futuristic/cyberpunk desert duo! (theres a bit of writing about it under the cut)

Grian is an engineer who was commissioned by whatever shady government to make a large contained area for them to run some sort of experiment in, and he does it without thinking.

Scar grew up in the shadier side of town, and got his namesake because he wasn't the best at avoiding the mines leftover by whatever big war had happened previously.

they are both "randomly" chosen by the government to take part in the experiment Grian helped create, and Scar is about as good as surviving in it as he is outside.

the biggest storyline difference in this au is that, because Grian has been trained in it, his traps actually work. maybe Scar got too close to one, or maybe dogwarts never got the chance to rise, or maybe everyone was able to escape before the game got into full swing, who knows

it was a bit challenging trying to figure out how minecraft would work with no magic and futuristic weapons, so this was fun to make!
