At The Familiar Voice, Agatha's Gaze And Head Lifts And She Straightens Up, Expression Immediately Brightening
at the familiar voice, agatha's gaze and head lifts and she straightens up, expression immediately brightening upon seeing it's her dear friend. " oh, toushiro! it's so good to see you! " the brilliance of the smile she wears now could easily outshine the sun, feeling elated to see him. she'd give him a big hug if he allowed such a thing, but agatha remains by the window of the shop. " yeah. " she nods, her gaze drifting back to the boots she'd been staring at for some time now. she could just call her wife and ask her to come down here and pay for the shoes, but... well, she's probably home grading papers. agatha would hate to disturb her work. " it isn't totally unreasonable! i mean, they're a good pair of shoes from a good brand! nice and sturdy and comfortable. the price is worth it. "
" Oi. -- Something has clearly captured your interest there." he stifles a chuckle to not discomfit the unknowing woman. -- Agatha was the last person he'd foresee catching, her midsection semi-arched in front of a shop's window, her nose virtually abutting its stained outward glass, on the streets amid his midday promenade. He situates himself at her flank, akin to an apparition abiding the position of one's penumbra, extremities profoundly within pockets, and peers aloft her hunched shoulder, at the commodity that had held the fullness of her engagement." Boots, huh? "he says, re-straightening.
" ---- Their listed price is, quite frankly, unthinkably high and unreasonable."

" oh, no, no, p-please, you don't have to apologize. " she giggles softly, waving her hand dismissively as she shakes her head. " no, i-i'm j-just a worrywart, i get it f-from my mother. " agatha's mother worried a lot, usually about her. as a kid, she'd quickly picked up on it, and in turn, she worried about nearly everything. money, people, her fears eventually getting the better of her. it was... a lot.
agatha sips her drink, humming at the taste. it was quite good, maybe she'd have to get something like this the next time she finds herself in a bar, whenever on earth that might be. her gaze drifts back up to mura and she smiles. " th-that's g-good, i'm glad. w-work hasn't been awful either, f-for me, but... i-i c-could tell i was in desperate need of a b-break myself. " god knows she very rarely takes a moment to stop and breathe and relax, powering through however she's feeling instead. getting yelled at by a customer yesterday was the final straw that told agatha she needed a break, otherwise she'd just keep making more mistakes.
her smile grows. " i-i d-don't think i've ever gotten one. i-i f-feel kind of nervous about the prospect of the f-full b-body massage, b-but, well, y-you'd know those reasons. " her gaze averts and she shifts in the chair, taking another sip of her drink. " i suppose i want to— t-to b-believe they've p-probably seen all sorts of scars a-and w-w-wouldn't b-be bothered by it, a-and i also feel, w-with you there as well, i... i w-would be okay. "
murasaki stayed as close as she could to agatha, so the pair didn't get separated somehow, as if that would have been a problem. she'd be able to feel her energy and follow it back to the fae, but she preferred to not use her magic if possible, at least for right now. getting their drinks from the bar, the witch sipped at her's through the straw, the bite of the alcohol hitting her tongue and burning down her throat.
" o-oh, s-sorry. i didn't m-mean t-to make you--you worry, agatha, " the woman offered an apologetic smile towards her companion, dual colored eyes flicking down to her drink, watching the ice slowly shift as it melted in the booze, " w-work hasn't been aw-awful, " another sip of her beverage before she looked back up towards the blonde woman, " but a break i-is nice. i'm... certain i c-could've a-asked si-sir pheles for the time off. " would that mean she was actually given a chance to relax her muscles and enjoy herself? not particularly. something was always going on that required extra hands, and murasaki was a veteran exorcist at this point, so she was the one they would call in to show up on scene.
" i-i'm... i'm e-excited. it's been a-a-a while since i've ha-had a massage. " how many years ago at this point? it didn't matter to a creature of time.
" did you know there are moths that scream? "
" oh, you poor thing, it's okay. " she lightly pats the top of the roomba and re-orients the machine. for some reason, it keeps bumping into this one table leg. maybe something was wrong with it? agatha isn't sure. " i hope i don't have to return this... it's just so cute! "

soryn parks his motorcycle on the street and makes his way across to the park, his lunchbox in hand. he loves coming out here for his lunch break, enjoying the gentle breeze, the warmth of the sun on his skin and the general ambiance around him. it was truly the perfect spot. he sits at one of the benches. from here he could see the gazebo that a few other people were eating at, the playground that some kids were climbing all over, as well as the pond that wasn't too far off that was usually a home to some canadian geese during the spring and summer. soryn would sometimes watch parents urge their kids to head to the pond and feed them bits of bread, watching in amusement how the birds would sometimes frighten the kids.
he opens his lunchbox and crosses one leg over the other as he balances his lunch on his lap. soryn doesn't even need anything at all, and yet there was a desire to blend in. to appear, for all intents and purposes, normal and human. there was a small bottle of water, a sandwich, some crackers and slices of cheese, orange slices, and some oreos. he lifts up the sandwich and brings it toward his mouth when something in his peripheral makes him stop. soryn's gaze lifts and, much to his surprise, it was a priest approaching him after he told a couple of kids to run off toward the playground. he watches the priest sit down, quirking a brow at him. he didn't think one would even want to get this close to him.
" i figured my attire and my tattoos and piercings would be enough to keep priests away. " he says, a hint of an amused smile forming on his lips before he finally takes a bite of his sandwich. soryn chews, swallows. his gaze moves back to the priest. " or do you think i have a soul to save? "
