question carefully.

ā€œArchie is.. someone I respect very deeply. He is someone I consider worth my time and effort, but it’s.. sort of hard to explain how I feel about him fully, even though I spend so much time with him. I guess.. I just appreciate who he is as a person. I appreciate what he does for others. I guess that makes him kind of like an inspiration to me? All I know is that I’m lucky to be so close to someone like him.ā€

archie:

Archie’s eyes light up immediately upon the question being asked.

ā€œSimon is my favorite person! He’s everything to me. Obviously, he’s my medical guy, but he’s so much more than that too. Other than my mother, he’s the only one who knows me as both Archie and Vigil. Honestly, he’s the only person that really knows me. He’s seen me at my worst, and I think because of that, he's someone very special to me.ā€

šŸ«‚- How has your relationship changed recently?

simon:

ā€œOur relationship? I haven’t noticed any significant changes. I guess he’s been spending some more time at my apartment, but that’s just because his landlord is an asshole. Nothing too out of the ordinary. He does have a toothbrush in my apartment, though.ā€

archie:

ā€œSimon and I have been spending more time together! And it’s been especially nice because it hasn’t been only when I get hurt. We’re making our way through the Clone Wars, and I can see him getting more and more into it. I think he’s kind of tired from school though, because he keeps falling asleep on me. I have no complaints. I guess that’s one way our relationship is changing. I think he’s more comfortable with me now.ā€

OK LAST QUICK QUESTION OF THE NIGHT. when i saw the Accidental Sneak Peek, i saw the word terminator and. i must know.

what other robot-related nicknames/puns does jj use for morri. they are TOO silly.

AHA BUG YOU'VE CAUGHT MY FAVORITE DYNAMIC

i'm going to give you the ones I've used so far, and a handful more:

Terminator (only used when they first meet, before JJ stops thinking of them as a weapon)

Tin can (rudely, when they first meet)

Baymax (when they're being an overbearing caretaker)

Tin man (the updated version of tin can, in reference to the Wizard of Oz. with prior gender permission from Morri of course)

Houston (used when JJ is in the field and Morri isn't, reference to Houston, we have a problem. yeah it's not a robot it's still funny to me tho)

Optimus Whine (when they're audibly malfunctioning)

Insists on calling them "Alan" during a mission because of the Turing Test. JJ thinks he is very funny

Fritzy/sparky (when they're injured or glitching)

Heavy metal (sometimes instead sung to the lyrics "heavy metal broke my heart", centuries, fall out boy)

those are all the ones you get the test are SECRET (i have to come up with more lmao) ANYWAY i am so sorry this is late but!!! here you go!!!!

ą¼¶ā€¢ā”ˆā”ˆąØā™”ą§ā”ˆā”ˆā€¢

The catalyst had been Simon’s shift in the pediatric unit.

Contrary to what most people might think, Simon actually really loved kids. He found working with them to be very entertaining, and they tended to bring out a softer side of Simon.

It’s just that, well, he was assigned to the pediatric unit in January, the height of flu season.

Now, Simon prided himself on being a very healthy man despite some of his unhealthier habits. He may not sleep as often as he should, but he drank lots of water and ate well and got his flu shot every year.

So when he came home from his shift feeling a little more run-down than usual, he chalked it up to skipping a cup of coffee in the morning and moved on.

He made himself a hasty dinner (a leftover bowl of microwave mac ā€˜n cheese from the night before) and settled into the couch, content to nap the rest of the day away in preparation for his shift tomorrow, when suddenly his phone chimed.

It was a text from Archie.

[Hey Simon! Just checking to make sure we’re still on to go see that movie tonight? I just emailed you your ticket!]

Fuck.

Simon had completely forgotten about his plans with Archie. Plans that had been in place for nearly two weeks now. Plans that took place in thirty minutes. Flaking was out of the question. No, Simon couldn’t do that to Archie, not after he finally agreed to take a day off of patrol to do this with him.

Simon dragged a hand across his face and groaned lowly. He shot Archie a quick reply of confirmation and let his phone slip from his hand.

He could sleep when he was dead. He could power through a few more hours, surely.

He got up and reluctantly made his way to his bathroom to get ready. The reflection in the mirror looked.. off. His hair was mussed and his entire face was paler than he’d seen in a while, save for the red splotches high on his cheeks. The dark circles that were ever-present were somehow even darker and more pronounced. He looked terrible.

Simon blinked dazedly at the mirror before spurring into action. He doused his hair with water and combed out all the tangles. The wet hair on his neck made him shudder. Then, he quickly splashed his face with cold water to eke more color into it and changed out of his scrubs and into his shirt.Ā

Once he deemed his appearance acceptable, he texted Archie that he was on his way and locked his door behind him.

••••

Simon arrived at the theater feeling even worse than he had before.

It was with great shame that he silently admitted to himself that he may have picked something up from work.

Now, to go along with the exhaustion, was a vicious chill that clamped around his body and had him pulling his knit sweater even tighter around himself. He also had a splitting headache that made it hard to think and he felt vaguely nauseous, but he elected to ignore that particular symptom.

Just a few more hours, Guevara. You can do this.

He straightened and put on a brave face before finding Archie standing outside the theater and walked right up to him.

ā€œSimon! You made it!ā€ Archie chirped, practically bouncing over to him. ā€œGod, I’m so excited. I’ve been wanting to see this movie for months!ā€

Simon smiled, and despite everything, it wasn’t forced. They were going to watch some new murder mystery movie-- not necessarily a movie Simon would have picked out himself, but seeing Archie so riled up made it worth it.

ā€œWell what are we waiting for? Wouldn’t want to miss those trailers, would we?ā€ Simon managed, leading the way for Archie. He walked in front, mostly so he could hide his sickly appearance from Archie until they were in the dimly lit theater.

Soon, they were situated in the fold-up seats with a big bucket of popcorn. Archie was practically vibrating with excitement, and as much as Simon wanted to match the energy, he could feel himself deteriorating.

He was regretting not washing his hands more often with those kids.

His entire body was hurting now. His headache was raging on, even when the lights shut off for the beginning of the movie. His eyelashes felt like they had weights on them.

Simon tried to stay awake, he really did. Archie had been looking forward to this little outing for so long, and the last thing Simon wanted to do was make his illness known and ruin the evening.

He tried various methods-- biting his tongue, digging nails into his palm, adjusting his position every five seconds-- but he found that his efforts were in vain.

Soon enough, his eyes drooped shut and his head lolled forward.

He hoped Archie would be too enthralled in the movie to notice.

••••

The first thing Simon registered when he woke up was someone shaking his shoulder, and the blurry silhouette of credits rolling on the movie screen in front of him.

ā€œSimon? Hey, wake up. Are you okay?ā€ Archie’s voice filtered in.

Simon groaned softly and scrunched his eyebrows together at the disturbance. He felt a hand settle on his forehead, then slide down to his cheek, and finally his neck. He couldn’t help but lean into the cool touch.

ā€œOh Simon.. You’re burning up,ā€ Archie cooed, smoothing some hair away from Simon’s sweaty brow. ā€œWhy didn’t you say anything..?ā€

Simon’s head slumped forward as he groaned again. He was having trouble focusing on Archie’s voice, let alone what he was saying. He felt so groggy. Usually he could bounce back from a nap with no problem, but presently, every muscle in his body was screaming at him to curl up and go back to sleep.

He whined lowly. Not only did he feel so miserable, but he had knocked out for the entirety of the movie Archie waited months to see. He had to be the worst friend ever. He hoped Archie would forgive him.

ā€œHey, it's okay! We can rewatch it another day! Lets just get you home, okay? I’m going to carry you,ā€ Archie declared, adjusting himself a bit.

Something about this didn’t compute. Simon knew he was taller than Archie. There was no way he would be able to carry him all the way to the parking structure where he parked. It couldn’t be possible.

ā€œI have super-strength, silly,ā€ Archie whispered with a soft laugh. ā€œCarrying you feels like carrying a carton of milk to me.ā€

Oh right. Super-strength. Made sense.

Simon didn’t have too much time to dwell on it before his center of gravity suddenly tilted and he was pressed close to a warm body.

Instinctively, he curled up against it. He let his head fall on Archie’s shoulder and draped his arm around his neck. Archie was so warm and he felt so cold. It was heavenly to be so close to him.

ā€œSomeone’s clingy,ā€ Archie mused, beginning the gentle walk to the car.

The process of getting to the car went by in a blur, but Simon was eventually settled in the passenger seat, his own sweater draped across his legs and Archie’s pulled up to his chin.

ā€œGet some sleep. I’ll carry you into the apartment when we get there.ā€

Simon slept.

••••

The next time Simon woke up, he was laying on Archie’s couch with a thick Darth Vader print blanket. Despite this, he was somehow still shivering.Ā

ā€œOh, you’re awake!ā€ Archie smiled as he crouched next to Simon and brushed a knuckle over his brow. ā€œStill warm. I wanted to wait until you woke up to give you medicine.ā€

Simon blinked. Something felt wrong. Archie shouldn’t be the one doing this. This was one of his rare days off where he let himself just be a person. He shouldn’t be stuck looking after a med student who failed to take the proper precautions during his residency.

Simon couldn’t allow it.

He sat up, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. His arms shook as he pushed himself up.

ā€œNo. I’m fine.. Archie.. you should be relaxing.. it’s.. your day off,ā€ Simon managed, yanking the blanket off his legs, only to be met with a ferocious shiver that overtook his entire body.

Archie didn’t react. He only calmly guided Simon back to the couch and covered him with the blanket yet again. Simon couldn’t help but be grateful.

By the look on Archie’s face, Simon had a vague idea that in his previous feverish hazes, he had tried to escape as well.

ā€œRespectfully, if anyone needs to relax here, it’s you. You can hardly even stand,ā€ Archie said firmly, running a hand through Simon’s sweaty hair.

Simon shuddered at the touch and melted, letting his eyes fall closed once again to avoid eye contact. Damn it Archie. Stop making this harder than it needs to be.

ā€œSimon.ā€

Archie’s voice was more intense than Simon had heard it in a long time, and he forced himself to meet his gaze.

ā€œI truly can’t think of a better way to spend my day off. Let me take care of you. Please? You always do it for me,ā€ He half-whispered, the intensity replaced with a quiet plea.

Simon didn’t respond. Instead, he pulled the blanket tighter and leaned into Archie's hand as it combed through his locks.Ā

Fine. If that was how it was going to be, oh well.

Archie smiled at Simon’s silent acceptance, and leaned over to kiss the top of his head.

ā€œGet some rest. I’m going to go warm up some soup and get you some ibuprofen.ā€

Simon sleepily watched him disappear into the kitchen, looking nearly as excited as he did at the start of the movie.

Sir. Ma'am. Uhh, sa'am. I really love your ocs, especially Morrigan, so I wanted to ask if it would be possible for them to get a computer virus.

I know they're very human-adjacent, so if they CAN get viruses, I'm wondering if it would present itself like a regular sickness? Fever, dizziness, increased heart rate, at cetera. Or would it do things like screw up their perception by making it impossible to tell who their friends are versus their enemies?

And most importantly: Would it make their voice crackle and mix with static?

So far we've mostly just seen them being hurt by outside forces, like the hypothermia and the internal bleeding. The closest thing I can think of to a "virus" that's happened would be the cuddle glitch. So I've been really intrigued by the idea of something internal harming them.

Asking because I've become utterly obsessed with Morri as a whumpee. Very excited for future content!!

Hello hello hello! This made me so happy to see. I'm so pleased you love them as much as I do :)

Okay, so I did one of my really super long incredibly complicated reference pieces about this. I apologize if that's not what you're looking for, so I'll give you the short answers too: yes, yes and yes!

unspeakably long answer? take a look under the cut :)

Alright. So. Let's talk.

As noted, Morrigan is not immune to malfunctions, whether that be human responses to allergens or personalized attacks. We've already talked about the organic sides of things, so let's get into computerized threats.

First, Morrigan is not totally immune to viruses. They have a natural firewall, but there are several systems that run in the background, where they can't directly affect anything--so some choices are made without their input. With enough talent, a handmade virus could easily infiltrate.

Things to note:

Creators of viruses or worms often use psychological or social engineering to make it more enticing for victims. Curious, as Morri's built to manipulate.

Motivations for viruses are often profit, sabotage, or political messages. Morrigan is useless for these, unless the goal is terrorism, or directly undercutting the company-not-yet-named (CNYN) who created them.

Common effects of viruses include physical damage, loss of data, or leaked/stolen information. Lots of things that would greatly affect one Morrigan White.

Now, the meat of the issue. Or the ask, per se.

Virus makeup

Most often, there are three parts to a computer virus. The infection vector (the thing that infiltrates a computer), the payload (the harmful code that replicates itself, re:biological virus), and the trigger (an "if-then" code that tells the payload to execute).

The infection vector exploits and manipulates security weaknesses. I bring this up, though a mite obvious, because I love the image of Morrigan being at their weakest (physically, systematically, or emotionally) and getting kicked while they're down by a virus.

The payload can be any code. We've mentioned by passing how complex Morrigan is, just in general. So any target is dangerous--emotional vulnerabilities can mean friendly fire, physical breaks can mean imminent shutdown. And on top of that, all of the systems are intrinsically linked. One goes down? Expect several more to follow.

The trigger can be anything. I'm not going to say much more on that. But it can be anything at all.

Infiltration

A significant roadblock is finding a way to infiltrate Morrigan in the first place. Email and text scams are almost elementary to scan and avoid, and USB or cord connections are almost impossible, since they're actively mobile. So here are a few possibilities to think on:

1. Pure manipulation

Morrigan, as stated, is trained in manipulation, so to truly get ahead of them, you'd probably have to convince them of danger. Particularly danger of JJ's wellbeing. Or if you could give them an illusion, and state they have no other good choice, you might be able to accept it.

2. Manhandling/forcing

In the same way one can inject another with a syringe, if you were to get close enough to Morrigan, you might be able to physically inject a virus. However, that would be fairly noticeable--unless you're particularly adept at this kind of infiltration, or they're particularly incapacitated at the moment.

3. Technology improvements

With Morrigan being the birth of a futuristic technological era, there's no doubt engineers could come up with more creative ways to infiltrate. They are, in many ways, nearly human--how close could a computerized virus get to a biological one, in the future?

Cures and removals

Before we get into the really fun part, we should talk about how to heal Morrigan from a computer virus.

Depending on the payload or the target, any number of systems could be damaged. The first step is to neutralize the virus itself. Oftentimes, this means directly changing Morrigan's code--this can be done from their charging terminal, or by plugging in through a physical port, such as a USB. This is not comfortable for Morrigan, who has shown great discomfort in their code being altered, especially without permission.

If the virus has caused significant damage, a technical repair is required. This means finding a technician from CNYN and an excuse for their damage. Unhelpfully, if significantly impaired, Morrigan is far more likely to fail at lying when inflicted. So the best option is to power them down, give a sufficient defense to a CNYN technician, and collect them later.

All this to say, damage done to Morrigan is significantly dangerous not just to everyone else's wellbeing, but also to their cover--this is not just about how well they can fight. This is about whether or not they will be fully dismantled.

And finally for this section--certain viruses may be too quick to act. If so, finding a stalling agent or a countervirus to postpone shutdown is necessary. This will also need to be removed, and is far less comfortable coming out than going in.

Effects

At last. The part we were waiting for.

There are several significant effects of any computer virus, depending on what it's targeting. Here are several things I've considered:

Memory loss

Their memory banks may be significantly protected. However, loss of memory is a horrible thing to Morrigan, who uses past experience and analysis to affect their actions in the moment. Plus, they are not prone to feeling safe and secure at any given moment. Lack of understanding would contribute to hostility.

Behavioral changes

Possibly my favorite: Morrigan is highly specialized, but is first and foremost a weapon. Glitches in behavior can go from simply forgetting to blink to shooting an ally point blank. Personalized viruses can turn them into anything--killing machine or spy for the enemy.

Physical damage

If a line of code is even slightly out of place in the system it's run in, damage could be severe. Symptoms may include overheating, loss of material skin, unnerving eye colors, whistling, larynx malfunction (yes! static, crackling and mechanical whines when they attempt to speak), loss of motor function, and so on.

Infiltration and spying

Something interesting to note is Morrigan is an incredible piece of technology that absolutely must be kept secret. CNYN is not a benign company. Other groups, such as the Cages or vigilante systems underground, would take any chance at getting eyes on the inside. Morrigan, unfortunately, is a wonderful tool.

Here is a list of several symptoms that could occur directly as a result of a computer virus:

Hallucinations

Raspy, mechanical breathing

Overheating/heatstroke

Fevers

Lack of motor control

Lack of fine motor control

Lack of blinking, smiling, or facial expression

Unnerving eye colors (things that may be striking on a human face)

Speaking a different language

Inability to tell friend from foe

Lashing out

Sudden onset of extreme emotions

Whispering/shouting instead of speaking

Visible plating beneath their artifical skin

Memory loss or forgetting who/where they are

Loss of balance

Vertigo

Migraines

Nosebleeds (though they would bleed the thick substance that makes up their components instead of human blood)

Strange small behaviors (sighing at the wrong times, hiccuping)

Zoning out entirely

Shutdown (state of complete lack of function)

Stasis (state of low level sleep)

Uncontrollable worry

And many, many more

Increased heart rate

Crying

Notes

I'm so sorry if this isn't what you were looking for, but you greatly inspired me. I love fleshing out their technology and I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did writing it.

Thank you for the ask!!!

hi bug!

for your boys, just a thought: a moment where archie has to patch simon up. role reversal. like if simon tried to protect his boy and got himself hurt, and now he has to talk archie through patching him up.....

your boys are so lovely. i can't wait to see them get whumped to bits in the event!!!

- @whump-kia

kia this was genuinely such a blast to write that it ended up a tad longer than i originally planned for, thank you SO much for the prompt (Ėƒį†ŗĖ‚) i hope u like it as much as i loved writing it because these boys are SILLY.

to anyone else: see this post for character info!

ą¼¶ā€¢ā”ˆā”ˆąØā™”ą§ā”ˆā”ˆā€¢ą¼¶

There was a rumor circulating that there was an ā€œinconspicuous medical studentā€ spotted ā€œaiding the activities of a notorious vigilanteā€ in the city, and it was safe to say the crime lords and such were not happy about it.

The rumors were true, of course, but it didn’t make them any easier to deal with.

And Simon was currently dealing with them.

He should have known his extremely selfless and abundantly kind nature towards Archie would come back to bite him in the ass.

He’d be sure to rub it in Archie’s face when he saw him again.

ā€œYou’re the kid that’s been helping that little punk, aren’t you?ā€ The man spat in Simon’s face as he shoved him up against the wall.

Judging by the way he was dressed and the way he smelled, Simon had half a mind to assume he was a goon from the drug ring Archie had been after for some time now.

Fortunately, the guy clearly wasn’t the brightest. No experienced lackey would start heckling a target in the middle of an open alley way without checking if anyone was around first.

Unfortunately, the guy was quite a bit stronger than Simon and there really wasn’t anyone around after all.

Just my luck.

ā€œI don’t know what you’re talking about,ā€ Simon spewed back, struggling against the man’s grasp.

The man’s hand tightened around Simon’s neck and the gravity of the situation began to sink in.

He was alone in this alley. Sure, he had used the emergency button on his watch that sent signal to Archie as soon as he recognized he was in danger, but it had been a good amount of time and Archie was.. nowhere to be found.

ā€œDon’t play dumb with me!ā€ The man shouted, sending a knee slamming into Simon’s gut. ā€œYou’re going to tell me everything you know!ā€ Another knee to his middle sent him stumbling back and doubling over.

ā€œI don’t.. don’t know anything..ā€ Simon sputtered, coughing harshly and tasting metal.

Simon knew he was in hot water. He had no combat training, so self defense skills, and despite being decently fit, he was no where near the league of a guy who beat people up for a living. He needed to get out of there as fast as possible.

Alright Simon, c'mon. Focus. You can handle this. Just think.

Before Simon could form another coherent thought, a fist connected with his face that sent him reeling. Blood began leaking from his nose all down his mouth, and he choked on the taste. Before he could recover, his whole body was rammed against the brick wall and his arm was pulled awkwardly behind him.Ā

The punch had left him dazed, so dazed that he didn’t recognize the sound of two other guys approaching the scene.

ā€œFor god’s sake, don’t kill the kid! Rough him up, get some information, but don’t kill him. We'll have more use for him later,ā€ A deeper voice chided.

Simon heard vague mutters of obedience before he felt his arm being strained again.

ā€œAlright kid, since I’m feeling so nice, I’ll give you a chance to redeem yourself. Answer the question and you’ll be on your way,ā€ The man sneered. Simon could hear muffled snickers behind him, but couldn’t quite get the angle to look. ā€œWhat is the little punk’s real name.ā€

He knew he should be sizing up the scene and determining the best course of action, but goddamn his arm hurt. He could feel every tendon being strained at the orientation the man had it at.

Still, no matter what, he wasn’t going to sell out Archie. Archie would come. He always did.

ā€œN-No idea,ā€ Simon spat, stomping on the man’s toe in an attempt to buck out of the hold.

Unfortunately, the man was still significantly stronger than Simon, so his attempt at retaliation only served in angering him further.

ā€œYou littleā€”ā€œ The man growled, before twisting Simon's arm and yanking it fully out of its socket.

Simon let out a stuttering wail as the pain temporarily blinded him. Suddenly, his head was being slammed against the wall again and he couldn’t figure out what was hurting more now: his head, his arm, or his stomach.

He was almost sure he was done for, until he heard a familiar shout and the sound of a fist connecting with a face.

Took him long enough.

Simon let himself slide down the wall once the man was pulled off of him, cradling his aching shoulder as he watched. Through hazy vision, he saw Archie made quick work of the lackeys. It was a flurry of hollers and yelps and limbs flying, but eventually, Archie emerged unscathed and rushed right over to Simon.

ā€œI’m so sorry I was late! I was working, and I didn’t see the alert and— oh god, your arm!ā€ He blurted, hands awkwardly hovering over Simon, a complete contrast to the ruthless machine he had been not a few seconds earlier.

Simon wanted to be mad, he really did. The emergency alert was there for a reason, after all. But how could he stay angry when Archie was looking at him with such sincere concern and regret. Simon sighed.

ā€œIt’s not as bad as it looks.. it’s dislocated, but I’m pretty sure it’s not broken so we won’t need to go to the hospital,ā€ Simon explained.

Archie gave a small huff of relief.

ā€œYou do, however, need to help me pop it back into place.ā€

Archie blanched.

ā€œPop it back into place?! Isn’t that dangerous?! I don’t know what I’m doing!ā€ He babbled.

ā€œRelax, I’ll walk you through it. It’s not that hard. You just have to kinda.. push it until it feels right. I’ll let you know,ā€ Simon replied, absurdly calm for the situation at hand.

ā€œ..Ok..ā€Ā

Simon carefully instructed Archie on where to place his hands and where to push in, and after a bit more coaxing, they were ready.

ā€œAlright. Don’t give me a countdown. You have to just do it, or else I might tense up involuntarily and that could— URGH!ā€

A sickening snap reverberated from Simon’s offending limb.

ā€œSorry! I’m sorry! You said not to give you a countdown!ā€ Archie mewled, pulling his hands away as if he’d just been burned.

ā€œIt’s fine.. it’s.. I’m good.. you did good,ā€ Simon placated, squeezing his eyes shut at the lingering pain.

ā€œOkay.. okay, that’s done. We should get you back to your apartment and patched up.. that black eye looks.. pretty rough..ā€

ā€œDon’t I know it..ā€

Archie tenderly helped Simon to his feet, and supported the taller’s man weight with ease.

ā€œThanks for not, uh, selling me out by the way..ā€ Archie murmured, as they began their arduous journey back to Simon’s home.

ā€œWell, what type of ā€˜inconspicuous medical student’ would I be if I just went around telling everyone how I ā€˜aid the activities of a notorious vigilante’?ā€Ā

ā€œ...You’re an idiot.ā€

Simon grinned. Yep. All worth it.

Journey was a freaking what

HI SETH IT ME AGAIN HOPE YOU DONT MIND A FEW MISCELLANEOUS QUESTIONS

as always feel free to answer which ones you like and pass on the ones you don’t!

these are all for both jj and morri:

do they drink? (in morri’s case, do they ever need to drink to keep up social appearances? does it effect them?) and how do they act when tipsy/drunk?

what is their favorite feature about the other? could be personality-wise, physical, or one of each.

we learned about their pajamas but what do they wear on an average day? just whatever clothes they’re most comfy in their daily life?

ok now venturing into deeper territory: what are their biggest regrets. what keeps them up at night?

do they keep any secrets from the other? how important is it that the other doesn't find out? could be small secrets or huge ones.

LASTLY what is one thing the other does that drives them crazy. INTERPRET THAT HOW YOU WILL COULD BE SILLY OR SERIOUS

your sillies live in my mind. they have a little apartment and everything. they're cooking breakfast right now.

HI BUG EVERY QUESTION FROM YOU IS A BLESSING. never fear my askbox it welcomes you

long post alert I LOVE these questions so so much

Do they drink?

Morrigan does have systems allocated to eating and drinking, but they get no pleasure from it. In fact, it's more likely to make them feel ill. If however they have to drink, they might act tipsy or drunk for the act. They turn down alcohol when they can though--it's combustible and they're machine made of metal.

JJ was underage, not even sixteen, when he first became a hero. He was only 18 when he became Journey. However, that didn't stop him from a beer with his friends back home or a college-style blackout drunk episode. He doesn't like getting drunk now, his body isn't accustomed to it and he gets very violently sick if he drinks too much.

Favorite feature about the other?

At first, Morrigan was somewhat taken by JJ's freckles. They were so natural, and gave his face a glow and a warmth to it. Now, though, it's kind of everything. There is no trait that disgusts Morrigan. They don't realize any love for JJ besides loyalty--that is, loyalty to everything he is, was, and will be.

JJ is very shocked to discover how soft their hair is. The moments when they break down, and allow his fingers to brush over their head, took him completely aback. When the Crush starts actually developing, there's no point where he isn't wanting to reach over and just tangle a finger in their black locks.

Outfits!

JJ:

He's most comfortable in his home letterman from high school. It's tan and red, it's got his last name on the back, it's his most prized piece of clothing, even if he has to hide it sometimes to be less recognizable. Often, this is paired with black jeans and a pair of very comfortable sneakers, black and white with some red designs, and his favorite pair of strawberry earrings.

An alternate design is a plan white t-shirt and black and white running sweats. This is where he puts his hair up. He looks very dressed down and casual in this. Otherwise, he'll throw a red flannel over it, or swap the t for a tank top instead.

Morrigan:

Morri loves to feel professional. It makes them feel in control. Their favorite article of clothing is a blue diamond patterned sweater vest. Often, they'll wear this over either a white button up or a black long-sleeved turtleneck, and throw a black blazer or jacket over. Khakis, white jeans, and grey dress pants are common, with a pair of black shined dress shoes.

Otherwise, they might be caught with just the white button up, sleeves rolled up, tucked into grey dress pants, hair a bit ruffled as they work. The day JJ sees them in his black Nirvana shirt though? That's the day he dies of Bisexuality.

Biggest regrets? this is a deep one. i love it.

It's hard not to regret anything when you're Morrigan White. You have killed without remorse. You didn't learn about remorse until the person you now care about more than anything was bloody and broken at your feet. You are built for a purpose and you broke it. Morrigan regrets learning how to feel. Staying a machine would've made it all so much easier.

JJ regrets leaving home. He misses it desperately, but everything is so different it hurts. He wishes he stayed, wishes he let himself train to take over his dad's farm, he wishes he never stepped foot from the town sign marking its edge. He wishes he could go back. He's too different, though. Everything is.

Secrets?

Morrigan does their best to hide anything they're afraid of from JJ. He knows nothing about maintenance, and how much it hurts. He doesn't know that Morrigan's greatest fear is hurting someone else. That acting is great, but sometimes they feel like they're suffocating. Because they shouldn't feel things anyway. Why should JJ know about it?

JJ is hiding one very particularly important thing from Morrigan. It's very important. They have never pried about his background, even when he became a target. Their information on Journey is limited unless they go looking, and they don't look. This wildly, incredibly important thing that Morrigan has no clue about? Journey was a superhuman. Now, though? After cryotherapy?

His powers are gone.

Pet peeves about the other?

JJ never puts his shoes on the shoe rack in his own studio apartment or in Morrigan's underground hideout. And they're not prone to outbursts of emotion unless something is wrong, but that pisses them off so much.

Uh. This one is a bit of a surprise thing for the WWEvent. But I'll give you a sneak peek here--even if Morri doesn't pry into JJ's background or past or personal information, they apparently have no qualms about actually breaking into his apartment.
