Soooo my last line about star wars rebels is probably either this sketch or this one, don't quite remember

both are part of a bigger picture tho, one is a silly little page and one is from a mini-comic of 3/4 pages ! Idk if one day I ll gather the courage to post it but I swear it's a rather sweet/hurt one

A digital illustration featuring Luminara Unduli and Barriss Offee from Star Wars. Barriss has just received her facial tattoos. In one hand she holds a golden mirror to observe her new markings; the other hand is pressed gently against her cheek as she smiles at Luminara, who reaches out to embrace her. Luminara is partially turned away from the viewer, but her smile is fond and pleased as she looks at her padawan. Next to her rests the materials for making the tattoo ink - an ornate lantern to melt the ingredients together, a pestle and mortar to grind herbs into powder, and an ink slab to collect the raw pigment. In Luminara's hand, and on her lap, rests traditional tools for applying the tattoos. Around the two jedi are a cluster of other Mirialan women and girls, observing this moment with awe and joy. An elderly woman sits near Barriss, her heavily tattooed face scrunched in joy, her golden tooka asleep in her lap. Behind her stands her two granddaughters, the elder girl holding her baby sister as she peers down at Barriss with excitement. The mother of the two girls stands above them mostly out of frame, her tattooed hands just visible as they cradle her eldest child's head - a motion reflected in Luminara's own embrace of Barriss. Closest to the viewer is the last member of the onlookers, partially visible as she watches the Jedis' exchange, her tattooed cheek rounded in a smile. In her hands she holds an unfurled scroll that contains text written in Galactic Basic, meant to describe the meanings behind the tattoos Barriss has chosen. The color palette of the drawing is overall warm and glowy, made up of purples, reds, and golds, with pops of green.

My piece for the @legacies-entwined zine! Showing the moment after Barriss has received her tattoos - I felt as though this would've been a big ceremonious occasion, so I like to imagine she and Luminara returned to Mirial to be surrounded by their birth culture and other Mirialans. I also like to imagine that it was Luminara who gave Barriss her tattoos. :)
