Sometimes, it’s not a lack of muse or short attention span or lack of time. Sometimes we’re too afraid to write out the reply we had in mind in fear it’s inadequate or written too fast. Then we send replies days, or even weeks, later that we had thought out in our mind since the beginning.

In His Arms

A/n: I wrote this request for my bestie, @ferocious-momma-tiger. Love you ❤️❤️

Everything about the situation was embarrassing. Y/n could feel her hair standing on end, and blood rushed up her neck. Lucifer hissed under his breath.

“Don’t think I have not noticed it.” He claimed, much to her surprise. “What... are you talking about, Luci?” She whispered, afraid her voice might give her away if she were to speak even a decimal too loud. She knew what he was referring to.

He chose to ignore her feigned innocence. “Why have you been avoiding me?” This was the question she had been afraid of. Prior to that day, Y/n had been avoiding talking to the avatar of pride for one reason only. She assumed he knew already, but just wanted her to say it. He was sadistic like that.

“You’ve been sleeping in Purgatory Hall, avoiding me in the halls at RAD, I even caught you running from me once. I want to know why, so I’ll ask again.” He demanded, his body language screaming dominance. “Why have you been avoiding me?”

It took her a few moments to collect her thoughts before she could respond. Ever since she was chosen to be an exchange student, she had been drawn to him. It was almost magnetic. As days turned into weeks, which turned into months, she felt her heartbeat quicken when he comes around.

It was a strange feeling, one that scared her. She had never felt something so exciting and captivating, as when she got to spend time with the eldest demon brother. The thing was, she knew it couldn’t last forever. Sometime she’d have to go to the human world, and it’s not as if Lucifer could go with her.

“Well?” He was growing impatient, so she finally gave in. “Because... because I think I’m falling in love you, okay!?” She shouted, a bit too loud for either of their liking. “I was avoiding you because I love you and it’s better to lose you now, when I never had you than have you and end up leaving you. I can’t deal with that sort of heartbreak, Lucifer.” She ranted through her crystal tears.

“I... I can’t give myself false hope...” She finished, facing the ground in shame and embarrassment. He tilted her head up. “Whatever do you mean? Lose me?” Lucifer questioned, looking into her watery e/c orbs.

She blinked away her tears, feeling them roll down her cheeks as Lucifer attempted to wipe them away. “I have to go back to the human world, I have friends and family who no doubt miss me and wonder where I’ve been for a year. You have to stay here in the devildom so you can look after it as one of the seven rulers.” Y/n whimpered at his gentle touch, feeling herself fall victim to his charms.

“Oh, Love.” He cooed, bring her closer to him. “Your leave is still months away, we have time to think about what we’ll do then. For now though...” Lucifer kissed the top of her head. “Let me hold you.” She gave in and sank into his warm embrace.

She felt herself relaxing, as if by magic. He was magical to her, so it only made sense he had this effect. “Thank you...” She murmured after a few blissful silent moments. “Of course, anything for you.” Before she could hear his next words, he drifted off. “I love you too.”

~ Took between 5-6 hours to finish this. I’m so darn proud of myself. ~

Celebrating the lost of sleep and sanity
