Do Adam and Robin get days off on days like Labor Day

Legally no.

Technically yes.

They just don’t show up, and the Humans can’t do anything about it :)

When I was a Younger Fandom Child, a lot of the stuff I saw about OC’s was;

“Your OC should not change the main story in any way”, or they’d be called a ‘Mary Sue’ or something.

And I hate that.

If you take a character away from the OG story, things will change. Things will happen that didn’t happen before, or some things will never happen all together; think Lucy from Fairy Tail.

If she never left home to join a guild, she would’ve never gone on that boat, which means Natsu would’ve never known about it, and all those girls would’ve never gotten home. She never would’ve joined Fairy Tail, which means Phantom Lord never would have attacked. Loke/Leo would have died, it’s possible no one would have been able to beat Angel from the Oracion Seis— because Pisces never would have turned on Angel.

The Eclipse gate never would have been closed.

So, if you create an OC, I want something in the story to change because of them. I don’t care if only the original plot stays behind and everything else changes, I want there to be a reason the character exists.

Because if nothing changes, what is the character’s purpose?

They are well hidden, but they’re deep

so this specific scene or rather words keeps replaying in my mind. I wanted to relate it to the story you wrote about Texas getting yelled at and Robin getting pissed off at the senator. It’s just from the senator’s perspective.

and then, he didn’t feel anything. Not emotions, not his headache, not the tears welling in his eyes. His body fell apart into a perfect example of what he was to that. Monster.

what’s the Assistant’s Assistant role?

Robin, the Executive Assistant, gets her own assistant :)

A human with face-blindness— thus unbothered by the fact they can never really remember Adam or Robin’s faces— who believes their boss and her husband are just strict but good bosses, and they do not believe there is anything supernatural. They chalk all that sort of talk up to gossip and people just not liking the Jones’.

The first Assistants’ Assistant shows up after the Quadruplets appear (Dept. Of War, Dept. Of State, Dept. Of Treasury, and Attorney General) to help Robin with the less important work she didn’t have time for.

And then, by chance, every generation of that family afterwards has a child with the same face-blindness and trust in their ‘Human’ Bosses. The Assistants’ Assistant tole is filled by the same family, just different generations!

They’re Adam and Robin’s favorite human employee, and probably the only one they won’t kill (unless they decide they have a good enough reason)
