"The Grass Is Greener There" AU
Some headcanons for the ending, where the Stein family lives abroad.

----------------------------------------
1) Carl and his family live in a simple two-storey house on a hill with a great view of the sea and a clothes dryer right in the yard. Sometimes Martha plays there with her dolls while Anna hangs the laundry on the strings. Patrick draws drawings in the attic, where the sea wind blows and a beautiful view from the window. And in the evening, the family gathers in the kitchen, where Carl plays calm melodies on his guitar. Sometimes the head of the family makes fun of Patrick (about the mines), but seriously, Carl is even happy for his son.
Bonus: In Anna's cafe, you could not only have a snack, but also find shelves with books. And some board games (chess, backgammon).
Bonus 2: Carl is overtaken by karma for tearing up books in the library. He discovers book sheets on the floor and damaged book covers, for which he later receives a letter from his superiors.
----------------------------------------
2) Carl and Martha spent the weekend by the sea doing cute things, like eating ice cream, building a sand castle, collecting shells, etc. In general, Π‘arl gave Martha all his attention and love to make her feel happy.
----------------------------------------
3) When the Steins move into a new house abroad, Carl, after walking a couple of steps, faints. Later it turns out that from lack of sleep he fell into a comatose state. It is not known how long Carl will stay in it, but he will obviously not wake up soon.
Bonus: Carl, after rebitalization from coma and psychotherapy courses, goes to get a job as a librarian. He goes along with Anna, because he is very nervous. But he enters the room alone.
----------------------------------------
4) At night, Carl wakes up for no reason. Although the reason is that he has nightmares that he is working at Krushvice again, and he did not save anyone. Carl still can't believe that everything is calm now. Even though he knows that he and his family are not in danger now.
----------------------------------------
5)
Carl: You know, I wouldn't trade all this for something else. Anna: Since when are you so sentimental?
Carl just shrugs, kisses Anna's hand. Already aged, they looked at the sea together, gently holding hands. The sun was slowly going "under the water", giving way to night time.
