It's back! We will be hosting a Souyoweek event that will run during Japan's Golden Week, from Monday, April 29th through Sunday, May 5th. This year's overarching theme will be "Partners" and how its meaning is reflected in our two favorite Persona 4 characters.

Writers, artists, and other content creators who want to participate are encouraged to use each day's theme to help illustrate what Yu/Souji and Yosuke mean to each other. This event is open to all Souyo lovers.

An AO3 Collection will be created in the next several weeks and posted on this account for anyone who wants to use it. I have so many thoughts about this it's not even funny I need someone to lecture about this

The contrast between Souyo and Shuake is hilarious tbh they really jumped from 0 to 100 between p4 and p5

Souyo is just so normal- internalized homophobia is probably the biggest barrier to Souyo getting together. They're just guys being pals:) what if we were partners and held hands in the Walmart parking lot:)

Then with Shuake, there's literally no way to write anything remotely canon-compliant that doesn't have heaps of tragedy and six layers of metaphor. They're the pawns of gods. They're on opposite sides fighting for the same thing in different, morally grey ways. They're narrative foils. They've seen each other die. Akechi's mom is dead and he has the world's worst permutation of daddy issues. Akira willed Akechi back into existence just to be forced to let him die again. Or alternatively, to condemn him to a meaningless fake reality for eternity. They're both traumatized, walking mental health disasters. Akira's been shot in the head by Akechi- and neither of them seemed to be worse off for the experience.
