“That’s Un-gwang’s chair.”
This is by far the best kdrama I’ve ever watched. Nuanced characters, great acting, good storyline, mysterious and no odd romance/situations thrown in. More please!

There was silence. | CGM
From: Stranger [Forest of Secrets] (2017)
This scene speaks a lot of things, and I was simply amazed how a lot of emotions were expressed with just a short script, voice, and facial expression.
She asked about his parents. It was something personal - something he wasn’t yet ready to say, and so there came silence, and… she understood that. Slightly changing the subject, she asked why he didn’t tell her about his surgery as if claiming it was something she had to know - a kind of question you ask to a friend, a close friend particularly. Next, she asked if the pain was already gone, and he replied his common answer to that common question.
It was the usual routine, the usual question he receives from someone who knows his condition - mainly his mother. That was until, she asked him to tell her if the pain comes back. This simply states ‘care’ - extending beyond ‘confirming and checking’ about his condition. She was willing to help him even though she couldn’t do anything about it - that short crack from her voice, expressing that pain when you want to do something and help someone you care about but can’t.
And, he understood that. He appreciated that. His face speaks as if he just received and heard something for the first time - those warm and honest words entering his heart, because… Finally, someone knows, someone cares. After all those years of keeping his condition from everybody, with just his parents (most probably) in knowledge about it (who had a life of their own presently and not really there around him), and after all those years of isolating himself (he once claimed he would probably be alone forever), there came this completely understanding woman, volunteering to help him. It was truly touching, comforting.
There was silence…
And then, he spoke up to ease her guilt - that it wasn’t her fault, that she hadn’t caused someone’s death. She had comforted him and she deserved comforting words from him, and so he gave her some.
Indeed, it was amazing… to finally meet such person.
