“I don’t think I can decline his calls anymore, he’s blowing up my phone. I feel bad” I said while looking at my phone on the counter, 20 texts and 12 missed calls from the birthday boy himself.

“You’ve made it this far, don’t ruin it for yourself” Renjun said then took my phone away so I don’t get tempted to answer my boyfriend

“You think you’re the only one suffering? We have to hear him whine about how much he misses you. The hyungs kicked him out of the dorm so he hangs out at ours just to whine some more” Jeno said while tying another balloon while Jaemin was beside him trying not to pass out from blowing air in the balloons. Jisung and Chenle long gave up and is now just playing on their phones

Renjun pulled my phone from his pocket, he rolled his eyes before putting it back

“it was him wasn’t it, let me atleast send a text”

“No”

“But I didn’t even greet him last night” I pouted, I waited for it to turn midnight only to remember i was pretending to ignore him. A bit mean yes but I’ve been planning this surprise for weeks. 

“Just a few more minutes, You’ll live”

So that’s what I did, busying myself with fixing the decorations and foods. They were still at the studio, trying to keep Hyuck there for as long as they can while we set up at their dorm. Everyone was in on it.

Pretending not to greet the maknae of the group, the rest of 127 felt bad but they wanted to surprise him. 

After a while we received a text from Doyoung saying they’re in the parking lot, about to ride up the elevator. I quickly told the dreamies, each of us scrambling around to find a hiding spot.

I turned the lights of and hid by the sofa, 

“You’re stepping on my foot” I hear Renjun mutter

“Sorry”

“Ouch that’s my foot” Jeno said a but louder

“Can you guys keep it down?” I whisper shouted at them

“Are they near? Jisung is suffocating me” Chenle said, in no way lowering the tone of this voice

“GUYS I SWEAR JUST-”

“I’m telling you she hasn’t answered any of my calls, is she mad at me? did I forget our anniversary again?” I hear Hyuck’s voice, already smiling to myself. I didn’t realize just how much I missed him, especially today 

He has not seen the decorations yet since the lights are off, but the moment he turned it on we all jumped out of our hiding spots and screamed surprise.

Disbelief written all over his face, his eyes landing on me

“You! I though you were mad at me” He said, stomping on his way to me before pulling me in a big hug. Not caring that everyone is now teasing us,

“I’m sorry! I wanted to greet you last night but then I remembered I couldn’t but I swear I said happy birthday to you at exactly midnight” I mumbled, my face buried at the crook of his neck and my arms around his waist

“Are you two done? I don’t want to throw up before eating” Renjun said, Hyuck just turned to him with a glare before throwing a balloon at him. The two play-fight while the rest started to dig into the food we prepared. 

After successfully riling up Renjun he turned to me again, looking around for a second before pulling me to the direction of his room

“I can’t believe you ignored me on my birthday” he said while kicking the door behind him, “I was going to surprise you” I reasoned out, looking up at him while I was sitting down on his bed

“Whatever, next time atleast say a goodmorning to me”

“You’re too cute, I missed you too” I said, throwing my arms around his shoulder then gave his cheek a kiss

“I got you something by the way” I said, untangling myself from him then getting the gift I placed on his table

“Here open it” I said then gave it to him

In it was a sunflower I sketched myself and put it in a frame, 

To my sunshine was written at the bottom,

“Do you like it? I can’t think of anything you might need since you can buy it so I thought about making something for you”

“Thank you, it’s really pretty” he said while still looking at the drawing

“You’re welcome, baby. You always give me sunflowers so I thought about giving you one too” this time he turned to me, he set the drawing down before tackling me into a hug. I’m now lying on his bed with him on top of me, putting my arms around him I hugged him a little tighter

“Happy birthday, Hyuck” I whispered, he pulled away a little bit so now we’re face to face

“Thank you, for this. For the surprise. I love it”

“i love you” i whispered, a smile on my lips. He smiled down on me before leaning down to kiss me, it felt like I was the one getting a present. 

“I love you, too” he replied when he pulled away

“You two better not be doing anything in there” we hear Johnny scream from the other side, 

Hyuck looked down at me again before giving me a quick kiss then pulling me up with him. 

There isn’t a gloomy day with him, it’s like the skies gave me my own sunshine. He warms me up with his hugs, cuddles, when he laughs i feel warm all over. It was his birthday but it feels like I was the one given a gift. 

WIth a tight quick squeeze on my hand, Hyuck pulled me with him to walk back to the living room to celebrate with his friends. A night full of happy memories and laughter.
