My initial post about Bill still wanting to Fuck That Old Man™ is nearly at 10K notes so I figured I'd make another one.
In Season 2, Episode 19, "Dreamscaparers", AKA Bill's debut episode, he states near the end that he hates synth music in response to Mabel summoning Xyler and Craz.
However...
In the lost pages of Ford's journal, we learn that Bill made a cozy little space in Ford's living room, as you can see here:
He made tea, set up some chess, lit up the fire place, and for ambience music, he chose...
Sweet Dreams, by the Eurythmics.
A synth song. For the ambience, he chose a synth song.
Conclusion:
Bill's hatred of synth doesn't come from his personal tastes in music, but rather because it reminds him of his and Ford's breakup.
