"Oh trust me, it's true. When your mother first introduced us I don't think we knew what to make of each other. Your father was nervous, and I... well, the last man your mother was engaged to I was not a fan of." Michael laughed a little at the memory and clapped Jamie on the shoulder.

"But I did come to like him, told your mother he was a vast improvement as soon as we were alone. You're both headstrong in your convictions, even when their not popular."

"Has anyone ever told you that you remind them of your father?" (for Jamie from Michael)

Hopefulness is birthed in the private's eyes as she turns to her uncle. "Only one or two who knew him," she confides. "Is it-- is it actually true? H-- How am I like him?" She pauses. "Is it a good thing or a bad thing?"

"Are you actually speechless? Did I find a way to make Scarlett Ewing speechless?" Calvin teased as he watched her take in the view.

"This view is what I imagine they saw when they settled this property way back when, plus it's real pretty at sunset." He turned to Scarlett and smiled, he was glad he was sharing it with her.

"I like to come up here and think sometimes."

Chuckling Calvin shook his head.

"Fine. We're going to one of my favorite places, somewhere I haven't shared with many people. There, that's your hint." Doc knew the trail well, so Calvin hardly had to turn the quarter horse onto the path up the the ridge that had the best view of the property.
